On a busy rainy Saturday I decided it was a good time to try Nonantum Press Room. It's a small spot no tables but really nice. The woman at the counter greeted me informed me that they were having electrical problems, which was not a problem for me, but good information to have. I ordered the Italian with everything. What this sandwich may lack in length it makes up for in girth. The meat was sliced a little thicker than I like, but it wasn't an issue. They piled the meat and cheese on this sub. They toppings were near perfection. Beautiful ripe tomatoes, onions so thin you could see through them, finely shredded lettuce and pickle chips. The onions were perfection, you got the onion flavor without having to bite into a raw onion. The lettuce soaked up the oil and vinegar. The pickles could have been sliced thinner, but were good. I was stuffed after eating this. For dessert I got a slice of the bakery pizza. Heated it up a few hours later and it was so good. Crust was light airy and crispy, with a nice sauce. I will be heading back to Nonantum press room to try out some other sandwiches. This place has only been open for two months, go give it a try.

Great new take-out spot. No delivery option yet, but hope that changes. They appear to post specials, menu updates, and schedule changes on their Facebook page. Pasta Fagioli - Soup flavor was really good, and I would order again. My only recommendation would be to use a smaller pasta (maybe ditalini or elbows) in the soup. The large penne noodles tend to overpower, but it's still really good. Pizza Panino - Delicious sandwich packed with pepperoni, marinara and cheese. This is like a much better version of a calzone with much better ratios of ingredients. Chicken Parm panini - Also excellent, cutlet lightly fried and breaded, but perfect texture for sandwich. **Special** Chopped Italian Wrap - Big time highlight, chopped components of Italian sandwich packed into wrap. Salty and spicy and totally delicious. Only feedback is to dry the pickles/peppers or anything else with liquid, as it started to get soggy and dripping (but worth it).

The best of the best for what's called for on a lunch early dinner take home or eat on the curb . A must stop for a pressy sangie or what ever chef Jim cooked up that day.

Food is delicious with a good assortment of to go salad, sandwiches and soups. Great little spot on Adams street with plenty of street parking. No seating, take out only. Service is great along with a great atmosphere. Definitely check it out.

"When you run to the rocks The rocks will be melting…read moreSo, downpresser man, where you gonna' run to?" (Peter Toash) The Pressed Café has eleven locations sprinkled throughout Eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We had an excellent lunch experience with a delivery order from their Newton, MA location. We had a Kids Cheese Quesadilla ($8), a Single Pressed Hamburger ($7.75), a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Bagel ($8), a Coconut Curry Bowl ($14), and an Egg White Breakfast Burrito. My Coconut Curry Bowl was great, and pretty close to anything I get at a Thai restaurant. The bowl was loaded with Roasted Carrots, Broccoli, Zucchini, Summer Squash, Red and Green Peppers, Grilled Onions, Pineapple, Spicy Fresno Chili, Cilantro, Lime, House-Made Spicy Coconut Curry Sauce and was served with a side of White Rice and a whole grain pita bread. I added in a rock-bottom $1 surcharge for some grilled chicken cubes. It was a big portion and half of it went in the fridge for the next day. The Pressed Café's menu is very deep with Daily Specials Burgers and Chicken sandwiches, Coffees Smoothies, Raw Juice & Tonics, Acai Bowls, Breakfast All Day(!), Salads & Soup, Kids Meals, Paninis, Signature Bowls, a Vegan Menu, and plenty more. We were very satisfied with our food, value, and portions.

Friendsgiving has become a heck of a lot less stressful after discovering Judith's Kitchen. My…read morefriends and I usually plan one either the week before or after Thanksgiving, but most places that offer Thanksgiving catering only do so during the few days leading up to the big day. A couple of Friendsgivings ago I became determined to find a place where we could order catering in or around Newton where my friend hosts. After a little digging, I uncovered the gem that is Judith's Kitchen. Not only does Judith's Kitchen have oven roasted turkey breast and most of the standard Thanksgiving sides, but they have them year-round! Their full catering menu is quite extensive. That first year we ordered the turkey breast with gravy as well as the brussel sprouts, rosemary potatoes, and the butternut squash purée. The remaining sides we made ourselves. Let's just say everything was a massive hit. You pop everything in the oven to heat up and then they're ready to plate. It's so much nicer than making everything from scratch, especially the turkey. That quartet has become our regular Friendsgiving catering order. Placing an order is easy peasy as you do it with Judith herself (or you can do it online if you prefer). Just tell her what you want and for how many people and she'll let you know exactly the quantity you need. You do end up paying a bit of a premium considering we don't order a ton of food, but I think it's totally worth it for the convenience alone. I'd love to try their lunch offerings if I lived closer, but until then, Judith's Kitchen will be our go-to for Friendsgiving.

Unfortunately, I have to say that the reviews are very misleading. Not only was the man wearing…read morereading glasses who served me cold and unfriendly, but he also handed me my to-go sandwich without a bag or even napkins. Very unprofessional and disappointing. As a food critic, I must also note that the chicken salad sandwich was made with hard, chunky chicken and lacked any real flavor profile. I visited this restaurant with the intention of possibly doing a write-up on the quality of the food, ambiance, and overall value. Sadly, this place is among the worst I've tried this year. Please try Sandwich Works instead--they have the best sandwiches in Newton, and their staff is warm and incredibly friendly. Spend your money elsewhere.
