    Large Pizza Ricotta

I enjoyed my visit here with some friends to enjoy some great Italian food after a visit to Tufts! We were pleased with the beautiful restaurant with great natural lighting. I will say that the bathroom had no soap or paper towels. Overall I didn't get a very organized vibe from the restaurant -- when asked, the waitress did not know a lot of details about the menu. The menu was also really disorganized and extremely long which made it hard to decide what to get. I did enjoy the chicken marsala that I ordered and we shared some excellent calamari and pizza together. The calamari was huge and crispy and fresh!! The pizza was excellent as well and very crispy. My friend ordered some asparagus but they accidentally gave us a prosciutto wrapped asparagus. Redoing the order took forever. Overall I was not too upset about this but it definitely seemed like the restaurant was less than organized. Not sure if we caught it on an off day or if they are usually like this.

We had a great meal at Bocelli's on a busy Saturday night. We had to wait about 10 minutes before being seated, which is understandable on a Saturday night at such a busy place. When seated, we had great service and the food was like I remember, fantastic! We started out with drinks and some bread! The bread is always fresh and plentiful. From there, we ordered our main dishes. I had the pizza and my wife ordered pasta fagioli soup. The timing between ordering and the food arriving was great. Again, we noticed it was a busy night so we were pleasantly surprised at how well things went. My pizza was great! My wife was thrilled with the soup. Great temperature and plenty of soup! Our server had our table and the 3 around us. She was available and right on top of whatever we wanted. Bocelli's remains a "throwback" type of place to me. I remember coming here in college and with my friends over the span of many summers. I am a fan, for sure! Price was fair Service was great Parking was easy. We were able to park right across the street Ambience was perfect We did not get dessert. It looked awesome on the way out....next time Would I come back? Of course...hoping to make it back before Summer '25

I have been a loyal patron of Bocelli for many years, going back to when Nick was the owner. Under his management, the restaurant was organized, welcoming, and well-staffed. The food was consistently delicious and full of flavor, and the ambiance felt like stepping into Nonna's house--warm, rustic, and authentic. Service was always delivered with a smile, and my favorite dish, the Mussels and Calamari Fra Diavolo, used to be $25--a fair price for such quality. Since the new owners took over, however, the restaurant has lost its direction. The staff are often rude, the food has declined significantly, and the once-charming ambiance now feels forgettable. Shockingly, my usual dish now costs $35.95--a price that simply does not reflect the quality or experience. Bocelli has become a "hole in the wall" with inflated prices. For comparison, Turner's Seafood in Melrose offers nearly the same menu, including the Mussels and Calamari Fra Diavolo, for just $25--and theirs is far superior. At this price point, the meal is not worth it. I cannot recommend Bocelli in its current state and will not return unless prices are reduced and quality restored. The restaurant has clearly lost many loyal customers, and it's easy to see why business is struggling.

Went to Boccelli's recently on the way to a Celtics game. I haven't been here for years and I mean years, but I used to love it. It was lunchtime so we decided to get lighter fare than dinners. Our waitress brought over waters and we ordered our beverages. Two of us got two different Sangrias. Both were Ok but lacked flavor. They just tasted like wine. Only fruit in them was bar cherries. She also brought a basket of really delicious bread, butter, oil and olives. The bread was crusty on the outside with sesame seeds and moist and soft on the inside. We ordered right away as we pressed for time. Two ordered soups, Chicken Noodle and Escarole, and one ordered the Caesar salad. The waitress said the Escarole would take 5 minutes that they had to make it. I think they have all ingredients separate and then thrown together when ordered. The soup was good but tasted like they just threw it together. All I tasted was the salty broth. The one eating the salad said it might have been a little over dressed with salad dressing. Two decided to split a large pizza, and the other two got two different calzones. One cheese and one had meat in it. The pizza is the thin style and was very good. Just the way I like it. They also have thick pizza. The calzones were very good also. I didn't get a chance to take pics of the calzones because they ate then so fast. My grandson did take a picture of his plain pasta though! All in all, it was a great lunch!

Great place to eat. Been there many times. Never disappointed. Food is the best. Was there this evening. I had the tripe and my guest had the we're haddock italiano. As usual the service was great the food was the best. It is always a friendly respectful atmosphere. Would recommend it to anyone. I intend to come back as often as possible.

But on a Saturday night, the place is mostly empty. Why? Because the people who run it don't understand atmosphere. The lighting is too bright, the decorations are tacky, and the music is cheesy. That is, it's not cool. It's not appealing. The owners need to visit places like Picco, Salty Pig, and Coppa in South End; Jinny's in Newton; or even nearby Semolina in Medford, and then make Real Gusto more like these 21st century places. If not, I'm concerned that Real Gusto will go out of business, and I don't want that to happen. That's why I hope the owners see this review and don't take offense to it and become defensive, but rather hear important feedback from a sincere customer, and modernize, bringing the restaurant toward its potential.

The calamari was delish but we wished there was more sauce for them because that was equally delicious. The artichockes, well, I don't think sublime captures the experience. It appeared that Roman style artichokes were wrapped in prosciutto and broiled, where the crispiness of the ham played off the delicate interior of the artichokes like nothing I've had before. The salmon entrée was cooked perfectly (even though I wasn't asked) with just enough medium rare center to be considered a model of how to cook salamon. The sunny rear of the dining room was a perfect spot to enjoy the snow-covered view. I'll be back for dinner soon. Many thanks to Domenico for attending to us.

The old space felt warm, charming, and welcoming, and the food was consistently great. Since the move, we've tried giving the new location a fair chance and have visited three times. Unfortunately, the overall experience just hasn't been the same. The atmosphere feels much more corporate and lacks the warmth and character that made the original location special. Several menu items have changed, prices have increased significantly, and the food hasn't been as memorable as it once was. The biggest disappointment has been the service. During our most recent visit on a Friday night while my sister was in town, the service was noticeably poor. It felt like our server was simply going through the motions and didn't want to be there. Everyone has off days, but when you're paying premium prices for a night out, you expect at least a friendly and attentive experience. We typically enjoy supporting restaurants and are happy to tip generously when the service reflects the experience. Unfortunately, this visit fell far short of expectations. After several attempts to give the new location a chance, we've decided this will likely be our last visit. It's disappointing because we genuinely loved Posto for many years and had hoped the new location would capture some of what made the original so special.

The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, so it's a great place for date night. The Fantastic: 1. Service -- our waiter was amazing, he took great care of us. We wanted for nothing! 2. Tortellini Alla Norcina -- this was delish. It was creamy, a little funky, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. 3. Cacio e Pepe -- also delish. 4. Mussels -- perfectly cooked, big and plump, and the bread to sop up the broth was also yummy. The plates are beautiful, but I think that plating and presentation takes priority over the food sometimes: 1. Bruschetta -- this was supposed to come with a balsamic drizzle, but it was served on a wooden plate and the drizzle was tiny and thin, so there wasn't really any balsamic. The dish could have used it to help cut through the cheese. 2. Bombolone -- dry, there was not a lot of custard in the pastry, and the surrounding sauces were more decorative than helpful. We did not enjoy the mixed drinks, they were all on the sour side and watery. So I would stick with wine or beer, the wine we had was excellent. Overall, we had a really nice time and would return.

I don't typically eat veal, and this cutlet was perfectly balanced - rich, savory, crispy, with a pleasant (but not overwhelming) salty kick from the prosciutto and parmigiano reggiano. We also ordered the spicy broccolini, which I highly recommend for the garlic lovers out there. For dessert we had the dark cherry (amarena?) gelato, which was delicious and creamy, with the perfect amount of sweetness. We shared each dish, and it was certainly plenty of food for the two of us. Prices felt reasonable for the amount and quality of what we ordered (all of the above + 2 drinks from the bar totaled approx. $160 pre-tip). The restaurant space itself is relatively small but has enough space to move around comfortably, which made it cozy without ever getting too loud (it was a pretty full house when we went), with a balanced dim lighting. Additionally, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the server patiently walked us through the menu and shared suggestions at our request. On a personal note I am especially appreciative of the staff, as I accidentally left without my hat, and the restaurant responded almost immediately to the message I sent through the restaurant website that same evening. Tl;dr - great menu, rich & hearty but balanced ingredients/recipes, and comfortable vibe. One really gets the impression that the husband/wife owners had a specific vision that they successfully brought into reality.
