Nice neighborhood breakfast Cafe! I enjoyed my scrambled eggs and sausages and home fries. Yum! I came here with my family. Food was really good and all I can say is come here if you're in the Medford area. Seems like a go to spot for the neighborhood. And bring cash they don't accept credit card. read more

Came here on a Sunday for breakfast and had a decent time! The place was pretty quiet and there were only a few other occupied tables which made service pretty fast. The space was diner-esque and felt relatively clean which overall was nice. Our orders were taken pretty quickly and the food was out in a reasonable time as well. Prices were a bit steep honestly for the price, but quality was decent. I enjoyed the pancakes the most - good size and fluffy. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming back again for brunch. Parking was easy to find on a Sunday and the vibes felt really nice overall - thanks, Classic Cafe! read more

I'm a regular here as this is my go to diner spot near my apt. No frills, clean, corner diner in a neighborhood setting. Food and service is consistently good. Parking is ample and there's almost always a table available. Cash only, ATM is inside. I order the Denver omelette with cheddar and it's generous on the fillings without overwhelming the egg ratio. It's about the size of half the plate. Home fries are pretty good. Coffee is diner coffee. They also make a great tuna melt with perfectly buttered/griddled bread if you're in the mood for lunch. We were there last week. 2 breakfasts $35, ridiculous. It gets worse, they take cash only. My sister was eating breakfast and she was asked if she wanted it boxed up, while she is still eating. Decent Irish breakfast, two eggs, black and white sausage, regular sausage, a rasher of ham, baked beans, but no grilled tomato. I'd get it again. Very quick service on this Monday morning at 8 am with very few customers in the restaurant yet. They didn't have the soda bread usually standard in most restaurants with the Irish, but I never get that anyway, opting for something more interesting and tastier. Toast choice here was limited to white and wheat, and not even a very good wheat bread. Overall a decent small breakfast place. Already had my coffee this morning so I didn't try theirs. Updating, only because lunch is not great. Definitely stick to breakfast. All of the lunch meals we ordered today were no better than what you would get in a high school cafeteria. Bland, plain, boring. The wraps 6.50+ come with a small snack size bag of lays chips. No choice of bread when you order sandwiches, so you get what you get and you don't get upset type of deal. Order was wrong, they apologized, but I do like if they get it wrong, to take something off, or offer a free cookie or something? Other just small tip for the place. My kids got to hear about shootings, murder, and teenage abductions during lunch. Change the channel. I don't think you need to have Nick on, but a lot of people try and not have their younger kids listen to news reports about murders and terrorist attacks. Also, don't charge 2.50 for a kids drink. Give them a drink with their meal. read more

I ordered delivery/take out from here & was pretty excited for a full Irish Breakfast. I noticed a muffin in the bag & was confused -- I didn't order one. There was a note, "sorry no beans -- I will make it up to you next time" Now. This was the sweetest thing I've ever encountered & honestly the food was DELICIOUS & I didn't even need the muffin they so kindly included -- the note & sentiment was so beyond any expectation. I cannot wait to be a repeat customer here & someday I'll get to try the beans with my breakfast. Thank you for your extra touch & consideration! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough for the simple fact that they absolutely care about everu plate that leaves their kitchen! read more

Worse Diner by far. Hash omelette was dry and tasteless. We were wondering why Mimi kept pushing the fruit bowl on us? Turns out their fruits were rotting and they wanted to make extra $6 before throwing out the entire batch. How dare you serve that to my family....shame on you!!! The other waitress doesnt speak English at all, she had to consult with someone else to clarify that we needed more napkins. BTW, it's CASH ONLY!!! No where is there proper signage, but we're to assume not all places take plastic in this day and age! Go figure? My grilled cheese sandwich was made with American cheese, not the cheddar like ALL other diners, but again, i'm to assume the rest of the world doesnt operate that way! Im not sure how this place got the rating they have...i'm sure it's shady like their ATM (cash only) scam! Avoid at all cost....We're going back to the other 8-10 local diners that outweighs this place on a bad day!!! You FAILED CLASSIC CAFE!!! Grade: F- read more

CASH ONLY!!! Not the worst place i've eaten, but certainly lacking in quality....$6 for a Nutella waffle with no sides, $5.50 for Grilled cheese with no extra sides....I'd rather be at IHOP! Good luck surviving....you've been warned! read more

Fast, simple, good food with a decent price these days. The place is kept clean, and they work fast to clean up tables which I appreciate as someone who worked in the restaurant industry for years.

It was good with an asiago bagel. The prices have skyrocketed- breakfast items are all over $10. $13 for two slices of french toast, $11 for a bacon, egg and cheese. Most menu items are around $20. Yelp, change the price point for Dempsey's. The check came with an automatic 18% + tip suggestion. That irks me. 15% is an acceptable tip. I used to recommend Dempsey's. Not anymore. There is nothing special about it anymore.

I'm feeling guilty writing this review because of how much we liked the waitress as a person, but I…read morethink it should be shared. The whole experience almost reminded me of visiting a family that I'm not a part of...Uncomfortable and confusing. Everyone else was getting up and helping themselves to things (like coffee), so we assumed the coffee was self-service. (Since the waitress was doing double duty as the cook, seemed even more logical). My husband got up and started to get some coffee, and was immediately shooed away. It was a little bit embarrassing. The tables weren't dirty, but a few of them had personal items on them, like hats and papers and coats. Coat rack near our table was also full, but there were only 4 other people in there besides us, so I was wondering where all the coats came from. We both ordered breakfast sandwiches because the dish I wanted to order they didn't have, and the waitress said they come with coffee. (I was confused on whether we were getting coffee with the meal because she felt bad they were out of stuff, or if that's just how it works). I only got water, but we were charged for the one coffee. Not a huge deal, but not what we were told. The sandwiches were decent, but not better than what you can get at any diner/greasy spoon or cafe/bakery to go order. The other patrons all knew the waitress, and as that became more obvious, we realized why they were able to help themselves to coffee. One guy was even going behind the kitchen counter for something. I wouldn't go back, just because it's a strange place. I wonder how they stay open. Worth noting that it's cash only. ATM is available inside.

She was sittting in the dinning area n looked like a customer that was about to dine.(Totally Unprofessional) It was not only until she asked me if I needed help that I knew she was the waitress. I asked if she was open bc she looked shocked to see customers.(place is across from CHA clinic was empty I see why). Its 11:00am she says yeah we close at 1:00pm as if it were almost going to be 1pm and she did not want o take care of us. I ordered french toast with a "side" of eggs, almost immediately she says oh I don't have french toast I have an issue with my fridge.but if you really want it I can make a batch for you.(awkward). So I say yes and I,also get a side of eggs. In the meantime she tells me I can get coffee which is self serve by the way. (Lazy, but I'm still supposed to tip you). Cups were nasty unsanitary not clean at all. So we're the coffee canisters. When my french toast came it was drenched in nutmeg. Not cinnamon discusting!! Immediately I was disappointed. My eggs were fine but.... When the check came she gives me an unitemized receipt I tell her to break it down. She charged me for the side of eggs $2.50 per egg. The side of eggs apparently came with 2 but the menu did not say it came with 2 eggs it just said 1 side of eggs $2.50. Usually in any other Diner that means the whole side no matter how many it brings would be $2.50 or whatever price they decide. That alone looked to me as they just did not have cusromersand were trying to make a buck off the people that did go. The place is unsanitary found a peice of eggshell in my cup of coffee. The hot sauce on the table looked like it was rotting. It just looked like it was not being inspected at all.
