What a fun and funky place to randomly walk into! I waltzed in to Tea Do to find it absolutely packed (I'm sure a large portion of the patronage was due to the fact that it was Pride, but from what I've read this location is typically pretty busy regardless)! They have three tablet kiosks for self-ordering, and it's an intuitive UI, so the process was simple. Once I made my decision from their extensive list of options and combinations, it took me maybe 2 minutes from start to finish to build and submit my order. I ordered a large taro milk tea and it was everything I had hoped for. Flavorful, not too sweet, and the tapioca was a wonderful consistency. My only thing was that it was so busy and loud that the staff were unable to continuously call out when orders were complete, or you couldn't hear them. I eventually went up to the bar, noticed my drink had been sitting a few minutes, yelled over, "This is mine, thanks!!" Smiled, and then grabbed it. Beyond that? However, I should've checked in about the sugar levels because my drink was aggressively sweet and I'm normally a huge sweet tooth. I couldn't finish the drink because the sugar levels were too much. Tea Do-Boston was the first and only location in MA for a pretty long time, with the chain originating in Philly. Now there's a couple locations, two in Cambridge & one in Lowell ;) I like going to Tea Do whenever I'm craving boba late night; this one closes the latest (11pm Sun-Thurs & 12am FriSat). I usually get an avocado smoothie, Thai tea with lychee jelly, or double black tea with boba. Now, they have self order tablets, like most boba spots. Love that. read more

The Tea is average, but the Onigiri is EVERYTHING Parking is rough, you really can't find decent parking without a struggle. To be expected in the city of Boston. The service is ok! You order your food at a kiosk and it has less to do with your servers and your experience is through an iPad. After ordering your food you wait until they call your name/number and that is all. They have the basic selection of boba/tea, but they pop off and stick out differently with their Onigiri O.M.G. My favorite is the Avocado, but I've tried a few others like the Spam. I now go religiously almost every week and I'm the biggest fan. As for the restaurants interior design. It's cute but compact, which makes for it to be ALWAYS busy. For a small shop it does amazing for yourself, and you can tell the people who go there appreciate the work this restaurant does. I used to frequent Tea Do quite a bit, back in the day. It was my go-to layover treat whenever I was waiting for a train at South Station. It's a close enough walk from the station - Just a hop over a few streets & you're there. I had no idea, back then, how much of a privilege it was to just walk over, walk in, & walk out. Parking in Chinatown is essentially non-existent. A slightly dramatic reenactment of our Tea Do experience: I basically tucked & rolled out of the passenger side of the car. My partner did approximately 17 laps around the block while I battled my way into Tea Do. After patiently waiting for the goods, we reconvened outside on the street corner. I reverse tucked & rolled back into the car with two boba teas in hand. It was certainly worth the detour & the dramatics. Tea Do does an excellent job with their freshly mixed milk tea - It's so flavorful but never too sweet. The boba was perfectly chewy. A master class in boba without the humongous price tag that so many tea shops partake in these days. It was $13 for 2 large teas at Tea Do. Not so bad. My suggestion for the Tea Do team - This joint needs a serious reorganization. When I said that I battled my way in to Tea Do, that really wasn't that dramatic of a reenactment. The shop was packed to the brim with people, all holding tickets & waiting. It was so bizarre, fighting my way through a crowd of people inside to walk directly up to the register & order. Everyone inside was just waiting for their order, not waiting TO order. It was madness! No organization whatsoever. No screen with the number currently being served. No line, no dedicated waiting area. The tables & chairs were pandemonium. I think it would alleviate a lot of stress - on both the workers & the customers - if there was an organization rehaul of the space. I am often in the area several times a week for work and have tried almost every boba place in the Boston area. This happens to be one of my favorites because the boba is always cooked well, service is quick, and the milk tea is light and delicate. I always get the Iced Almond Milk tea with boba and lychee jelly. It has a refreshing light nutty flavor. I come to the Chinatown Tea-Do location so I can grab a boba drink, grab dinner at an authentic Chinese restaurant, and then grab homemade pasties before heading back to my hotel. The area can be tough with congested traffic especially if you are from out of town like me but keep in mind you are in downtown Chinatown. You can walk around and knock out multiple different restaurants in one trip with so many dining/dessert options in this Chinatown area. There is a self ordering kiosk inside and a nice seating area with board games like checkers while you wait. Being in a very busy area in downtown Chinatown you will need to either pay for parking in a private lot or street park. I usually get lucky with street parking and walk my way over. read more

I'm picky about boba and they have a good variety-- fruit and milk tea, smoothies, some food and many add-ins. The space is small but has enough seats to sit down and enjoy your food and drink! So my son had to try this place at the strong recommendation of one of his friends who stated that this is the best boba he's ever had. With such a big statement, we had to make a stop at Chinatown to try this place out. As soon as I ascended the stairs, I was pleasantly surprised with the ambiance of this place. Small and hip, with tables situated next to the window so that you can look at the busy street below as you sip your drink. It was a welcome refuge from the rain and hustle and bustle of Chinatown. I was quite impressed by their wide variety of boba drink offerings, some of which included aloe! That's new for me. But not feeling too bold and wanting some caffeine, I chose the Vietnamese coffee. Thankfully, this was strong but not overly strong. I was able to drink this easily because it wasn't too sweet either. I may try their other drinks next time, like the grasshopper with the green tea jelly. I must have overlooked this because they have so many flavors to choose from! Now is this the best boba ever? Boston boba visit 5 and Tea Do falls somewhere in the middle. They also have food, the onigiri being prepped particularly caught my eye. I've been noticing the sweetness of Boston boba seems to be higher than what I'm used to and that's no different here. Even at 30% sugar, it tastes like at least 70% or higher. However, ice adjustments do feel relevant here, thankfully. Assam Black Milk Tea with Boba - the Assam tea flavor does shine through the sweet, almost nutty flavor which raises the overall sweetness levels. It takes up most of the flavor but some milk prevents the drink from tasting too powerful. Boba was very soft and chewy almost overcooked alongside a sweet taste, so pretty decent. read more

I usually need 2 to feel full, but if I'm feeling extra hungry, go for 3 Takoyaki - I have burned every millimeter of my mouth on these and I have zero regrets. Great spread of toppings Chicken karaage - not the most life changing, but still hits the spot Gyu-don - might be my favorite order next to the onigiri. Tea Do has so many boba options ranging from milk to fruit teas, with lots of customizations and toppings available! Chinatown is always a ton of fun. My girlfriend ordered her usual strawberry tea with 30% sugar, and I ordered the Juliet (pomegranate) tea with 30% and extra rocks. It was great! I would definitely go for a higher sugar content next time around- maybe 50% or 70% to offset the tart pomegranate flavor, but it was an amazingly refreshing drink nonetheless. Visiting a friend in Boston, and we grabbed boba here after getting a meal nearby. A local recommended the place, but I was disappointed. I ordered a mango green tea, and truthfully I didn't really like the flavor of the tea. It was very mild and I expected a stronger kick to it, which brings me to the boba. The pearls were flavorless, soft, and didn't have the chewiness I was expecting. The tea:boba ratio was also off for me; I ran out of boba with about half of my tea left for the small size (you might have better luck with this if you get a large). The location is small with only a few tables that sat right next to the queue to order (so people are walking/standing pretty close to you when you sit down), and the music was loud, so I wouldn't recommend coming here if you want to fire up your laptop and work or have a comfortable convo with a friend. Overall, Tea-Do is a place where your boba itch will be scratched, but isn't the best place you can find in the area: tea, boba, or atmosphere-wise. read more

So I'll admit that this rating is mostly based off of a specific scenario: me finding a place that makes one of my favorite drinks well! Back during college days, there was a different spot in Boston's Chinatown that made avocado smoothies (I was first introduced to this delicious combination then) and I was so disappointed when they closed! While finding myself in Boston recently, I was delighted to find that Tea Do made avocado smoothies! So excited in fact, that I went there soon after arriving to try it out. This is one of those things where I'll seek out different spots that offer it and sometimes even go out of my way to see if it lives up to my expectations (based on that first spot where I became a convert). And unfortunately, I've had my fair share of disappointments since it definitely takes a certain combination of ingredients to make it just right. Tea Do was clearly a winner with their avocado smoothie. I got it with boba (plus 50% sugar) and their boba is very soft and tasty too. It was so good that I went back and got a second one (with coconut jelly this time) before leaving Boston. The coconut jelly is fine though I would say the smoothie is better with boba (or just straight with no toppings). The smoothie itself was consistent and delicious. It seems like a fairly popular drink which surprised me a little bit (though once discovered it doesn't surprise me at all). The first night I went there, several people ahead of me ordered the drink too so it looks like it's not much of a secret. I'd highly recommend trying the avocado smoothie if you like avocados and haven't before. I'm sure Tea Do makes other lovely beverages but I'll definitely be ordering this drink anytime I'm traveling through! Get it and you won't look back! read more

I got the Hulk it's made with Kiwi, green apple, lychee and jasmine tea with aloe. With ice and little sweet. It was good blend and not overly sweet. I enjoyed it! I also got Tropical Twister it's made with Mango, pineapple, passion fruit, jasmine tea and lychee jelly. This was great loved this blend even more! Mild sweet but great taste and very refreshing!
