Went here with our family again for the second time and absolutely loved it again. Tried more soup dishes this time and all were so flavorful! The only thing I may not get again is the tofu not because it was bad because it was okay but because we liked everything else much better. Kids loved the popcorn chicken that we ordered two servings and they still wanted more. Highly recommend given high quality food. We'll definitely return.

This family run restaurant is very homely, from the decor to the food they serve. They do have short opening hours and limited number of seating, but we didn't have a problem getting a table a little after they open, and service was fast. I highly recommend their popcorn chicken - tender on the inside but still very crispy on the outside, and their spicy wonton noodle soup - very flavorful and hearty. I do think the salt and pepper pork chop was a little dry and tough tho.

A hidden gem in the Newton area. We ordered takeout from Grandma's kitchen and got the spicy wonton noodles and spicy beef noodle soup. Both were delicious and had the perfect kick of spice. Our food order was prepped quickly and ready for us when we arrived at the store. The only thing that could have made the experience better was that the portion of beef in the beef noodle soup was quite small. Otherwise, the flavors were delicious and we hope to come back again to try the popcorn chicken!

Easily the early and far away favorite for best restaurant of 2026. Where do I begin? I came in on a Sunday night and was one of the last seated- luckily. As a family run restaurant , grandma and the rest of the family had a flight to catch to Taiwan the next day; all the ingredients are fresh to prep daily and sadly for some, they had to get turned away that night... I went heavy hitter mode, I was in the zone. I got the salt & pepper pork chop- wasn't going to eat the rice but as you can see from the pic below of the noodles- I licked the entire plate clean. This pork chop was perfectly seasoned and it was insanely tender. Very impressed with how tender and flavorful it was. Next up had the spicy wonton noodles; just truly amazing, idk what else to say. The noodles are perfectly cooked, super flavorful dish. The beef noodles were also incredible and the braised beef pieces stole the show in that bowl. I left zero room for any to go box. Service was amazing, they were super nice & I even got to say hello and compliment Grandma upon leaving. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I will definitely be back soon!

I wished this place had more seating honestly. We were a group of 6 and did have to wait a bit because they don't do reservations and they also do not have a lot of seating. The food is great and the menu is not overly complicated. We enjoyed the beef noodles, sesame balls, and the popcorn chicken a lot. It is a cozy place. I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

The food was amazing here! We got there at around 6:30ish on a Saturday and we had to wait 30ish minutes, so we just visited a nearby bakery. I will say that it's not a great place for large groups, since they don't have a lot of space inside for seating. We ordered the wonton soup and the braised beef noodle soup and both were so fragrant and delicious. For their spice options, even the medium can be quite spicy so be cautious of that. We also had their popcorn chicken and accidentally got the most spicy option (which was a mistake haha), but it was still delicious. Food is reasonably priced as well!

Came here on a Saturday for lunch and it was very busy. I had to wait 45 min, but it was worth the wait. This is a cozy little restaurant with only a handful of tables, but the food is amazing. Every dish we got was fresh, flavorful, and pretty authentic! The price was also very reasonable and the portion sizes are generous.

Very homey atmosphere. Server was attentive and food was good. Portions were on the smaller side but aligns with the price and a normal amount for a lunch spot. The noodles were the best from what we ordered.

Super casual dining experience, great for a quick bite. They also have take-out and boba that you can order and grab and go. They have a decent amount of space but not that many tables so we had to wait 15-20 mins even when we went on a random week day. However once we were seated the service was relatively quick. We just got the soft tofu for our baby (she loved it, ate almost all of it) and then we got two soups: beef noodle soup and the spicy wonton noodle soup. The broths on both the soups were very good and the portions were also decent! The wonton spice also had a nice kick to it, was not expecting that. Many more items on the menu I would love to try, will most definitely be back!

Friendly family run restaurant, super welcoming and patient. Love the seasonal decor they put up. I've been here many times but wanted to leave a review this time. The popcorn chicken is a must get. Good flavor and juicy chicken bits. Some places make them too dry but not this place. We went with just mild hotness but I think you can get hot. Which would be equivalent to buffalo wings hot. The spicy wontons were small but comes with several. They are on the spicier side. So you'll need to get one if their speciality drinks too bring down the heat. The corn potato croquettes were smaller than what I'm use to but still flavorful. An order comes with two and they make a great appetizer. Occasionally grandma comes out to greet the customers.

Popcorn chicken & rice, spicy wonton noodles, corn and potato croquettes.

Excellent food and kind service. Understand if the restaurant doesn't allow online ordering, but at least post the updated menu online so people can call ahead and not wait. Croquettes very good, but I expected at least 3-4 for the price, and the sauce was not nearly enough for one.

Any vegan options??the food looks very tasty?

Aside from the vegetable dishes like the bean curd, edamame, kimchi none of the other items look like they are vegan.

Can I order online? I tried calling a few times but no one ever picks up?

They do not have online ordering. They are a small family crew so they don't always pick up the phone if it gets busy.

Do you have plans for a vegetarian soup option?

Do you take some day reservation?

Unfortunately, the size of our restaurant is too small for us to accommodate reservations. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

They brought over tea in a teapot and cups. We ordered a large hot and sour soup to share between 4 of us and it was plenty. Also ordered the duck appetizer which was really good tender and flavorful. Kung pao chicken is the hubs' favorite and was pretty good. Ma po tofu was good quite spicy very soft tofu. Also got the vegetable dish the mixed vegetable dish which had the Chinese squash, carrots and mushrooms. Everything was delicious and I couldn't stop eating! They brought oranges with the bill which is nice - I like healthy desserts ha ha! The ambience decor is nice with beautiful painted designs on the walls. They also have 2 private rooms with seating for private parties. Service was a bit slow in the beginning but once they got the order the dishes came out fairly quickly. We had lots of leftovers and they packed it all nicely and even gave us 2 extra bags since we wanted to split the leftovers between us. We lucked out with parking and found free street parking very close to the restaurant. Overall good experience!
