I love this place! So happy it's here. Especially glorious manti and samsa. Such a cute place too!

    a menu for a restaurant

The cuisine is Uzbek, which is closely related to the Uigur one, but has its own tricks. I loved the Plov (pilaf). It was as good as it gets. Samsa was excellent too. Now I am anxious to try the rest of the menu. Aword of warning - if you want to dine in, you should call in advance, as it gets very busy (all booked) on weekends and the place is rather small. I liked ethnic decor an sofa-like seating. Parking is easy - between street parking along the Beacon st and a few lots around Coolidge corner Overall - hghly recommended; if you'll like this type of cuisine, you will love Uzbegim.

Such a good spot for a cozy filling meal. STEAMED CHICKEN GYOZA Soft tender and packed with a juicy chicken filling. The wrapper had the perfect bite and dipping it in the ginger sauce made it even better. A great starter. FRIED PORK GYOZA Crispy outside juicy inside and so flavorful. The pork filling was seasoned well and the crunch made each bite so satisfying. These were gone instantly. DAC BIET A rich beef broth loaded with rare steak brisket tripe tendon and meatballs. So much flavor and such a generous portion. Comforting, savory and the kind of bowl that warms you instantly. MI WONTON Light clean and comforting. The wontons were stuffed generously and the broth was flavorful without feeling heavy. A great balance to the richer bowls we ordered. SPICY MISO BEEF STEW This was incredible. Spicy miso broth with tender slow cooked beef and all the toppings. The spice level actually enhanced the flavor instead of overpowering it. Deep savory and so satisfying. TAN TAN MEN One of my favorites. Spicy creamy broth with ground pork bok choy and bean sprouts layered over chewy noodles. Rich bold and full of flavor in every bite. We also added marinated soft boiled eggs to our ramen and they were perfect. Soft jammy and full of flavor. Highly recommend adding one to any bowl. Overall Soup Shack really hit my craving. Everything tasted fresh portions were generous and the spicy bowls had so much depth. Loved this visit and will definitely be back.

INCREDIBLE food! Omg this place is such a hidden gem, just a little walk away from coolidge corner,…read morebut you absolutely can't pass it up. I was a little skeptical at first with how extensive their menu is, reaching across different cuisines, but regardless if there's one thing they know it's soup. They somehow master the distinct flavor profiles between each unique dish, making every single one something new and surprising with an exceptional depth of flavor. My personal favorites were the red ramen and black tonkotsu, but seriously everything they have to offer is next level. I would also HIGHLY recommend their chicken karaage appetizer, I couldn't stop reaching in for more! On top of excellent food, their service is unmatched! Whether you come for dinner or lunch, you're met with smiling faces and a welcoming vibe that just sets the tone beautifully for the rest of the meal. Our server was incredibly kind and generous, allowing us to just sit back and enjoy the meal. Overall, 10/10 experience and I am highly looking forward to my next visit!

This restaurant is located in a small almost mall like area so it's not like waiting was uncomfortable. The menu has a good selection of ramen, but I personally thought the prices were a bit steep for the quality and portion size of food. Nonetheless, it came out quickly enough and tasted fine - authentic enough overall. I probably wouldn't come back if I had a choice, but I'm also not a huge ramen fan. The water refills also weren't great which was unfortunate given the amount of sodium in every bowl. Nonetheless, this is a solid ramen spot, but not somewhere I'd probably come back to.

Unfortunately, my experience didn't quite live up to the hype. I ordered the Gankara Miso. The chashu was easily the highlight, very tender with nice seasoning on the outer layer and clearly well prepared. The ground beef had some decent flavor, but overall it didn't really add much to the bowl. The broth was thicker and creamier than I expected for a miso, it reminded me more of a tonkotsu and while it had some heat, it was surprisingly lacking in depth. Outside of the spice, there wasn't much flavor coming through, which was disappointing given how rich it looked. I really wanted to love this spot, especially after waiting so long to finally try it. I might give it another shot and try a different bowl in the future, but based on this visit, I left feeling underwhelmed.

Both Cantonese and Mandarin were seamlessly spoken. Shrimp Rice Roll / Egg: It looked very appealing. However, the soy sauce was ridiculously sweet, much sweeter than in China, completely exceeding the standard "umami and sweet" of the authentic Cantonese cheung fun腸粉 (rice roll) soy sauce. The cheung fun skin was somehow overcooked, so some parts without egg at the bottom were soggy from soaking in the soy sauce, making the whole roll quite greasy. I have to admire my culinary acumen: I managed to preserve most of the skin's basic texture with the extra egg. Fortunately, the shrimp were fresh enough, six in a serving, with a crispy texture. Oh well, since I'm in America, it's tolerable. I must say, I would never have come here specifically for this, never in my life. Spending $10+ on a plate of cheung fun after traveling so far, will make me feel more like a sucker than ever before!

Great Hong Kong dining experience!…read more Located in Brookline on Beacon Street with abundant street parking, Liyin is a great walk-in option for breakfast lunch or dinner. They specialize in rice rolls with different fillings as well as porridge with a variety of toppings. We tried multiple items and I especially enjoyed the Shrimp Rice Roll! We also tried the Beef Chow Fun which was great and very flavorful. We also tried the Pineapple Fried Rice which was incredible! I don't usually like fried rice or pineapple but I really loved this dish--highly recommend. My friends also loved the Soybean Milk which comes out piping hot and sweet. Overall would definitely come back for a quick and yummy meal.

Limited Street Parking…read more The food made up for the wait time but it was very long. This place was packed, we came in no reservation and the wait time they told us just kept getting longer. We eventually were able to get in, there is a small space to wait with snacks though. Once our table was almost ready the host allowed us to order and once sat it came almost right away. We ordered the la-xi chicken with less spice, this has small crispy chicken pieces and lot of peppers, had to go in and pick out the little pieces. Truthfully wish it was less pepper and more chicken especially $23.95. The mapo tofu was delicious the perfect numbing sensation that I love. A must try dish was the fish fillet with crispy rice. This was $34 but it is perfect for cold day. They bring this dish out pour the soup on top and let it boil until the crispy gets cooked. We got the green beans as well, pretty standard nothing special. We got a little discount as well, I think for a late night special. The entire meal came with tea and the restaurant had calm setting with wooden interior

Disappointing Service & Poor Seating Arrangement…read more Extremely disappointed with our experience here. I made a reservation for 6 people One Month in advance (in fact, today is my birthday) expecting a comfortable dining setup for my group. However, upon arrival, we were squeezed into a table clearly designed for 4 people. When we pointed this out, the staff insisted it was a '6-person table' and refused to move us to the larger tables available, claiming those were reserved for 7-8 people. This is inconsistent and unprofessional, as we have been seated at those larger tables with a group of 6 before. What's the point of making a reservation so far in advance if the restaurant can't provide adequate seating? The lack of flexibility and the dismissive attitude of the staff ruined our evening. For a place like Mountain House, I expected much better service. Will not be coming back anytime soon."
