We rented their function hall yesterday for a post-baptism party for ~35 people and it was incredible. We are new parents & have a million things going on so didn't bring any decorations and the place looked amazing as-is, they had nice linens, did blue napkins for our son, water pitchers with lemon, real roses on each table, etc. Super clean, private restrooms. Our server/bartender Alyssa was hands downs the best. She kept everything running smoothly and made a killer espresso martini. The food was great, everyone loved it. Peter was easy to work with, it was seamless, we literally showed up and everything was done for us. We will be back and recommending this to our friends and family. My family and I frequently get takeout from here and usually it is our go to. But recently the quality and taste has definitely changed and gone downhill. We usually always order their arancini's, chicken parm, eggplant parm, chicken Caesar wrap, and their Italian sub. I had my rehearsal dinner in the function room & everything went so smoothly thanks to the help of Peter and his staff. This was a perfect location as it was close to our venue and they had a private bathroom and parking lot that connected to their function room. The function room is fairly large, we had 35 people and we still had plenty of space to move around. The room is nice and bright with a designated bar area and food tables nearby. The buffet option was easy for our guest to go up and choose what they wanted and Peter included a pizza spread as appetizer before the hot food was served. I didn't have any decor so Peter offered to add some white roses as table centerpieces and there was some nice fall touches around the food table. I have been going to Avellino's for a long time, haven't been in a while. Service was friendly as always, the prices are a bit high but portion sizes are large. Order was veal (not for me) Marsala and mine was a Buffalo chicken wrap. The Marsala was extremely sweet! Way way way too sweet. The wrap was incredibly dry. They have a wide variety of everything and I've enjoyed everything I've had there. We had never had their food before and based on the reviews it truly seemed it could go either way- but we figured we'd give it a shot. The pros: -portion sizes (huge) -prices (cheap) The cons: -taste (either bland or not good) -texture (bad. Pasta overcooked, bacon in the carbonara was rubbery and they used entire slices?!?!) We got arancini, ziti carbonara, meatloaf, and salads. Fried Twinkies for dessert. I honestly didn't like anything, because nothing was cooked right or was weird... the meatloaf was like a meat spiral with a super dark salty gravy all over it. It didn't taste at all like meatloaf. (I realize meatloaf is a risky order anywhere). Avellino's is the best kept secret in New England. Not only do they have great food, but unbeknownst to most, they have a beautiful function hall attached to the restaurant that is absolutely ideal for a family celebration. We had our son's engagement party there yesterday and everyone who attended raved about the food, the venue and the warm and friendly staff. By the end of the event, I felt like Peter and his team were more like family. Just a great great experience. My family is in the process of planning additional functions (confirmation, another engagement party) at Avellino's after our experience yesterday! Avellino's really cares about quality! Loved my first experience here. Got a side gnocchi and it was perfect amount for me. It was a pick up order, had to park on side street. Next time I ordered through UberEats which is my own fault to even support, but was only able to get the dinner size which comes with a salad and garlic bread. My bread was very stale. He ensured the Function Hall was set just right for the bride's liking and took care of everything! The food was yummy. I only found one thing that wasn't my favorite, which was the fish dish. For me, it tasted too "fishy". But everything else was delish. From the cocktail hour dishes of chicken sausage, rice/cheese balls, salad skewers with fresh mozzarella and a yummy balsamic, to the mini spanakopita, Thai chicken strips to the main course of the sexy looking mixed green salad, Caesar salad, homemade cavatelli pasta with marinara, chicken Marsala, roasted potatoes, and the roasted veggies (didn't actually taste due to allergy to some of the veggies-but was told they were SOOOOO good), the garlic bread, rolls, chicken strips and fries for the kids, no one left hungry! There was also pizza which had mixed reviews. I didn't personally taste it. I'm from NYC, so I'm judgy about pizza that's not from there! I am in love with this place. I literally JUST finished eating their food (per delivery) and had to hop on my laptop to yelp how great it was! First off, their delivery was quick & the food came piping hot! Secondly, I opened up the pizza box and what I saw was amazing. I didn't even try it and I could already envision how it would taste.....AMAZING. So my boyfriend & I ordered a cheese pizza, wing dings, linguine w/ alfredo sauce, and the meatloaf meal. I have NO complaints. Wing dings were perfectly fried. Pizza = YES (my boyfriend's take on the pizza) his linguine was tasty & my meatloaf...........SO SO SO good!
