    Corn flake donut
    Cal L.

Man...Thomas beat me to the first review. I am glad this place opened up in Newton Centre. On one of the side streets away from the hustle and bustle. Service was great. The cashier was friendly and answered all of my silly questions. It's awesome that the downtown area has three donut options. Dunkin, Blackbird, and Pon De Joy. These donuts are true to the Japanese style of mochi donuts. There are twelve flavors and they lean a bit toward the sweeter end. They are slightly bigger than the ones you would get in Asia at Mr. Donut and have eight pieces to each "ring." I love the creativity - taro, strawberry, corn flakes. Salted caramel. Powdered sugar. I wish they had an original glazed. I purchased a dozen for my colleagues tomorrow. Will be back.

    Delicious mochi donuts on display

Yuuuuuummmmmm! This is my first mochi donut and wow it's delicious! I went with maple bacon, cause bacon, and it is delicious. But even if this was a plain donut I'd feel the same way. The dough is the best part, it's so fluffy and fresh, packed with flavor. I was walking around Newton and happened to see this place was opened and popped in. I was greeted warmly and I asked for some flavor recommendations being a new to mochi donuts. He gave a few recommendations and I landed on maple bacon. So glad this place opened up off the square, easy to get to but away from the hustle and bustle a bit. The store is light and bright just like the donuts. I'll be back for more...maybe as soon as today haha!

Mochi donuts from top left to bottom right: mango, taro, cornflakes, black sesame, and milk tea!

Love this small spot. Probably my fave bubble tea around. Mochi donuts are sweet and just the right texture.

Chewy, delicious heaven. A taste of Asian baked goods right here in Boston. Donuts are soft, fluffy and chewy.

One of the best hot chocolates I've had in the area (not too sweet either) and great tasting mochi donuts.

Coffee: it's rare to find coffee that is good enough to drink black. That said, George Howell's drip coffees, pour overs, and espressos are arguably best enjoyed black. Not to say they aren't delicious with milk - they super are - they are just also easily enjoyed sans milk. The flavors are always balanced and clean. The iced coffee and cold brew is also amazing AND they have decaf cold brew The espresso beverages are amazing - cortado, cappuccino, latte.. yum. All of which can also be decaf or half caf. The syrups are all so, so good (and made in house!). A half-lavender oat milk latte is **chef's kiss** Tea: the tea is also super good (MEM Tea, from Cambridge, MA). The menu says fresh, healthy, etc. etc. the only thing fresh about that bagel was the avocado and maybe the egg. Pretty sure it was Oscar Meyer "bacon" or some other form of microwavable bacon (which isn't really bacon ). Which is totally unacceptable in this day and age. And the sweet sauce they put on it was horrendous. My stomach hurt the entire day. If you're not going to use quality bagels and quality bacon, you should not be charging almost $13 a sandwich. your menu should also list the ingredients line by line. I asked the cashier what was on this and he did not mention a disgusting sweet sauce. It's no wonder there's a line out the door for the café down the street and two people inside this café. Although I did not get anything else, but that sandwich, I will not be returning based on that alone. You should be ashamed for even serving that.

Everything I've tried here has been tasty. They have limited seating so I've seen it completely full if someone brings a larger group through the doorway. They have a bathroom that is keypad locked so if you've made a purchase just ask them for the #. The Hokkaido Toast sandwich was light and airy. The signature cream does make it on the sweeter side. It paired so well with the rose matcha latte which I've ordered twice now. The pastries and cakes look so tempting too in the display panels. I don't typically drink coffee but if I ever get there early enough I'll try the Crème Brûlée, Vienna Pistachio, or their signature latte. As a tea lover they also have some additional retail items for you to browse for tea steeping and gift sets. The only downside and maybe that's what makes it not as crazy busy on weekends as Tatte is that I want even more options. You can also order whole cakes too if one slice isn't enough. When it gets warmer I will try some of their smoothies and chilled drinks over ice!
