When it comes to customer service, they truly nailed it. So much so that I'd visit just to have interactions here or watch the others interact with the staff during service. Why? They are truly amazing with the way they interact with just about everyone who steps through the door. Perhaps, that man was the owner? I don't know and I don't care. Whoever he is, kudos to him for being awesome. But my reviews are always going to be based on the food alone. And that alone I write of: Beautiful presentation. Arrived fast and furious like I was about to trash this place if it didn't. Hot and steaming. Screaming for me to partake in delight. Everything about that part was amazing. And I accepted it like my life depended on it. Hoorah! Now comes the slight issue. It looked mad good. It smelled mad good. But it wasn't!?! The food was bland like Covid has hit my tongue (which it didn't) and taken away my ability to taste. The pork wasn't tender and the chicken was absolutely under-seasoned. I don't know. Why could it be this way? Then again, the kids totally taking the spots and being "rude" didn't help either. You don't need to be in three spots at a time. Usual suspects they say? Whatever. I'm just here for the epic food. Long story short, food could be even better...just season it well please....

Staff was amazing. Very friendly, helped us with our order (it's a large menu and we are an indecisive party) and gave us a couple extras. Food is delicious and portions are very large. Prices are quite reasonable.

Food is soooo good! People were nice and helped us with our order. Such cool art and nice ambiance. We were even given some free sides and extra pieces of chicken! The chicken was crispy, delicious and had a nice tang to it. Bathrooms were literally the nicest I've seen, and I've been to some really nice places. The people who rated this less than four stars are simply wrong and need to relax. The food was on point. The Tetris tots were really cool. They tasted like fried perfection. The staff were so sweet and we had a nice little chat with them.

Mochiko Hawaiian is my favorite take out spot! I always get their mochiko chix plate, I've tried other chicken plate before and I think this one is still the best (as evident from me indulging in it before taking a good photo). It's best eaten immediately while it's crispy and warm! Their serving size is really good as well. Would highly recommend.

I was so excited to finally have Hawaiian food but Mochiko was a mixed bag for me. I ordered the Mochiko Chix and had it delivered. The chicken was a bit dry and the macaroni was under seasoned. That said I bet it tastes much better eaten right after it is prepared bs delivery so I'll give them another shot.

Overall rating: 4.5/5 I was in the area and decided to try this with some friends! We ordered the mochiko chix plate, mochiko chix sandwich, the kahlua pork plate, soy chicken plate, and moco loco. The fried chicken (mochiko chix) dishes were the best of the bunch, whereas the moco loco sauce wasn't entirely authentic but still good. The boba quality was also okay, but not the same as a dedicated boba store like you'll find in the area. Service was super fast and the food came out in less than 5 minutes, there was parking nearby, prices were decent, and there was sufficient seating inside at the counter or outside at the tables. The 8-bit game vibe was also really cool! Overall pretty decent Hawaiian food and highly filling portion sizes for the price--would come back again!

Nice people, good service, interesting space, Decent bathroom. Definitely a place for young people to eat, with things like chicken and ground beef, but there is salad and tofu for grown-ups. Everything is a little bit over sauced, with a lot of sugar and oil. I guess it's appropriate if you are eating animal, but it's a bit much for me.

mac salad, tots, spam musubi, miso garlic chicken sandwich

You know it's bad when your friend asks what was worst and you can't pick. The only thing that was fine was the staff-they were sweet! First I had the spam musubi. First thought was "the spam-rice ratio is. new. it's tall?" and last thought was "tastes like burned spam" Next I got the garlic soy chicken sandwich. It was very salty but somehow the least egregious of the things I ordered. It was mediocre all around. Then were the tetris tots. They were pure grease and tasted like nothing but oil. This is when my body began to feel weighed down by the grease. I tried the gochujang mayo but it was rly bland and granted me no solace from the tots. Second to last was the mac salad. Just like the tots, it tasted like they bought a bunch of cheap, bulk Food™ from the supermarket and upsold it. It was bland too! I don't even have words to describe how nothing it was. Finally, I tried the $9 taro milkshake. I wouldn't have paid a dollar for it if I had known what it would taste like. It was liquidy nothing with a hint of taro. I tried to drink it but couldn't make it past a couple tired sips. I went in with no expectations and, in fact, was somewhat excited. I'm glad I was hungry because I don't know how else to justify the $45 I just flushed down the toilet.

Tl;dr, good food, friendly and allergy friendly. Gold star! Stopped by late night just before closing on a week night. We've been here a few times and as others have mentioned, the chicken is a must get. Went with the spicy hot chicken and oh my gosh, I should have gone with the regular non spicy. I could not handle the heat but it tasted so good that I continued on eating it anyways. We had a snafu with one of our allergy friendly orders but they were super supportive and remade our order despite closing time. They were friendly and didn't hold it over us for keeping them late. I didn't catch their names but I will if I see them next time.

Loco Moco Plate

I miss Hawaii, besides the beautiful weather and beaches, I also miss the food. Growing up in an asian household, some of the local Hawaiian flavors are very familiar and bring me back to some of my fond memories of my childhood with my grandparents. Although they never made loco moco's they made something very similar so I was excited to see I could get one here! This is more of a takeout spot but they have a couple of picnic tables outside if you want to dine there. The menu has a number of popular local Hawaiian dishes like mochiko chicken, garlic shrimp, spam masubi and Kapalua pork. I had my eyes on the loco moco. Ground beef patty with a mushroom gravy over rice topped with an egg. The ground beef patty tasted like a frozen patty because the meat was more gooey like it was stuck together and my dish didn't have enough gravy. The rice needs to get smothered in gravy, so every bite is bursting with flavor. The egg was cooked perfectly but was topped with lots of furikake (a Japanese mixture of seasonings, seaweed and sesame seeds). I would've preferred the furikake on the rice because the egg over powers any flavor from the furikake. Overall the dish was ok hence the rating.

Spam Musubi
Miranda G.

I'll start off with the positives. The fried chicken is solid. The batter they use to coat it is nice and fluffy and doesn't take away from the amount of chicken, which is a nice change compared to other fried chicken places where it's typical that there is more batter than chicken. The sauces they use for their chicken is also very unique and tasty. I'm giving fewer stars because of the cleanliness of the store. We ate in the store and there are only about 5 chairs to eat at. When we sat down, the counters and floor were quite sticky. I thought the spam musubi was just okay and the thai tea was too creamy and had a strong coffee taste. I also was quite sick (food poisoning) the following day, which may have been from the food here.

They have the option of take out too! We got a couple appetizers to try & each got a different ramen. Here's what we ordered: APPETIZERS - chicken karaage - okonomiyaki-styled tater tots - green papaya salad RAMEN - miso ramen - spicy miso ramen - chef's ultra ramen - spicy tan tan ramen Thoughts: I thought the appetizer portions were pretty generous! A lot more than we were all expecting. I was pretty much already full before the ramens came out. Wasn't a big fan of the green papaya salad. It was missing some flavor. We all thought that it would be better if it had some tomatoes & garlic. Didn't seem like they used a mortar to ground the aromatics or anything, since the sauce just tasted like fish sauce and lime. The chicken karaage was okay. Wish there was more sauce to dip the chicken with. Chicken was also on the drier side. The tater tots were the best appetizer of the three we ordered, IMO. If you like takoyaki balls, you'll like this because it has similar sauces + bonito flakes. Ours needed some salt though. As for the ramens, I personally had the spicy miso ramen. It was missing a lot of depth in the broth that I would've liked to see (& taste). I didn't taste any miso to be honest. Salt was needed too. The highlights for the ramen were the chashu & corn. I loved that they used fresh corn! The chashu had the perfect amount of fattiness & almost melted in my mouth. The noodles were nice and chewy. The broth was just disappointing though. For the other ramens, everyone enjoyed the one they ordered. I tried a little of the chef's ultra ramen & the broth was much better than my spicy miso. Btw, the spicy miso ramen is not spicy at all for anyone who is hesitant & cannot do overly spicy foods. The food was a bit disappointing for me. I came in with high expectations with all the good reviews I read beforehand. Not terrible but not great.

As we made our way inside the restaurant, Chef Chris took the time to greet us and since we were the first ones there for our time slot, he gave us the option to pick any table we wanted for our omakase experience. He is very personable and took the time to get to know us and talk a bit about his background. The tables were split into separate sections so that you were seated only with your party which I thought was a nice setup, especially for a date night. We decided to do the Grand Slam Omakase with 16 courses with a specially selected sake pairing. Chef Chris took the time to explain each course, with several of the components being made in-house. I was an especially big fan of the Hokkaido scallop course but everything was phenomenal, especially the nigiri. You can tell that every aspect of every course is crafted thoughtfully and with care. If you are looking for an omakase experience, I would definitely recommend reserving a time at Momi Nonmi!

He told us up front that seatings are for up to 2 hours and we finished in about 90 minutes. I mean, I've heard of rhdjdjd before, but my dislike for American corndog from a young age has kept me completely oblivious to an other version. Just a very select few times in my life, I have eaten something so good, it's made me question everything around me. Korean corndog?!? How could I have lived this long and overlook something so good? It is nothing like the corndogs we are used to in America. The panko is everything. The crunchy texture paired with the oooooeeeyyy gooooeyy cheese makes this what I can only describe as a eutrophic experience. Yes the corndog is phenomenal, but the crispy chicken sliders alone would have been worth the trip. The crunchy, light and airy breading is perfection. Paired with house made pickles, spicy mayo and a pillowy soft bun, and a honey teriyaki pineapple glaze crispy chicken. I did not come here for any sort of chicken item, but unexpectedly, this is easily a top 3 chicken sandwich/slider I've ever had. This little restaurant is dangerous. The menu is simply irresistible.
