This small sandwich shop is a reliable and solid spot for a classic breakfast sandwhich. I had the classic which simply came with an egg and cheese on an english muffin. I did not have high expectations but it was pretty good! I love that the yolk was runny and I feel like they have mastered that as me and all my friends had a runny yolk. I hope to come back and try one of the more specialized sandwhiches. read more

Truly greater than the sum of its parts. I had a BLT with an egg added. That's gonna taste ok anywhere, really, it's hard to mess up. But this was excellent. Grilled fresh sourdough cut just the right thickness, bacon not over or under done, great fresh heirloom tomatoes and an egg that was still runny but not too wet and messy. Better than I expected. Will def come back next time I'm in Boston. read more

This location is one of my new favs because of the outdoor seating options. With the warm weather that's defiantly a must and I find it's not as busy as the other Mike and Pattys locations. The staff was nice but they are confined to a storefront still so there isn't too much interaction. These have got to be some of the best breakfast sandwiches in Boston. I have tried this place before over at High Street but thought to give them another shot at this location. I recommend putting an online order ahead to save yourself time waiting for your order to be ready. The wait was about 10-15 minutes, which was not too bad. I ordered the breakfast grilled crack and the classic with sausage added. The classic tasted like you would expect. The English muffin was fluffy, and the egg was slightly runny, which was enjoyable but messy for a sandwich. I personally love that, so I found it enjoyable but overpriced for what you are getting. The sausage itself tasted like sausage, but nothing stood out apart from that. The breakfast grilled crack was as good as I remembered. The sourdough complemented well, and they had buttered and fried it to perfection. The cheese was melted and paired well with the bacon. Although I prefer sausage over bacon, I do believe this sandwich does a good job in making me appreciate bacon more. Overall, the sandwiches are pretty good, but slightly pricey for what you get as the portion did not really fill me up. read more

Outstanding food. We went to the Bow Street Market and found them by mistake. Ordered the next day for brunch. Had the crack and regular sandwich, regular and iced coffee. Wow wow wow. The delivery for brunch was not as fantastic as the fresh Bow Market experience, I'm not sure it is possible to make a better sandwich than hbd Crack except add more bacon. They earned their best of Boston spot, damn good food and people. read more

I've heard so many great things about Mike and Pattys and finally got to try it for myself! We went to their Somerville location and ordered ahead online... it was ready in 15 minutes. Once there you go to the counter to pick it up (you can also order there)... there is no indoor part but there is plenty of outdoor seating if you make a reservation w Bow market and if not still benches in the area to use! We got the fancy sandwich and it was phenomenal ... I highly recommend adding the hash brown! I got the bread it comes with but would probably ask for sourdough or English muffin next time. It was delicious and loaded with flavor and ingredients but the sandwich wasn't too messy to eat and the bread didn't get too soggy even with the different sauces. Been to the main location downtown many times and even though that one has evolved more and more into a high throughput production, at least the quality is still good. Here however, the two ladies couldn't have provided worse service. I stood for 9 minutes before they even acknowledged me. Spoke in a whisper without eye contact. AMAZING. This place has amazing reviews and they are all accurate. I placed an order online and it was ready so quick! Hard to find parking around the bow market tho. I got the Carolina caviar which is fried egg, sausage, and pimento cheese on their house made English muffin. I added potatoes which ended up being a hash brown (but I ain't complaining! It was amazing) and some diced red onions. Omg when I bit into this sandwich my eyes fluttered. It was so flavorful and hot and soft and so much going on. The english muffin is so soft and perfect. I don't even like English muffins. The egg and sausage were great. I loved my addition of the hash brown. And the onions gave a little crunch. The pimento cheese was amazing!! The breakfast sandwiches from M&Ps are not your typical cafe-type sandwiches. They were deceivingly filling and make a fast breakfast or lunch! And very reasonably priced too. The Grilled Crack had a fried egg, melted gruyere (one of my favorite cheeses but so uncommon for breakfast sandwiches), and bacon that tasted like prosciutto! My favorite sandwich though had to be the Squashed Beef, which had a generous portion of roast beef and onion jam that tasted like caramelized onions. The breakfast burrito was also way better from the previous ones I've had, which are heavy/kinda bland. The M&Ps one tasted healthier and came with fresher tasting ingredients like salsa verde and crispy hash browns. Both sandwiches and the burrito don't skimp on flavor and are excellent for a bite while walking around the area. read more

Hate to be that guy but I was looking forward to trying out a Mike & Patty's sandwich all week after hearing so much about it, but I was massively disappointed when I opened my sandwich. Barely one piece of bacon, forgot my avocado (it happens) and the egg was overcooked. They must've been slammed on Sunday morning but man, I was real sad and was too far by the time I opened it to stroll back and ask for a refund/a new one. Finally got to stop in at M&P @ Bow Market and it did not disappoint! I'm a huge fan of the original Bay Village location and am psyched that this location is closer for me to get to. I ordered my favorite go-to, the Classic and it was on point, as was my coffee. (Side note- thanks to first trying it at Mike & Patty's, I've become hooked on Speedwell coffee and often brew it at home.) This place held a lot of promise and the fancy sandwich sounded good. However it was only lukewarm at best, and I think it suffers from steaming itself in the aluminum foil while waiting around for me. (I requested 8:45 pickup and Yelp gave me a window of 8:45 to 9:05??) I might try it again if and when I can order on site and wait around for it, and eat it right away. I've been meaning to try their Boston location but guess I made it to Bow Market first. There was no line to order as most people ordered online beforehand. I ordered the classic which is fried egg, cheese, sausage (for an extra charge) on an English muffin. The order was ready quickly and there is plenty of outdoor seating space at Bow Market to enjoy your meal. While the fried egg makes it a bit messy to eat, the sandwich was worth the mess. This place is a MUST for Boston breakfast. Delivery is swift and the way they wrap the sandwiches, they're usually hot on arrival. I recommend ordering from them directly to avoid food upcharges via other apps like Ubereats. Can't go wrong with the grilled crack, fancy, or the baller sandwiches. It's by far my favorite place to order breakfast in Boston. Recommend their Bay Village location as well, but this one is closer to home. Only thing I wish they'd change is the delivery fee. Bay Village is free above a certain amount but that deal doesn't seem to apply to the Somerville location on their site. read more

History

Established in 2008.

Started by eclectic restaurateur Michael Fitzhenry and co-worker Patricia Sinaiko, formerly of South End Formaggio fame; Mike & Patty's has come to be known as one of Boston's most unique, must-stop food shops. Acclaimed for a diverse, delectable line-up of breakfast and lunch sandwiches, the consistent attention from local and national media outlets is re-iterated by their outstanding Yelp rating and the droves of regulars and tourists that can't help but stop by each time they are in the city. We have recently launched a second Mike & Patty's here at Bow Market, Somerville - at the heart of Union Square! Bow Market has quickly become a hub for the area's most creative and collaborative.
