We got the patron tower, it was very good but VERY strong I couldn't drink it but it was tasty. Was excited to try this place but it fell flat for me. We went to go get some spooky themed cocktails and food, but everything was just ok. Some of the chicken in my Buffalo chicken grilled cheese was hard, and I had to send my drink back because it was just 90% alcohol. I never send anything back- really! It just was undrinkable and I was fine with paying for it, I just needed something else. They didn't end up charging me for it which was nice. No one else liked their drinks except for one friend who got some type of hot apple cider drink, that one was delish! Christmas galore!! These were both excellent. 10/10. We also got the Dino mixed drink. The glass was super cool, the drink was just average. For apps we had their buffalo chicken dip. This is very rich and very filling. One of the better buffalo chicken dips we have had. For the entrees I got the burger with sweet potato fries, my fiancé got the steak tips. Both entrees were also exceptional. Lastly, for dessert we got the peppermint ice cream brownie sundae. This was again, excellent. Allergy recommendation is 10/10. Great start to get into the Christmas spirit! They took time off in the late summer early fall and the new hires are honestly awful. I want to give leeway but I come about once a week and have a problem every time. Either wrong beer, waiting a hr plus for food bc she forgot to put it in, getting a bill for over $100 for a mac and cheese and beer because she didn't know how to charge correctly. She's nice but if you are at the bar the Asian female bartender should not touch your credit card. Your order might never go in with her or you might be charged hundreds more because she's charging whatever. Even the owner Brian got involved. The food quality is still top notch and I'm glad we have them but I wish there was decent consistency at the bar and at tables. I've been at tables waiting a long time since the reopening. Went to eat with friends for a small birthday get together. Ordered the hamburger. Was interested in a healthier side, listed only fries and Cole slaw. Asked server and she said some other options one of which was basic steamed brocolli. Went with that. Asked for ketchup and mayo for burger. After meal found out I was up charged 1.50 for the poorly done brocolli and up charged for mayo. To their credit they fixed the problem but in the dialogue it felt like I was being talked to like I was the crazy person in the situation and they were just trying to appease me. We went on Sunday night, a few days before Christmas. The wait seemed pretty long, but we ended up snagging one seat at the bar (and one of us stood the entire time). My friend hi the Christmasaurus drink and I got a plain (nonalcoholic) eggnog. He enjoyed his drink. Line tasted good but boozy- and my friend agreed. When the bartender came back over (which was a while after we got our drinks) I asked her if it was nonalcoholic and she apologized because it was not- so she made me a nonalcoholic one. Mystic station is a great local spot to go for a drink or nice meal and located in Malden right down the street from us. We have had the opportunity to visit in the summer and have a great meal with their buffalo chicken dip and steak tips and now in the winter during their holiday themed bar. The staff are always friendly and fast with the food. They have good recommendations and always check in on you when you are eating. The holiday themed bar experience was fairly crazy though due to the high demand for seating. It was a very fun experience. The food itself is always very fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. Each time I have been here we have had to take things to go and get to enjoy the food a second time. The drinks are also good. Winter had their unique festive themed drinks which were very tasty and intoxicating. Overall a solid place to go for a meal with great food and festivities. I highly recommend. read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]After being seated at a table with chairs, we were asked to move a few tables back to a table with benches in the back of the restaurant. Half of us had to sit facing the very rear wall of the restaurant. When you are there to see and feel the festive atmosphere, this seating change was a big disappointment, not to mention we were uncomfortable on the benches.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was not the best treatment. There's a "Miracle Menu" with a good selection of apps, sandwiches and entrees. Service was friendly but you could tell the server had given the same informational pitch a zillion times. We share the jumbo pretzel- jumbo is an under-statement. The Steak Tips were OK but a decent sized portion. The hamburger (I forget which one) was a disappointment and the chicken sandwich was fine. As this was our second time, next year I'll be on the lookout for another restaurant with nice decorations. read more

Such a great spot in Malden center! There's not many things in the area but this bar looks unassuming when walking by but the inside truly transports you to a different realm. Came here once in the fall and they had fall decor but it seems like the flowers are here to stay for the spring. The drink menu has a good variety of cocktails and beers. The service was great and the owner himself helped to seat us. He told us how a while back they had to shut down for a water leak for three months and he paid his employees the entire time. Made sure to have reservations as they were incredibly busy during their miracle fundraising time frame. We were seated promptly for our reservations on a busy Saturday night, however it was directly next to the door resulting in a draft the entire time. The host reminded us of the 1.5 hour limit because of their limited capacity. It was not very wide as the bar lined the entire left side and tables along the right but extended all the way towards the back of the building. For a drink I had one of the seasonal specialties which was Prosecco, pineapples, and a medley of other drinks that came in a wine glass imprinted with elves socks, an adorable touch. For entrees, I had the burger with Cole slaw while my mom had the teriyaki salmon with white rice and vegetables. Requested as medium it was more on the well done side but still a hearty size and flavorful with the sautéed mushrooms and onions nonetheless. The teriyaki salmon had a great glaze on top with plain rice and the steam veggies. The dish was garnished with scallions and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. We shared the brownie sundae with vanilla ice cream and whip cream. As hoped for, the brownie was served pipping hot in a cast iron skillet along side the ice cream, whip cream, and fitting red/green sprinkles. Overall food and great service deserved 4/5 stars but the decorum brings it up to a full 5/5! There were decorations from top to bottom including the ceiling, the mantle, and anywhere you could look. Christmas movies were played on the screen above the bar along side a train cycling in the tracks. Only issue was how loud the music was as my mom and I had trouble communicating with each other even though we were less than a few feet apart. The place was decorated amazingly for Halloween which added to the ambiance. I got the buffalo chicken grilled cheese and my boyfriend got the truffle burger. The food was fine - not great. Fired chicken sandwiches seemed lifeless with chicken that was fried long time back. It also was too thin and perhaps not adequately marinated making it dry. Fries were as good as they can get though. Cuban sandwich did not do justice to its name. I was expecting strong mustard / pickle taste - instead it was good'ol ham sandwich with no particular taste profile. Coleslaw seemed commercial / store bought with excessive sweetness. This was Sunday night when not many customers appeared to come so the chef had already left for the day (the waiter could not verify if the chicken sandwich sauce was okay for egg allergy). Why not just close the restaurant instead of serving food that seemed like below par for the restaurant's standard - given how high the ratings are. read more

The steak tips were cooked to perfection, seasoned well and served with garlic broccoli and creamy mashed potatoes. If you're feeling a sandwich, the pulled pork grilled cheese is a good option too. It was a stuffed grilled cheese with lots of cheese and bbq pulled pork. My fellow diners love their burgers so I will have to give it a try next time! Solid gastro-pub in downtown Malden with nice drink menu and good variety of dishes. Entire party was mostly happy with their choices and inside is bright and modern. Despite other Yelper's concerns, the online ordering system was seamless and cut the wait for food. Waitstaff frequently checked in with a smile, making for a nice dinner with friends. Upon entering, we passed some empty tables opposite the bar and were brought to the rear where there are about four or five booths. The waitstaff introduced the QR code ordering system (help is hard to find these days) and we viewed the menu online. With a group, it was nice to be able to easily split the check. We got the pretzel to start (huge and chewy with bar cheese and mustard). For mains, we did the turkey club (solid choice on crunchy bread, great fries), the special Cajun chicken sandwich ("best sandwich ever" said a friend), quesadilla ("great!") and the pastrami sandwich (a bit salty but on a nice brioche bun). No steak or turkey tips on the menu despite the Yelp photos. I'd like to come back to grab a beer from the big list on LCD screens and sit at the bar at this nice neighborhood spot. read more

Unfortunately for me, locals are very aware of this gem so the wait was a bit too much at the time. But great news, last night (Wednesday is trivia night btw), I was able to secure a coveted seat. We accessed the online menu and ordered as a group. The complementary water was delivered and our dishes followed. A bacon burger that hit the marks with great fries (GREAT fries). A pastrami sammich, which was good but could have been portioned a bit larger but it was accompanied by those delicious fries so no complaints. Lastly, a buffalo chicken sammich- delicious! ...and those fries lol. The atmosphere is great and the vibe is happy and fun. Definitely would get a revisit if was in the area and needed the plug. I've seen a lot of good reviews on mystic station so I thought I'd go and try it for myself. We went on a Friday night and they were very busy but we got a table fairly quickly and the staff was very kind. We tried the Mac and cheese with brisket. The meat was tender and the Mac and cheese was cooked very nicely with good flavor. We also got the bacon cheeseburger which was very juicy and very big. The fries that came on the side of the burger was also very long but it was crispy on the outside but when you bit in it was warm and soft on the inside. Overall the food was pretty good and I can see why a lot of people enjoy this place. If you're looking for a good place with a lot of classic and comforting dishes, this is it! read more

Bit of a wait but it's a fun atmosphere all decked out for Christmas. Service was nothing but friendly and helpful. Their onion rings are solid, better than most, I prefer a little puffier. The pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich is ridiculously good. Extremely indulgent. I don't know if they make their own bread for sandwiches or have it delivered but it's cut thick and tastes great. Love, love, love Mystic Station! It's become my go to for a really tasty meal in the area. Went a couple weeks ago. Made a reservation ahead of time so was able to quickly get a seat.
