    plate lunch and POG juice
    Alaina M.

A piece of Hawaii in Boston!! If you're looking for the closest thing Boston has to a Hawaiian plate lunch, this is it! My husband and I went to Hawaii on our honeymoon, we wanted to find a Hawaiian spot to make it a tradition for our anniversaries & this hit the spot! It was just like being in Hawaii, they even have the classic Hawaiian Sun POG juice. Love supporting locals like this too, overall 10/10 recommend! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Only a few tables inside, but we found a park about a 5 minute walk away to sit at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

delicious poke, fresh and good portions. I had the garlic blue fin tuna and salmon. both reminded me of Hawaii. I also loved the pineapple cake. Mahalo

One of my favorite neighborhood restaurants. The fried chicken and salmon are some of my favorites but everything is great - from the mac salad to the pineapple upside down cake! Super friendly staff and chill vibes. The only downside is the limited hours...

Overall, really great meal! I didn't love everything I ordered, but several items really stood out. The ahi limu was my favorite, so tender and delicious, followed by the crab mac salad. Such a tasty combo! My husband really loved the BBQ salmon, it was tender and flavorful. The scallops were okay, not my favorite but not bad, and the pineapple cake was alright, a little dry, but much improved by the rum glaze I added at home. Everytbing was very high quality, and I look forward to going back to try more of the menu.

Now this is some REAL poke. Finally made it to Manoa and this will now be my go-to spot for poke. This is the real deal. The most authentic and tastiest poke I've had since I was in Hawaii. I highly recommend the mix plate because you get a little taste of everything. Two proteins choices, mac salad, kimchi cucumbers, and rice. Everything was 10/10. I opted for the shoyu salmon, which had the traditional Hawaiian poke flavor, and the spicy salmon. Both were amazing quality and amazing flavorful. The other thing that makes this place so amazing is the staff. The friendliest people and you can tell they are really proud and passionate about their craft. Love Manoa!!!!

We ordered a lot and most of it delivered. The BBQ salmon had a memorable, smoky-sweet glaze. The ahi limu was tender and delicious, and the crab Mac salad made a nice pairing. A couple of things landed in the middle of the pack: the scallops were fine but forgettable, and the pineapple cake ran a bit dry, though easily amended with a dash of rum glaze at home. Solid quality overall, and I'd happily give more of the menu a try.

My buddy who I work with in Los Angeles hyped this place up and told me I had to stop by while visiting Boston and I'm glad he did! I was also impressed that when I told the gentleman in front who sent me, he knew who I was talking about. That shows me that they care about their relationships with their customers which is awesome. Back to the food, wow. The fish was noticeably fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite I took. Wish I was hungrier when I stopped by so I could grub more. I got the fish of the day which was shoyu yellow fin tuna and the spicy tuna. Great combo!! Will definitely come by here next time I'm around .

Manoa Poke - Somerville, MA 300 Beacon St, Somerville, MA 02143 If you're craving authentic Hawaiian poke, Manoa Poke is where it's at! We tried their Mix Plate which comes with fluffy white rice , creamy mac salad , crunchy kimchi cucumbers , and your choice of two proteins--we went with spicy tuna and salmon. Both were solid, but the real winner? SALMON BELLY Coated in the most addicting teriyaki sauce , it was sweet, savory, and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth. I don't even like salmon usually, but this blew me away. 10/10 would order again (and again ). We also tried the Kalua Pig --tender pulled pork shoulder slow-cooked to perfection, served with their housemade yaki sauce. It's juicy, flavorful, and a must-try for anyone who's not big on seafood. Dessert time! We finished with their Mango Cake--a spongey, tropical dream. The real MVP? That fluffy, flavorful frosting. Can't wait to come back and try the pineapple version! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Heads up: This place gets busy even right at opening (3PM!) and some things sell out fast, so get there early![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ‍ Food: 9/10 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: Grab-and-go vibes, not really a dine-in hangout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Affordability: 5/10 - Definitely a treat yo'self kinda meal but you're paying for quality and real island flavor

Delicious and fresh fish! Definitely some of the best poke to get around the Boston area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is very cute inside, but there is not a lot of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went shortly after opening and received my food very quickly.

If you live in the Boston area, you know good poke is hard to come by.. that is UNTIL you hear about Manoa! Open Wed-Sat for dine-in, take-out, and online ordering, Manoa treats you like family as serving you FRESH, authentic Hawaiian poke by the pound, flavorful protein options (Kalua pork or Mochiko fried chicken), regular poke specials, and more‼ Follow for their special announcements: @manoapoke The mixplates are a great option because you can choose TWO different poke/protein options and it comes with two scoops of rice, a scoop of their garlic aioli mac salad (SO ADDICTING), kimchee cucumbers, and a mixed veggie salad! My go to poke option has always been the ahi shoyu, but a fan favorite has been the scallop oka which has a spicy coconut flavor that pairs well with the scallop's fresh, bouncy texture! The chili BBQ salmon was super surprising and addicting to eat because the carmelized flavors of the chili BBQ paired so well with the salmon belly, and it all just melted in your mouth (SO GOOD) ‼ Also worth mentioning that I loved the guava cake, pineapple cake, and garlic shrimp too (i am a big garlic lover)! Highly recommend @manoapoke as the best in the greater Boston area for best texture and flavored poke‼

I could imagine the wait being longer if it was crowded. The only thing I wished was a little better was the seating/dining areas. The outdoor was nice with the picnic benches but it was way too hot to be outside. The indoor section looked like a middle school cafeteria shack...which was whatever. Overall, food and service were great, ambiance could be a little better! Appreciate the sink to wash your hands after eating. Hourly's interior is high ceilinged and airy and features the eclectic decor that characterizes eateries on the Square. The menu features a range of seafoods for which it is known - from raw bar staples to lobster. We started with a Paul Buisse Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley and a Hendrick's Extra Dry Gibson up (Finally! A Gibson!) The wine was crisp and dry and a perfect accompaniment to the oysters we ordered. Hourly usually has up to 10 oysters on offer from New England and the Chesapeake. We ordered 2 each of the Paine's Creek, East Beach Blonde, Island Creek, Buttercup, and four of the Mookie Blues. Our favorites were the Buttercups and Mookie Blues. Both are from Maine and are larger with a textured brine and crisp finish. The main course was the Roasted Monkfish Almondine served with a cauliflower puree, raisins, caulilini, brown butter, and capers. The filet was meaty, flavorful and roasted to perfection. We also had the Striped Bass which was served on the bone with snow peas, zucchini, squash, and fava beans. Our server was prompt, attentive, and informative and we could not have been more pleased with the service. One of the genuine joys of dining at Harvard Square is you meet other wonderful, interesting people. The table on one side had two astronomers from MIT while the other had four high school principals from Houston. The conversation was engaging and delightful. Hourly has some strong choices for dessert but it sits next door to Mike's Pastry, a Harvard Square tradition, so we opted to indulge our sweet tooth there. Hourly is a great place to recharge and refresh at Harvard Square.
