I came for the mango shaved ice ($11.95) and also ended up ordering their seasonal special, the mango sticky rice ($10.95). I'm usually not a fan of mango sticky rice, but Oasit's version completely won me over and reminded me of the one I had at a stall in Bangkok. The rice was still warm but fragrant with the scent of coconut milk and the sliced mango was fresh, juicy, and sweet. The mango shaved ice had a milky taste with a powdery finish that melted in my mouth instantly. I liked the little milk mochi pieces that added some chew to the dessert, though the mango cubes had a strange jellied texture and absolutely no mango flavor at all. I did ask a staff member about it, but they didn't know what kind of mango was used. Unfortunately, the jellied mango cubes were too distracting and detracted from my overall experience which was a shame because the mangoes from the sticky rice were definitely fresh.

The best part is that the food still tastes exactly how I remember it -- some things really never change! I got the ground pork rice and chicken cutlet rice, and both were just as delicious as I remembered. Of course, I also had to get the milk tea, and it seriously still tastes the same as it did 10+ years ago. That first sip instantly brought me back to my childhood. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and had a really nice vibe. It made the whole experience even better, especially being back at a place that has so much sentimental value for me. It's always special when a place you grew up eating at can maintain the same taste and quality after all these years. Definitely a nostalgic favorite for me and somewhere I'll keep coming back to!

I was kind of disappointed with the spicy wonton noodles, hence why I rate it 3/5 stars. The spicy wonton noodles wasn't spicy enough, or even at all. The shop, with all its ceramics, is SO cute. I want everything. It's also just a lovely little cafe: calm, cozy, neat, clean, and surprisingly spacious. Also, the onigiri is the biggest onigiri I've ever had. Maybe I just haven't eaten enough onigiri in my life, but I swear theirs is huge and also one of the most flavorful. I got the spicy chicken karaage onigiri and did not regret it. I also got the matcha latte, which was really good. And I respect that they serve Ogawa Coffee, a Japanese coffee. So based. I wish I lived closer so I could just roll out of bed and work here. Honestly, I wish I could WFH so I could work here. Why can't I just live here while I'm at it? They also have a good selection of ramen, udon, sandos, and, when they aren't short-staffed, kakigori shaved ice. I'm sad about the kakigori. It's summer, goddamnit! They could be making so much money if they had enough staff for it. You really can't go wrong being here. It's a little serene Japanese oasis, and I'm very glad it exists.

We got here right when they opened so they were still preparing the premium onigiri for the day. Service was very friendly - order at the register and pick up your food when ready. We did order one of each - Chashu & Aji-Tama (Braised Pork & Egg) - this was one of my favorites, flavorful and fresh. Karage - Probably our second favorite - the chicken was tender. Spicy Karage - similar to the regular karage but I wasn't the biggest fan of the spicy mayo Takana (Pickled Mustard Leaf) - this one was surprising but very good and a little spicy. I also ordered their Cherry Blossom Tea and the Hojicha Latte. Both were good teas. I did some shopping here too as they had a variety of snacks, teas and other trinkets. They have a small little refrigerated fresh food section where you can also get onigiri and other foods. Very cute spot and good amount of seating inside. Nice, quiet and calming inside. Would definitely come back.

So the last two summers when I've spent two weeks in Cambridge for my master's degree program, it's well worth the 40 minute public transportation journey to spend a few hours of the afternoon here. It's hard to describe what's so special about my favorite caramel latte - it's more so that it doesn't have any bad qualities. It's strong, but it's not "too" anything - too milky, too bitter, too sweet, too cocoay. It also makes me feel good. I don't even consider myself a coffee snob (though I do think I'm attuning more to the variety of qualities in recent years); I'll drink and enjoy most caffeinated beverages. This one is just really good. I stayed to read for a while since it's such a nice space, and tried a matcha latte which similarly wasn't "too" anything. These drinks are both 10/10 - maybe not universally, like I'm not saying they're objectively the best coffee and matcha ever, they're just balanced so perfectly for my tastes. The lids on the hot drinks with a convenient little mouth tube also made me realize that we've been settling for imperfect drink lid mouth holes our entire lives. Anyway it's really lovely here!

The location near Northeastern and Symphony Hall gives it a built in audience of students and concertgoers, and the spacious hardwood interior handles both crowds comfortably without ever feeling chaotic despite the energy that tends to fill it on a busy evening. The drinks are the main reason to come, and the specialty lattes are where the menu shines. We tried the strawberry latte and the misutgaru latte, both of which lean closer to dessert drinks than traditional coffee preparations, thick and satisfying in a way that works well for a late night treat. The bingsu is the food item worth ordering, and the green tea and red bean versions are both well executed in a way that the rest of the food side does not always match. The macarons are a solid accompaniment, crispy on the outside with a lightly gooey center that lands where it should. Service is friendly and efficient, handling the steady flow of customers without delays even when the cafe is full. The space remains comfortable throughout, with plenty of seating and a relaxed energy that makes it easy to settle in for an extended visit. Beyond the drinks and bingsu, the food menu is uneven, and some of the pastries feel more convenient than considered. Sticking to the specialty lattes and the bingsu is the smarter approach. For a late night cafe stop in Boston that reliably delivers on atmosphere and a few standout items, Caffe Bene fills a gap that few other spots in the city address.

We started with the beautifully presented Golden beet salad, which was bursting with flavor from the Thai chili jam dressing, followed by the Grilled Caulilini. Similar to broccolini but from the cauliflower family, it was grilled and served with tomato-tomatillo relish, fish sauce, and finely grated Parmesan. We took the bartender's advice and ordered the signature Hot Dog, made with spicy krapow sausage and served in a toasted bun with salted egg yolk mayo and caramelized basil.
