I'm so glad I came here. After moving to the north east I really wanted to have a classic diner experience and this totally delivered. I was asking for recommendations from my new classmates and Kelly's kept coming up. The patrons were hungry, the staff were friendly, and the pancakes were maybe the best ones I've had at any restaurant in the whole city. And maybe top five of all time anywhere. This is the perfect place to grab a big diner meal. The pancakes are wonderfully buttered and fluffy. The home fries were also excellent. I'll say the price is a little much if you just want the most food for your buck but for this area and the quality amount of food you get it's worth it. An OG diner space, no frills. Often packed. We came the day after Christmas and luckily beat the crowd at 10 AM. The waitress was super nice. My husband and I each enjoyed a breakfast sandwich on bagels with two side pancakes. The pancakes were so soft and fluffy. I'd recommend chocolate chip with banana for that. For my sandwich, I got a turkey bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything (grilled)! There is SO much on the menu I'd definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for that familiar, nostalgic diner breakfast. read more

The inattentive service and lack of welcoming hospitality soured what could've been a decent breakfast. Most likely will not return due to poor treatment. Food: I did really enjoy the linguica sausage but the rest of the plate was pretty plain when considering the price point. Service: Past the friendly greeting when we came in, we felt like unvalued patrons. There wasn't a wait to get seated but the waitress still took over 5 minutes to come to our table. When they did it felt like they were trying to use as little time as possible with us. We weren't offered waters or refills on our coffee and the waitress turned her back on us as I was still talking to her asking for the check. This is far from the hospitality I was hoping for from such a long standing restaurant. What hurt the most was seeing friendly prompt service all around us for other patrons. We decided to try out Kelly's Diner this weekend and it was absolutely amazing! The staff was extremely kind and attentive, the vibes were amazing, and the food was DELECTABLE! My eggs were cooked to a perfect over medium and their home fries are so so so unique! We also got chocolate chip pancakes (not pictured), which were soft, buttery, pillowy goodness. We are talking about full blown diner with stools at the counter, booths and even individual wall-o-matic juke boxes at each booth.... Right out of the 50's. I had to have the four egg omelette. That was the first time I have seen it before. It caught my eye. I am sure it was built into the price. I passed on the coffee at 4.29. Even if it was bottomless. My jacket wasn't even off when the hot coffee arrived at our table. Water was brought to us without asking and the food arrived shortly after ordering. The menu is packed with all the nostalgic diner staples--pancakes, eggs, burgers, ice cream frappes, and of course, bottomless hot coffee. I had the classic French Toast, and my partner ordered Chocolate Chip Pancakes. We both enjoyed multiple refills of their bottomless coffee. I had to remove a star because the French Toast was not my favorite. It was too eggy, and not enough cinnamon flavor that makes it a sweet breakfast treat. The few bites of my partner's pancakes I did enjoy, and would order those again. But what really makes this place stand out is the staff. I really love this place. Today I watched our waitress, who was wearing black latex gloves. She cleaned a table and then brought us our food WEARING THE SAME GLOVES. I have never seen any of the waitresses wearing these gloves and for good reason. The potential for cross contamination and illness is so ridiculously high. Going from cleaning to handling money to handling food is actually gross. If you wear gloves you need to change them between every task. Wearing the same pair all day causes sweat and bacteria. If the glove tears then all of that gets spread across the restaurant. This is why waitresses don't and shouldn't wear gloves. I will never sit with this waitress again. Just ewwwww. read more

I must say it was very flavorful and the fries were the best fries I have had in a long time. Most of the food dishes that came out were also large in portion size. The scrambled eggs were creamy, the bread was buttery and crispy and the chocolate chip pancakes were the best part.
