We visited on a Monday morning and there was a short wait. I ordered potatoes, eggs, and french toast. The crispy potatoes were the star of the breakfast. Maybe one day yelp will do half stars. But until that day comes, for 4.5s we have to ask "what's really missing", besides not being perfect If you think about a Michelin star version of an omelette, it becomes clear that there's no way to make everyone coming into a breakfast diner happy with that result. Some people just want brass tacks, they don't want spices. This place gets 5 stars because there's something for everyone to have this as a "regular breakfast spot". There's a dish here where brass tacks is what you want. And $20 will get you farther than a lot of other places in the vicinity. A good American institution. Not everything is mind blowing but it's exactly what it should be. read more

This cafe was close to the hotel we were staying at for a week. Loved walking over here to grab a quick bite to eat! Bagels were great! Breakfast sandwich was awesome. And the coffee....hot and delicious! We went a couple times while we were in Boston! read more

Food: Very normal American breakfast, nothing special. Got the Eggspañol breakfast (with chorizo), home fries, which was very fine overall (would suggest to split between 2 people b/c the portions are quite big). The real star was the corn muffin (and their pastries) though (SO good lol). The coffee was very average, would not get it again. Service: Food was fast, no complaints! Ambiance: It's a small hole-in-the-wall place in a pretty area of Cambridge. The restaurant is really small, wouldn't have found out about it if my friend didn't invite me! read more

I like their BLT and I like to add avocado for an extra charge. I always see construction workers eating here it's a real small mom and pop shop business. And people in the back know what they're doing. Good hole in the wall! I never have been able to get the online ordering to work so I just call in and my orders ready in 5 minutes read more

Very kind gentleman at counter. Food was great! Usually when I add in more ingredients my bread gets all soggy by the time I eat it but it was nice and toasty. Area was neat and tidy and will definitely return when I visit again. read more

If you're looking for breakfast spots in East Cambridge, I highly recommend this spot. The staff are extremely welcoming and make you feel like you're eating at a relative's home. My favorite things to get are the chocolate muffins, best I've ever had. And I also love the quesadillas. The place is a favorite for blue collar workers so expect to eat next East Cambridge neighborhood heroes. read more

I have gotten food from Sweet Touch a few times and it is a good spot for breakfast or lunch. The location is conveniently located in East Cambridge near the Lechmere green line stop. There is also plenty of street parking along Cambridge Street. There is a good amount of indoor seating. I ordered through Too Good To Go for pickup. Most times I have gotten a variety of muffins. This time, I got 4 corn muffins. They are large and pretty good quality. The menu has plenty of typical breakfast options (eggs, omelettes, bagels, muffins, etc.). It looks like a comfortable spot for breakfast, so I hope to go eventually for a sit down meal. For breakfast items, it is priced reasonably as well. Overall, I definitely recommend Sweet Touch if you are looking for a convenient location, a comfortable diner-like atmosphere and plenty of breakfast options. Will be back again. read more

Ok, I have to say this place was great for breakfast! It didn't look very impressive at first, but there was a line for a reason. I ordered the egg whites breakfast which came with toast and home fries. My friends ordered the pancake breakfast and a breakfast sandwich. The food came out quick and tasted good. My friends also told me their breakfast was good. I noticed the line was consistent the entire time I was having breakfast. My friends pancakes were still not done. At about 5 minutes he noticed the manager who was extremely apologetic and immediately rectified the missing pancakes. He was so apologetic he continued to check up every few minutes. Great diner style breakfast food. The breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and bacon was enjoyed. The omelets are griddle style, so make sure to ask for well done if you want the inside cooked fully. Greek omelet was stuffed with fresh spinach and tomatoes (I got without the feta) and the home fries are well cooked and seasoned well with black pepper. Very good prices, especially compared to other breakfast places. read more

07/13/19 Came in here to hang out with our luggage in tow till our Airbnb is ready, A very nice local spot to have breakfast. I guess we made the employee's a bit uncomfortable staying there we had no idea that they closed at 1 pm So we apologize for that. We just got some drinks here and wanted to come back on Sunday for breakfast. Nope they were closed on Sunday even thou the Yelp app said they were open. We came back on Monday and got some breakfast I got The Restaurant Burrito for $9 wow this burrito was big stuffed with ham, sausage, bacon, onions and peppers. No salsa I guess it's an East Coast thing, in Los Angeles all burritos comes with salsa. my friend got the French Toast he said it was pretty good. read more

I found this from Too Good To Go and it's totally a hidden gem! I really like this spot and it's right around the corner from my apartment. It's unassuming but on a busy corner. The coffee is good but the food is actually really good. It reminds me of diner food (good size portions and comfort food). I love getting the muffins for an afternoon snack. Walked past a lot of chain places trying to find a local spot to experience what it's actually like to live in and around Boston. Came across Sweet Touch Cafe on our way to Harvard and it did not disappoint. Huge serving sizes, great prices, friendly staff, and fast service. Undoubtedly one of my favorite breakfast spots I've ever been to - if not my absolute favorite. It's also a nice, quiet atmosphere inside. It's not a tourist trap where you'll wait amidst families of screaming kids. Awesome spot I highly recommend. read more

This is our new breakfast spot! We ordered the Greek omelette which came with toast and home fries and the French toast with scrambled eggs and bacon. The omelette was absolutely delicious. The home fries were soft and had a great sear. I wasn't a huge fan of the French toast. It had flavor but the bread didn't absorb the egg batter as much as I would have liked. The scrambled eggs weren't anything special but the bacon was absolutely delicious! Also, I wish the sauce bottles were cleaner. I went to go use Tabasco sauce and noticed how grimey the bottle was. All in all though, Sweet Touch has good food, amazing portions, and get prices! read more

Great little breakfast spot. Iced coffee was perfect. Get the home fries- well seasoned taters that have very little oil, delicious! I had a veggie omelette and toast too. Hubby had the French toast and an overflowing plate of bacon. Your belly will be full for hours. I hope that I have time to stop again while I'm in town. read more

I came here on a weekday morning to quickly grab a breakfast sandwich. I ordered a bacon egg & cheese on an English muffin. Took a good 10 minutes to come out, which is understandable since it was fairly crowded and probably made to order. The sandwich was pretty large which I'm glad since it was $5. However, one half of the English muffin was completely burnt and it was too gross to even eat. Some of the charred pieces fell onto the egg and it was hard to pick them off. Not the biggest deal, but it's not that hard to toast bread properly. read more

If it wasn't for the screaming of my hunger pains I probably would have taken one look around this place and left. But let me tell you - don't judge this place on looks alone. Their food is legit and it is delicious. I had the best eggs, potatoes & bacon of my life. Cooked to perfection and served piping hot with just the right amount of spices. Serving size was spot on and the coffee...oh the coffee. Not only do they make it for you (man I love being back on the East Coast) but it was the hottest & tastiest coffee I have had since I have been back from CA. LOVE this place. If you happen to see the word "bacon" randomly inserted into sentences in this review, it's because I'm in a state of bacon-bliss right now thanks to Sweet Touch Cafe. In my never-ending journey to mix up the lunch hour a bit, I took a stroll down Cambridge St. today (bacon) and this was the first place I found. I was pleasantly surprised that people were still ordering (bacon) breakfast at noon on a weekday, but I wasn't quite in the mood for it, so I ordered a BLT (bacon) roll-up with a side of spicy fries and an iced coffee. While waiting, I had a chance to take in the decor (bacon) and was again impressed. The cafe is clean and orderly, with dark red tables and booths, and pictures on all the walls. Definitely the kind of place I wouldn't mind grabbing a coffee (bacon) at and sitting down to read for a while. After no more than 5 minutes, my food was ready, and i hauled the suspiciously heavy brown bag back to my office. I thought for a minute that they must have given me the wrong order, but soon discovered that the portions (bacon) they give here are just huge. My $2 side of spicy fries was enough for two people, and they were fried to perfection, crispy and warm and oh-so-good. Then came the BLT wrap, which must have been a foot long, with strips of juicy bacon poking out of the top. From the first bite i was sold. Sweet Touch Cafe has perfected the art of bacon-frying. It was exactly the right amount of chewiness and crispiness at the same time, but not too greasy or salty. If this is the kind of food they serve with their breakfasts too, I'm going to be back here every single day for a bacon-egg-and-cheese bagel to start my morning off right. read more

Weekends are always better with brunch!!! I love being able to take a short walk over to this place for a mighty breakfast to start the day. I've tried their omelettes, combo plates, pancakes and waffles. Each dish will leave you happily full on eggs, bacon, sausage patties and all the coffee you need to get a kick of energy. You can tell from just the pictures posted. There are plenty of seating and many folks take orders to go. I believe there is a restroom as well. I enjoy this place a lot and its warm cozy atmosphere. I don't know why it's taken me so long to write a review for this place but I absolutely love getting breakfast takeout from here. The portions are always amazing, price is really good, and it's an easy location to find. If you are planning on dining there, just note that it's not a big restaurant... there are maybe 7-8 tables. Food-wise, I usually get the #5 breakfast combo with pancakes but the french toast is bomb too! Not soggy, just the way I like it. The staff is very friendly too and it's right down the street from the Lechmere train stop. If you are looking for a no frills place to grab a bite in the morning, I highly recommend trying this. read more

Food is good . The workers are great ! So I love to leave tips . I am hearing from multiple sources that are customers and staff members (not stating if they still work there or not ) that the owner takes their cash tips to keep for himself Like really ?! Who does that to their own employees that help keeps the business running ?!!! Some staff may even refuse it because they don't receive it anyways . So sad . Be aware of this before handing over your tip , that the boss takes it ! read more

Great sandwiches and fair prices. There is a lot of variety on the menu, but I usually order the turkey sandwich. My food is always fresh and tastes good. It's not a fancy place, and locals don't come here for the ambiance. Yeah I don't see what all the hype is about. I had a fish sandwich with fries and it definitely wasn't anything to right home about. Whoever is in the kitchen is a weirdo, I ordered the sandwich with tater sauce and cheese and they put tarter and CHEESE ON BOTH SIDES of the bread....that spoiled the sandwich. The fries were definitely frozen because they tasted like one of the cheap store brands you'd buy at the supermarket.
