I used to come here a few years back for a crack sandwich every Sunday before heading to my axe throwing league across the street. Then I stopped going to the league when I lost a finger so stopped going here. A year later I began coming back and sandwiches were still awesome and people behind the window were great in the mornings. But the past year or so it has gone downhill for me unfortunately. It can take a half hour to get a sandwich. It's so slow to even order at times with one register and so many online orders that they can't keep up with in store it seems. If you DO order online, you can't call and cancel even if time jumps to ANOTHER half hour for sandwich or pizza. I don't know. It's just quite frustrating just trying to get your food and after today I just think I'm giving up. After ordering a sandwich on sourdough, turns out it wasn't toasted or griddled or whatever so the bread was limp and honestly looked like the loaf wasn't cooked all the way through. Spot on with amount of cheese and meat - always, but cmon.. Then I decided to try a blueberry muffin. I kid you not.. No blueberries to be found. None. Peep the pic. Why am I paying this much money after waiting a half hour and missing the key ingredient? They gotta get it together. I don't know if it's after they moved from the window shop or have trouble keeping up with the volume of orders, but I'll be taking a break. I saw that something you have to try when you come to Boston is a breakfast sandwich from Mike and Patty's. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I got breakfast sandwich and added bacon. It was so good. All the components are cooked perfectly. And it's the perfect breakfast on the go! I also have to say that I had excellent service at the location I went. It's a small location mostly for ordering to go. Since it's really just the counter inside and most people will order then wait outside. But it's in the Bow market and there were some tables outside. This was... maybe the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. We stopped here today on a rainy Sunday morning and I'm not even kidding, this sandwich cured my sleep deprivation, fixed my attitude, and lifted my spirits. It was simply AMAZING!!! The hasbrown was warm, crispy, and fluffy on the inside. It was a bit hard to find parking but we managed after a couple of circles around Union. This small sandwich shop is a reliable and solid spot for a classic breakfast sandwhich. I had the classic which simply came with an egg and cheese on an english muffin. Truly greater than the sum of its parts. I had a BLT with an egg added. That's gonna taste ok anywhere, really, it's hard to mess up. But this was excellent. I have tried this place before over at High Street but thought to give them another shot at this location. I recommend putting an online order ahead to save yourself time waiting for your order to be ready. The wait was about 10-15 minutes, which was not too bad. I ordered the breakfast grilled crack and the classic with sausage added. The classic tasted like you would expect. The English muffin was fluffy, and the egg was slightly runny, which was enjoyable but messy for a sandwich. I personally love that, so I found it enjoyable but overpriced for what you are getting. The sausage itself tasted like sausage, but nothing stood out apart from that. The breakfast grilled crack was as good as I remembered. The sourdough complemented well, and they had buttered and fried it to perfection. The cheese was melted and paired well with the bacon. Although I prefer sausage over bacon, I do believe this sandwich does a good job in making me appreciate bacon more. Once there you go to the counter to pick it up (you can also order there)... there is no indoor part but there is plenty of outdoor seating if you make a reservation w Bow market and if not still benches in the area to use! The breakfast sandwiches from M&Ps are not your typical cafe-type sandwiches. They were deceivingly filling and make a fast breakfast or lunch! And very reasonably priced too. The Grilled Crack had a fried egg, melted gruyere (one of my favorite cheeses but so uncommon for breakfast sandwiches), and bacon that tasted like prosciutto! My favorite sandwich though had to be the Squashed Beef, which had a generous portion of roast beef and onion jam that tasted like caramelized onions. The breakfast burrito was also way better from the previous ones I've had, which are heavy/kinda bland. The M&Ps one tasted healthier and came with fresher tasting ingredients like salsa verde and crispy hash browns. Finally got to stop in at M&P @ Bow Market and it did not disappoint! I'm a huge fan of the original Bay Village location and am psyched that this location is closer for me to get to. I ordered my favorite go-to, the Classic and it was on point, as was my coffee. However it was only lukewarm at best, and I think it suffers from steaming itself in the aluminum foil while waiting around for me. (I requested 8:45 pickup and Yelp gave me a window of 8:45 to 9:05??) I might try it again if and when I can order on site and wait around for it, and eat it right away.
