I literally drove downtown in the rain, and it was indeed around 9:30 on a Tuesday night. (but I'm sure the record shops were closed, if there are even any still open these days) however that may be why the food was terrible so YMMV. I should have known better seeing that they did not sell shawarma that it was going to be a disappointing experience. I ordered the mix plate - around $22 total. The gyro meat was so dry that when reheated, took on a crunchy texture. The chicken did not please. it was lacking in flavor. The rice seemed to be basic white rice, which surprised me because most mediterranean/arabic restaurants have really great tasty rice. the bread that came with the meal was pretty good, but with the other elements of the meal being subpar, it was not enjoyable at all. The selection of drinks there is basic soda that's either high in sugar or high in caffeine, I suppose thats typical since many college students live in this area. I don't think I'll return. I finished maybe half of it, and reluctantly threw the rest away (I hate wasting food but this was not even food I would give to the homeless). read more

Ordered: Zaatar & Cheese Flatbread (~$8) Aya's take: Being Lebanese myself, I love a good manousheh (aka flatbread) and didn't expect to see a place making them here in Boston. The Zaatar & Cheese Flatbread was made fresh. The zaatar was nicely spiced and slightly sweet which I'm not used to, the cheese they use is mozzarella which isn't traditional, and the dough is super thin crust which is also not traditional. Zaatar is typically earthy, nutty, and lemony from the oregano and sumac and the cheese should've been Akawi cheese. The dough should also be slightly thicker and fluffier. It would've been nice if they did the Zaatar on one side and the Cheese on the other side. We saw the table next to us get their's that way and I wish it was offered to us like that as that's my preferred option. I got the gyro wrap and a cheese pizza flatbread. For starters, some of the best seasoned oof I've had in Boston, hands down. The pizza had a nice mix of herbs on the mozzarella and the dough was also surprisingly flavorful. The gyro was about as standard as a gyro as you can get anywhere, but again the seasoning in the sauce and meat was perfect. Near everything was made fresh for me (at 3pm) except the pizza which was clearly recently made and still heated up nicely for me. I got my food quickly as well, especially for only one worker running the whole place. It was a very nice meal and I would go again. Price wasn't too bad for the gyro either - around 12 bucks after tax and if you've ever gotten a gyro in the past two years you'll know that is around a buck less than average for anyone but street vendors. I saw other reviewers recommending the soujouk and cheese flatbread so I had to try it for myself. It was so delicious! I was initially worried that there wouldn't be much sausage or cheese but I was pleasantly surprised that the flatbread was nicely stuffed. There was lots of cheese, sausage, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, and a delicious, tangy, slightly spicy sauce. I thought the flavor profile was quite unique. The bread itself was so flavorful and had the perfect amount of char to it. For $11 on the delivery app this was a good deal! Their other flatbreads are cheaper in price. I look forward to trying more of their menu items. This place is connected to House of Shawarma (flatbread AND shawarma?! Yum) and you can also order some grocery items. read more

Came here for lunch for the first time. They are a small shop but have plenty outdoor seating ! They also provide samples (when available) they warm up by the slice for you to try and that's what ultimately led us to deciding on our dishes. I got the Zatar and cheese my boyfriend got the Soujouk and cheese with a side of Baba Ghannouj and hummus tip: the portions are large ( so we ended up taking home some leftovers) Everything was fresh out the oven and delicious ! Yesterday, I waited over 25 minutes for my food. Meanwhile, a large group of people who arrived after me ordered and began being served. I asked why my order was taking so long (after 15 minutes they hadn't even started it), they said "There are a lot of orders." When I pointed out that I had ordered earlier than those being served, the staff literally shrugged. Last time I ate here, it took nearly 20 minutes for my food (a simple wrap) to be prepared, and I was the only one in the restaurant. I will be honest-- the food is really good. I wanted to like Ajeen and went into it with an open mind, generally I love the cuisine, but I wouldn't recommend it. food/service were both not great.. My bf got the mixed platter which he did not enjoy. I got the falafel platter, it was ok.! We shared a lahmajun flatbread, but were a bit disappointed when we saw that they were all pre-made just waiting to be reheated. We placed an order in the restaurant for takeout. When I asked if I could change my order (they have an amazingly big menu so I was pretty indecisive!), they accepted, but they never offered to refund us the difference when we ended up getting a less expensive item. Super cute place with great service and decent prices. A zaatar pita is $4.50, or $5 and change including tax. It's super herby and not salty at all, a great vehicle for toppings or just a snack on its own. This spot was recommended to us through a friend and we were so happy we tried it out! We were able to place our orders online which saved us time when we went into the store. The menu is clear and the website is easy to use. The employees were very friendly and helpful and had our orders ready for us! Their variety of flatbreads that we tried were muhamara, muhamara with cheese, soujoukh, lahm ajeen, zaatar, zaatar and cheese and they were absolutely delicious. The dough was perfectly cooked and the spices were perfect. The lemon and pepper on the lahmajun made the flatbread taste phenomenal. After having an order from another restaurant cancelled at 9pm tonight, we scrambled to find another restaurant that was still open. Luckily we found Ajeen! They're open late! We ordered the Soujouk and cheese flatbread, mouhammara flatbread, kebab plate and a side of babaghannouj. Order came pretty quickly within 30 minutes. Food was warm and fresh. All of the the bread was so fresh and tasty! Mouhammara was great, soujouk and cheese flatbread delicious, kafta kebab and baba ghannouj very flavorful. All food tasted great. Ajeen is my go-to spot in Allston! I love this place for its authentic Lebanese shawarma, kebab wraps and za'atar. Za'atar flatbread - trying this changed my life! Seriously, because I bought it almost every day after for a month. It's the perfect snack for after-school stress because it has a healthy amount of oil and the flavors are so strong. I like to think of this as a healthier version of pizza because I watch them pull it out of the brick oven! Kebab flatbread - this huge wrap is filled with flavorful beef and lamb slices that melt in your mouth. I am genuinely taken aback by how much flavor is in each bite every time I order this. Soujouk and cheese flatbread - Okay, this wrap is HUGE. and MESSY. in the best way possible. It's so saucy, and the cheese pairs perfectly with the sausage that is stuffed inside! Pickles add a sweet and sour flavor to the profile. Overall, love this flatbread. Hummus & Baba Ganoush - I've tried an order of each, and prefer the baba ganoush more for its perfect smoked garlic flavor. The hummus is also delicious and refreshing-- just not as good as the baba ganoush.
