I been waiting for sando shops opening in Boston area since I ate one during my last trip to Las Vegas... but ended up disappointment but not sandos, their sushi. The sandos are great for grab and go but their sushi are waste of money due to the portion and quality. For lower price, I can get a better quality and portion in a restaurant. Only sandos are worth it and food are nicely packaged. I order online and pick up, spending over $60, not worth the price if you are considered a comfort food cafe. 1Tamago Sando $7.95 1 Fruit Sando $7.95 1 Kokoro unagi flame roll $19.95 1 Kokoro Volcano Tower $13.95 1 Kokoro Inari - Avocado Salad $3.95 1 Kokoro Inari - Sweet Corn $3.95 1 Kokoro Inari - Spicy Crab $3.95

Got a takeout order and enjoyed most of what we got. The udon noodles were well made, the fruit sando was very fun, the broccoli was really good. Inside it was really cute and the staff was lovely. Would be fun to eat their IRL!

Absolutely Amazing Experience and Service! I was with my parents and young daughter and we decided to pop in for coffee and a bite. The second we walked in my daughter was greeted by the friendliest staff and they were so engaging and helpful with menu selections! The foods were so yummy and the presentation was so cute! Can't recommend enough and had a wonderful experience!

I saw this place on Yelp and was very excited to try it for the first time! There aren't many places in Boston that have Japanese comfort food so this place was at the top of my list. It is a cozy corner spot in Somerville with a very cute interior and very friendly staff. I drove to the area on a Sunday afternoon and had no trouble finding parking. As soon as my friend and I walked in, the staff welcomed us and helped situate us with the menu. They have so many menu items that it took us some time to pick something but we ended up ordering the fruit sando, the sushi bento box, and the pork katsu bento box. The sushi tasted very fresh and the rice to fish ratio was perfect. The fruit sando was also very delicious and it was made with some type of brioche bread. The pork katsu bento box came with some seaweed salad, salmon avocado Maki rolls, some gyoza, and pork katsu over rice. It was the perfect amount of food and each dish was absolute perfection. My only one critique is that I wish the pork katsu had thicker meat pieces but in terms of the proportion of food the bento box was perfect. I will definitely have to go again to try their other menu items!

It was great. As a Japanese person who's eaten a lot in Japan I approve of this place, the atmosphere and the food was perfect.

It was tasty, greasy (in a good way), and the spiced fries were a nice change up. My wife and I ordered a bottle of wine which was priced quite reasonably. TL;DR - if you are from Bombay, are craving that specific Bombay Chinese food taste, and Vada Pav - look no further - this is the place. Most of their staff are fellow Mumbaikars - shout out to Shiv, Dhvani, and Ronak! Shiv, our server was friendly and our hungry table got straight to ordering which included a flavor packed and well priced Lychee Martini ($10), Masala Chai Hot Toddy ($12), and Spicy 'Lil Rita ($12) - being the best one! Food included some well name dishes like Kashmiri Deviled Eggs ($12), Vada Pav ($12), Rasam Risotto ($15), Butter Chicken Pot Pie ($20), Chicken Steak with Makhani Sauce ($18), Street Fried Noodles ($16), and Penne Pasta with Chicken for the kiddos. Food just hits the right spots and is very flavorful, extremely well seasoned, and perfectly spiced. Interiors and their bar is very inviting. Noise levels during our stay were on the lower end. Service was excellent. What was refreshing was they didn't charge us any automatic gratuity even for our large group - but absolutely deserved a generous one! Highly highly recommend if flavorful food is your thing!

Like other reviewers have mentioned before, some of the dishes arrive faster than others, so I think selecting a few dishes to share family-style among the group might be the best. This is also because I got the milk bread monte cristo ($18) which I thought was tasty, but quickly became too greasy to fully enjoy. It was a big portion which could be easily shared among a group. I also tried their zucchini and spring onion latkes ($18) and seasonal donuts ($12), both of which were excellent. The zucchini latkes were super soft but seasoned perfectly and had a nice aroma of charred onions. I highly recommend the seasonal donuts which are fluffy and not too sweet.

We were part of a large group (12 diners) for a pre-wedding dinner/party…read more Except for the couple getting married, I believe the rest of our party were the only out-of-towners dining that evening. This is a pub-type atmosphere with a full-service, large bar serving cocktail specials and a gazillion draft beer options. There is a street-side patio if you wish to watch the people and cars at Davis Square. Five Horses serves American comfort food, and they do a pretty good job serving up their offerings. I ordered the steak tips, and they were OK. They were served Med/rare, as ordered, but they did need a bit more seasoning. Plus one ordered a steak salad, and it was OK. They were pretty frugal with the protein, and it came with an abundance of tomatoes. Another guest split a cobb salad it arrived without some ingredients, like bacon. Other diners stated that their dinners were excellent, so 4 stars seems about right. Even though they were very busy, our table was well taken care of throughout the evening. If I lived here, this would be in my rotation for a brew or two, catch a game, and enjoy a burger.

I try not to post negative reviews but I do not recommend the flank steak. I saw it (flank steak,…read morechimmichurri sauce, mashed potatoes, and broccoli) at $29 and said I haven't ordered a steak in while, let's treat myself. Boy was I disappointed, it was literally four tiny slices of beef, about a ladle and a half of mashed potatoes (flavor was great but the texture was dry and it was hard to swallow), and the broccoli was broccoli. The steak was cooked to my liking (rare) but it was room temp and I would describe that serving size as maybe the equivalent of a medallion. Everything else our table ordered (pizza, shepherd's pie, and a burger) looked great but the flank steak is not it y'all. However the service was top notch and will definitely go back, just won't order the flank steak next time!
