MYO bowl ahi tuna & spicy tuna
    Victoria C.

A new poke place on Harvard ave in Brookline putting the other places around some competition. I ordered takeout of my own bowl with ahi tuna, spicy tuna, and many toppings with unagi sauce. The pickup was quick and easy on a week night and there were a few people dining in. The layout of the store is long and rectangular. The fish was very fresh and I loved that you could put as many toppings as you want and weren't limited to a few. I was able to include edamame, mango, radish, seaweed salad on top of my bed of white rice. The price is reasonable for the portion you'll be getting in the area and it definitely hit the spot to satisfy poke cravings. I would recommend trying this place out if you're looking for a quick meal.

This is one of the best poke restaurants I have ever been to. All the ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Will definitely be back.

My favorite poke spot in town. Great portions, delicious tea, excellent service, and also a really nice place to sit down.

Fried chicken was fabulous! They use chicken thighs - meat was much tender. The S3 salmon poke bowl was fresh and delicious. The owner also offered us a bowl of fresh watermelon we will be sure to come back.

As soon as you walk in, you are in the battle of the drums between the Kumasi and the Djembe. So loud I couldn't think . I did ask to turn it down a few times, in the middle of my meal the Chef said I could eat outside. On that note I ordered way too much. The fried chicken was delicious !! Not greasy at all. But huge, sorry today I ordered two thighs that were the size of one large breast. A little condiment of shaved coconut and chive was on the side. Any sides were à la carte. I did try the " Cabbage Salad" that had a nice flavor, but was overdressed and is mostly iceberg lettuce, and rice with surprisingly sticky rice , so it was kind of yummy. The chicken came with one sauce I got the curry. It was divine.. & my friend got the chicken bites and some kind of mayo. I was going to leave a five star review because the food was that good however, on the receipt they charged $.92 for the containers and eating utensils. I'm disheartened because if they offered an alternative like a plate and regular silverware, I could see not adding it into their cost. If I refuse to pay for the containers, how would I eat it on that note the chef was nice enough to me to have me try a couple of items that I didn't have to pay for. Which I greatly appreciated and that is why I'm leaving such a nice review. I do recommend eating here, but take it home. Or call for delivery, they have their own AP. PS great smoothie's !!!

Thought the mac salad could use more seasoning. Would come back to try more though TEXTURE: 5/5 - crispy, perfectly fried chicken and loved the mochiko plate's gochujang mayo sauce. Sandwich was messy and indulgent! PRICE: 5/5 - $16 plates, couldn't believe it. Great value SERVING SIZE: 5/5 - everything was loaded up, we were truly in awe of these portions lol SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 7:30pm on a Friday to a super energetic staff. We were the only ones dining in, but there were a crazy amount of takeout orders ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - a fun space w colorful murals, Pokemon playing on screen, and Spanish music absolutely blasting! We had about a 20-30 min wait for a table and explored the area and shops on the block while we waited. When we got seated we cruised the menu and ordered the following: APPETIZERS - chicken karaage - our order came with crispy chicken however lacked seasoning and was a bit over cooked and dry. - okonomiyaki-styled tater tots - the BEST appetizer we ordered, needed a pinch of salt, but flavor wise with the bonito flakes and sauce it was a hit! - green papaya salad this needed more seasoning, mortared herbs and chilis maybe tomatoes and garlic. Pass next time. RAMEN - miso ramen for the kiddo and she enjoyed it. She can't eat spicy so this was a very mild ramen. Didn't think the miso flavor came thru but she enjoyed it. - spicy miso ramen the lady got this one and i tried a some, the broth was lacking a bit of depth today. It's not spicy so normally I'd say even the non-spicy crowd probably would be able to handle it. The broth just tasted more watery was looking for the punch of flavor. Now the noodles were chewy and had great bounce to them, the char siu pork cuts were tender and melt in your mouth! - chef's ultra ramen - this broth definitely was the better broth out of all the ramens in my opinion with plenty of proteins and more depth of flavor, umami, smokiness, smelled great too. - spicy tan tan the brother got this one, it's typically what i would normally go for, he enjoyed it, not too spicy either, could use some more crunchy garlic with the chili oil. Overall would come back to give it another go, perhaps the heavy dinner rush some things got lost in the cooking on certain dishes.
