You can't not smile when you go into this spot and you're certainly smiling once you leave! The service is fantastic, so warm and welcoming and the food is delicious! I sat on the lovely patio and had my mango bubble tea and their taiwanese bento box with Chinese sausage, which was all AMAZING. It's so rare to find spots that serve Chinese sausage and it was perfection. You can tell everything is made fresh to order and that the people running it are an integral part of the community just from overhearing them chat with customers, checking in on people and how they have been since they last saw them. But, I still wanted to give this place a try, so we ordered take out on another day. Chinese beef noodle soup: good, but not great. Had a very generic soy sauce flavor to it. Beef was tender like stewed meat. Negligible amount of vegetables. $5.75 California roll: surprisingly tasty, but we did find a small hair in it. =\ $3.50 Overall, I'd recommend it for a cheap, decent meal if you're nearby. What a lovely find! We had a group of five in our car visiting the area and on our way back to the car we stopped in here. The lady who I presume is the owner is the consummate host! She took great care of all of us. I got the last of the coffee from the dispenser and when other from our group ordered a coffee she dumped mine out and said "I'll make you a fresh one", and she brewed a fresh pot so we both got a nice fresh cup of tasty coffee, freshly ground and brewed. The also offer a huge variety of teas, freshly brewed to order. Their muffins, etc. were all good as well. Our youngest one got a delish mango smoothie! So they have a great variety given their modest size. It's s great location with a decent amount of on-Street Parking usually available. They also sell all sorts of hand-made wool hats, scarves, gloves, which are quite reasonably priced and are of outstanding quality and they're all made onsite!! What a great find. Great place to stop and grab some Taiwanese style snacks for great prices. A Taiwanese family owns the store, and they are very laid back and accommodating. The food is not the most authentic but they satisfy cravings and bring about familiar Taiwanese flavors. It's a must try for locals in the area. read more

It's a fantastic place to do work in, with ample seating. Concord Avenue is a polished, clean coffee shop offering unbeatable prices for this part of town. I intended to kill a few birds with one stone... visit the florest next-door, grab a coffee and drop off my dry cleaning across the street... when the owner saw my dry cleaning she approached me and berated me for parking there... then when I came out of the florest I saw her run over to the dry cleaners... likely to berate my dry cleaner! I love this place!! I've been coming here my entire life (I'm 26) and this place has never let me down. They have the best Dan Dan noodles I've ever had, along with anything else you'd ever be craving. And it's all so good! Today I got the Dan Dan (spicy peanut) noodles, a taro bubble tea, ice cream, and a brownie all for $12.50. I have no clue how they can afford such low prices!! They only take cash, but it's easy to satisfy 2 people with $20. It's such a joy to sit inside the cafe and see the regulars come in and sit a while, chat with the owners, or read. A lot of times when you buy sandwiches they are a bit different that sandwiches that you would make in you own home. This is why you have bought the sandwich... because it is unique in some way, maybe there is some sort of special mayonnaise, maybe they have used a press or perhaps they put an egg in it. At concord café there is no such pretense, if you order a sandwich they use the same bread I would buy at Shaws, they use the same lunchmeat & the same mustard. Food is very fresh, portions are OK sized, and the prices won't kill the wallet. Example: a raspberry pastry and small coffee went for $2.75. Where will you find prices like that anywhere else in Cambridge? The selection here is large and eclectic, and there's seemingly something for everybody. This shop is the sort of place that you'd expect to find in some backwater village in the middle of nowhere (does that say anything about this part of Cambridge?) - some pleasant posters in cheap frames on the walls, some hand-made jewelry for sale in the back, a few tables for customers, and an eclectic hodgepodge of a menu. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for dinner - there are no bathrooms, the "hot dishes" are refrigerated and then microwaved, and the seating isn't great - but if you're in the neighborhood and looking for a snack (N.B. their ice cream is much-beloved by neighborhood children), do stop by. read more

This used to be my father's drugstore, 1933-around 1970. It was called The Shore Pharmacy. Glad to know it is still a functioning business. During the war, my dad would post news on a chalkboard in the window. So many neighbors would come to him for medical advice during that time. Lots of noodles, pretty flavorful sauce with lots of pork, freshly julienned cucumbers. Nothing great, as I'm sure nothing is on their menu (except maybe their fresh carrot juice with celery, apple, and ginger which my friend had-- yum!) but it's such a cute little spot and the owner seems so sweet and her friend or husband (?) was sitting in the corner reading a Chinese newspaper and drinking tea.
