The seating is open and visible, making it great for people watching.

The freshness of it was great and the staff were super friendly. I am new to Boston restaurants and wanted a bite on the go which got me super super satisfied. The neatness and the smell were amazing. Smelled like my grandmas house.

I really want to give more than 3 stars but there is some tweaking to do. Lamb tacos were ok but too salty and adding the quac probably helped but they charged extra. The pineapple and mint without sugar tasted like flavored water with pulp. Definitely not worth the six dollars! There was zero freshness... please use fresh fruit. I sampled the cheese roll. Small but fresh good. The place was empty. The staff was nice. I think if they changed this, then you'll have regulars. Place was clean.

Taco Azul space looks small from the pictures on social media but it is perfectly sized and very cozy. Their ceiling lights have a fun pattern reminiscent of Bartaco. The restaurant gives very vibey vibes like the average Boston trendy taco spot. Moody lighting and those tiny lamp lights they put on the table. It was quite busy on a rainy weekday so I am very glad to have made a reservation. The server was great with getting to us when we arrived and checking on us initially. I think they made the chips in house and they were very thick but they didn't really stand out to me and the guac was very citrus sour. We didnt even finish it . It was wild cause it was like $16.99. The margaritas are not too sweet with the alcohol hidden within the mix. I would go just for these. The tacos were pretty good with baby tortillas. They were also quite messy and they didn't give you any utensils.... My favorite was the citrus or chipotle chicken, my friend and I both got chicken so I am honestly not sure. I finished off with the ice cream and the tiniest churro which was UBER sweet. This coming from a very very sweet oriented girlie.I would stick with tacos, drinks and maybe a cute little dessert! $$ Food 6.5 Atmosphere 7 Service 6.5 What we had Smokey pineapple margarita Guac and chips Beef birria taco Crispy shrimp taco Citrus chicken taco Chipotle chicken taco Pork carnitas Churro Sundae

This review falls around three and a half to four stars…read more We stopped into Alma Cantina while hanging out in town for the World Cup festivities. With all of the visitors here for the tournament, it's no surprise that the place was hopping. We got carded at the door and made our way inside. We initially found a small table towards the back, which were the only seats available when we walked in. After waiting at the table for several minutes, some seats at the bar opened up and we seized the opportunity to sit there instead. We ordered some margaritas, namely the house margarita and a coconut margarita. They were fine. We also ordered the triple dip (chips with salsa, guac and queso), a quesadilla and the birria tacos. Even though they were extremely busy, the food came out quickly. I didn't try the quesadilla but my boyfriend devoured it, so I think it's safe to say he liked it. The birria tacos were pretty solid. Only two of them on the plate but they were super juicy and a stuffed pretty generously. I liked the triple dip the best though, particularly the queso and guacamole. It's definitely very expensive for everything we got; this is likely because the place is located in a very touristy area of the city. For just two margaritas and three food items, it cost over $100. They also had us pay for everything before we received the food, though I get that this is probably because of how many people were there for the World Cup and ordering drinks to go. Overall a decent spot to have a drink, split a couple of appetizers and watch a game.

I was eager to try a variety of tacos, though I was warned the tacos are quite small. It was a fair warning. I ordered 5 tacos, and expected to leave stuffed, but I was hungry again by 4:00pm. Eeeek. These are 3-bite tacos. Although small, I enjoyed the flavors of all the tacos I tasted. My favorites were the seafood varieties. 1) Baja fish - really crispy batter, creamy, spicy slaw 2) Yucatán shrimp - great texture, and spicy bean-like plantain puree. The pork belly was sweet, but a bit dry. In addition to the picked red onions, it could have used another saucy component. The carnitas and chorizo tacos were also good, but were less interesting for my palate. My five tacos were $20, without any sides or drinks. They have lots of shareable sides and appetizers, and I could easily drop a lot of $ filling up on their tasty bites while lingering in their lovely space.
