My husband and I each enjoyed a breakfast sandwich on bagels with two side pancakes. The pancakes were so soft and fluffy. I'd recommend chocolate chip with banana for that. For my sandwich, I got a turkey bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything (grilled)! The inattentive service and lack of welcoming hospitality soured what could've been a decent breakfast. Most likely will not return due to poor treatment. Food: I did really enjoy the linguica sausage but the rest of the plate was pretty plain when considering the price point. Service: Past the friendly greeting when we came in, we felt like unvalued patrons. There wasn't a wait to get seated but the waitress still took over 5 minutes to come to our table. When they did it felt like they were trying to use as little time as possible with us. We weren't offered waters or refills on our coffee and the waitress turned her back on us as I was still talking to her asking for the check. This is far from the hospitality I was hoping for from such a long standing restaurant. What hurt the most was seeing friendly prompt service all around us for other patrons. We decided to try out Kelly's Diner this weekend and it was absolutely amazing! The staff was extremely kind and attentive, the vibes were amazing, and the food was DELECTABLE! My eggs were cooked to a perfect over medium and their home fries are so so so unique! We also got chocolate chip pancakes (not pictured), which were soft, buttery, pillowy goodness. That was the first time I have seen it before. It caught my eye. I am sure it was built into the price. I passed on the coffee at 4.29. Even if it was bottomless. I really love this place. Today I watched our waitress, who was wearing black latex gloves. She cleaned a table and then brought us our food WEARING THE SAME GLOVES. I have never seen any of the waitresses wearing these gloves and for good reason. The potential for cross contamination and illness is so ridiculously high. Going from cleaning to handling money to handling food is actually gross. If you wear gloves you need to change them between every task. Wearing the same pair all day causes sweat and bacteria. If the glove tears then all of that gets spread across the restaurant. This is why waitresses don't and shouldn't wear gloves. I will never sit with this waitress again. Just ewwwww. read more

This is the worst food in the best location in Boston. Everything on the menu is mediocre, including their "famous" eggs Benedict which has no flavor at all. Get a new menu and a new chef. I Hardly ever order a hamburger at a restaurant, however, I decided to try a mushroom burger at this place. When the burger came out, it was so huge I had to cut it into pieces. I must say it was very flavorful and the fries were the best fries I have had in a long time. Most of the food dishes that came out were also large in portion size. This is a local place with many regular customers. The staff work extremely hard to serve their customers so tip them well if you can. I'll be back on a Friday for fish and chips. On its own, the food was neither bad nor memorable. The service was appropriately surly but charming considering the establishment. However, the entire experience reeked of contempt for the customer. On the sign outside the door, it says cash or venmo, but the waitress informed the table next to us that venmo is not possible when the owner is not present. The menu shows prices that are about 3 dollars lower than the actual prices (menu says prices subject to change) which means they were just too lazy to print new menus. I would have some grace for maybe $1, but 3 bucks on a $15 sandwich isn't appropriate. If the menu says diet coke, you should probably serve diet coke and not generic off brand cola. The Kelly Super is great if I just want a little bit of everything on one plate. It comes with a choice of French toast or pancakes, toast, home fries, eggs, and sausage or bacon. I always get the sausage as each bite is always satisfying. The home fries are nice and soft, while the toast comes with butter on top already. None of the food is anything too special, but they are always solid. They give great portions, so I end up leaving the diner feeling full and satisfied. The service is pretty decent considering how busy they are. Food is always served pretty quickly, which is great.
