    Strawberries and Nutella Crepe
    Christina P.

Was looking for a good dessert place after a lovely dinner near BU but it's almost impossible because there's quite literally 0 things around except ice cream and this lovely gem. Nutella and strawberry crepe (10/10): affordable and packed, they do not skimp on the Nutella or strawberries. Had to share it with another person to finish it all! The cashier was really sweet. I appreciate him being patient with my indecisiveness. They have a wide selection of crepes, ranging from savory to sweet as well as other foods. It's a small cafe, but they made use of their space. It seems like the ideal place to come grab a treat with your friends and chat. Cozy yet very casual. I would love to come back and try their other options!

This place would end-up easily on my frequent-hogging list. Located well next to BU, I was surprised to see 2 other customers before me. That did not stop us from getting our order on time and they were perfect and well-made. What I really like this place, is that it is all about the food and the college kids. When I went to college, which was a long time ago, it was all about value meals. Lots of food and well priced and this place delivers. Although the name is Crispy Crepes, they also have a really good selection of Mediterranean Plates, like falafel, shawarma and more. My mushroom, ham and cheese was good. Both the ham and mushroom were really fresh and you can tell that they were nice and fresh ingredients. The cheese, may have been the Velveeta kind, but I do believe that it made for a great combination with the ham and mushrooms, because it melted well in your mouth. My wife loved her Chicken Shawarma sandwich, which also had very flavorful and nice combination of ingredients. What she liked the most is how they press the pita sandwich, so that it comes out nice and crunchy. My daughter loved her Nutella/Chocolate Crepe, she said that there was plenty of it inside the crepe and the whipped cream was like icing on the cake. Service was fast, again, this is a college place and I think that this is being run to serve food fast and cater to the college crowd that keeps coming in and out. Parking can be challenging, because this is on Commonwealth Avenue a few blocks away from Kenmore Square. We got lucky, because it was Sunday and during Spring Break weekend and not sure about how the rest of the week would look like, but if you live in the area and you want a quick bite, this place is good. The place may need a bit of updating, but as I said in the beginning, this is about food and college kids. Great value for our meal and definitely one that we will come back, when we are in the area! Cheers!

Update: they now take Apple Pay! Still a consistent lunch destination, but now you don't have to worry about paying with a physical card because who likes taking out their wallet anymore anyway. :)

Strawberries and Nutella Crepe Mushroom, Tomato, Spinach and Cheese Crepe Breakfast(I asked for onions as well)

I was in Boston for 2 days for some college visits. Had breakfast here both days. Oh my, it's soooo good! Good quality food, in a very central location -- It's right in the middle of the BU campus. The restaurant itself was straightforward and no-nonsense. Slightly crowded, always clean, with fast service. I Had pancakes and the Tuscany crepe the first day, good mix of sweet and savory. The Tuscany has an amazing pesto flavor, and the potatoes that come with the savory crepes are amazing: crispy, well seasoned, and not at all oily(despite being fried). The pancakes were wonderfully fluffy and sweet, with slightly crispy edges. The second day, I had a savory crepe with mushroom, onion, tomato, spinach, and cheese, along with the classic strawberry Nutella crepe. The mushrooms and onions were beautifully cooked and flavorful, and of course the potatoes that came with were amazing. The strawberry Nutella crepe was also awesome. The crepe was cooked beautifully, and it was not overwhelmingly sweet. Possibly the best crepe I've had in my life. I would happily come back to try all of the things on their menu. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

Came here to get dinner before class. I got a small chicken shawarma dinner plate and a strawberry, banana, Nutella crepe ($20.71 total). For a drink I got a 20 fl Oz Snapple Diet Raspberry iced tea ($2.41). I really enjoyed my chicken shawarma plate. Everything was really flavorful and well seasoned. The rice and potato wedges were fantastic. The chicken was perfectly crispy and also very well seasoned. The diet raspberry Snapple isn't really related to this specific restaurant but I think it's pretty rare to find the 20 fl Oz bottles, usually they're 16.9 fl Oz. So that was kind of nice. The strawberry banana Nutella crepe was incredibly good. I would definitely come back here just to try more of their crepes. The service was super friendly. I got to watch my crepe get made as well. The woman making it did a great job. Overall 5 stars. Would definitely recommend. Great experience all around.

This place is located right on BU campus, making it convenient for students to grab a bite! They currently have outdoor seating. They're popular for their crepes, but they also offer Mediterranean food. My friend and I recently came here for brunch around 10:30am on a Saturday as a last-minute decision. It was pretty empty when we were there but once we left, a large group arrived. The worker there was nice and since we sat outside, he brought our crepes out to our table. The crepes were prepared pretty quickly - while we waited, we took a look at the plant store next door. I ordered the Banana Honey Almond Crepe and my friend got a Super Crepe (comes with 2 sides: Potatoes, Bacon, Ham, Sausage, or Scrambled Eggs). She chose the Banana, Strawberry, and Nutella Crepe with potatoes and bacon. They also came with some whipped cream. The crepes were very light, delicious, and sweet! I'd come here again if I'm in the mood for crepes.

This crepe place is So delicious! My boyfriend and I are visiting Boston and wanted to find the best breakfast joints in town while we were here and we found one of the best. The service was pretty good while the food and coffee was superb! Not pictured: the best vanilla iced coffee I've ever had that got slammed down just as quickly as they made it! I highly recommend the strawberry banana Nutella crepe and French vanilla iced coffee!

This is somewhat of a BU hidden gem. Sitting right on campus, this cafe is not a huge BU student lunch spot in the way it should be. I went in early on a Friday and it was empty (to be fair, it was 10 am) I ordered a Tuscan panini, which was chicken, roasted red peppers, mozzarella, spinach, and pesto. The panini was delicious and exactly what I wanted. Sandwiches are served with home fries, although it is a small portion of potatoes. However, since I personally was just interested in the panini, it seemed like something extra. The outside is so unsuspecting, but inside there's a few tables and counters to sit at. However, the look doesn't at all clue you in to the food which is fantastic. As a BU student, every time I am in here I question why I'm not more often - definitely will be back!

Good place to go for a filling breakfast. A bit small and crowded, so consider ordering ahead or eating outside. The marrakesh plate tasted excellent.

Decent place. Fair price. The banana chocolate crepe was good. Eggs were perfectly cooked. Seating is plenty but tight. If you are hungry and near BU why not? Bon Appetit!

I've been to Crispy Crepes Cafe before many moons ago in my pre-Yelp days, so when it came to coming up with a dinner option before a movie at Regal Fenway Stadium 13, Crispy Crepes came to mind! Located around the corner from Mei Mei's still newish brick & mortar location, Crispy Crepes Cafe is a counter service establishment with a rather good sized dining area hogging perhaps 2/3rds of its footprint. Paintings decorate the walls and there's a rather cozy sitting area in the back corner. From the Signature Crepes menu, I selected the French Dip (roast beef, onions, au jus with brie) $6.95, while one DC requested the Lamb Kabob (Served with salad. Choice of rice, fries or couscous.) $12.50 from the Dinner Plates section. The nice lady behind the counter let us know that if we ordered two items off the Dinner Plates section that we'd get a nutella banana crepe free (deal not available on weekends). But we decided to stick with what we had ordered plus one of the strawberries and nutella sweet crepes $6.35 for dessert. All that plus a bottle of water came up to just over $29, but they also had water station available for those who were fine with good ole Boston water. The crepes were both good and well filled. The dinner plate was generous and prettily plated with carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, and a scoop of hummus topping the salad half. The lamb kabob plate could have potentially filled the appetite of a hungry individual, while the savory crepe the tummy of a lighter weight. But together, along with the sweet crepe, it quite satisfied the three of us, including our sweettooths. After we were done, we busted our own tables and made use of their rather chilly facilities that is available for customers only. Bring some cash in case you don't hit their $7 minimum credit card charge. I'd like to come back sometime to try their Tuscany (pesto-scented chicken, roma tomato, spinach, sundried tomato and buffalo mozzarella) Signature Crepe $6.95 or fruity french toast ($6.25 or $5.25).

Fatteh: The presentation was beautiful, with a delightful array of layers. Between two layers of crispy chips laid the chewy texture of fried mushrooms, the sweetness of cauliflower, the nutty aroma of pine nuts, and the refreshing sweet and sour taste of yogurt--a random combination that offered a different experience with every bite. The cauliflower, in particular, was crisp yet not tough, with a naturally gentle sweetness--a first for me. However, towards the end, the crispy chips became very slightly oily. Sultan's Delight: Perfect as a main course. The beef was stewed to perfection, incredibly tender and flavorful, almost falling apart the moment it touched the knife. It required absolutely no effort, reminiscent of a master butcher skillfully carving up an ox in Zhuangzi莊子, who kept his knife like new over nineteen years. The tamarind brought a slightly fermented, tangy aroma, while the smoked eggplant puree, likely babaganoush, was smooth and creamy with a mild, pleasant smokiness. The lemon juice, however, adds a refreshing touch, creating an interesting layering of acidity. It looked small, but it was surprisingly satisfying. The only downsides were the beef was slightly over-salty and the basil leaves, which seem to serve only a decorative purpose. Baked Alaska: A signature dessert, very popular on social media. Frankly, I came specifically for this, but after eating it, all I can say is, "Who's promoting this?"... The presentation was truly stunning, and the first few bites were quite good. The meringue was was torched to create a thin, burnt crust, resulting in a delicate and light texture, while the coconut ice cream blended with the bitter aroma of coffee. However, the base, a nut tart similar to a five-nut mooncake五仁月餅 filling, was too dense and heavy; the passion fruit syrup was excessively sweet and acidic, even a small amount was cloying, making it a torture by the end. The restaurant tables were a bit uneven and hopefully they will be repaired soon.

The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. Hard to get reservations but worth it! Don't bother driving / trying to find parking unless you're willing to eat a hefty garage fee, it's Back Bay.

Given that Mediterranean cuisine is generally pretty accommodating to that, not having even a falafel option for protein certainly came as a surprise! My first time here, we ended up with the fish and chips and baklava - both were edible but not great, and the best item on the table ended up being the complimentary bread (lots of end pieces, which I'm personally a fan of, but others may feel differently). The fish was uninspired and didn't taste like much, and the chips were steak fries, which lived up to the reputation of being less crunchy and seasoned. I was really excited for the baklava, but it also ended up disappointing. The texture was hardened, like it wasn't fresh, and it was so overpoweringly sweet that we couldn't finish it. On my second visit, the bread was just as good, and we ordered a nice spread: fried zucchini, spanakopita, beef dolmades, rice pilaf, and gyro (without meat). The gyro was sad without falafel or any protein option, but the veggies inside were pretty good. On the other hand, I wasn't a huge fan of any of the appetizers/sides. The fried zucchini was incredibly oily and wet, without much flavor; the rice pilaf did have some sauce on top but wasn't particularly tasty. The spanakopita was decent but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again. I will note, however, that the staff was excellent, attentive and accommodating. The outdoor patio was also quite nice and a beautiful spot to sit on the street and people-watch.
