    Mai tai

Went here with a large group on a Saturday night. Fun vibe with lots of social worthy floral decorations. Some TVs for watching the game. Very tight spacing between tables making it hard to get around. I got the mai tai and it truly was awful- weird mix of juice, no rum noticeable. Others liked the espresso martini. Really enjoyed the crab rangoon and tomahawk steak but had no knife so thankfully it was very tender and easy to rip. Once 9 hit, It became a club with a loud dj. It was truly hard to hear the person next to me really stopping conversation. They do have a late night happy hour option Fri-Sat 10pm-12 midnight.

We started with the soup dumplings and they were delicious!! I'd honestly just come back and have dumplings for dinner they were so good!!! My drink came with a sparkler, two fortune cookies, a squeaky-pig and it was in a to-go box!! SO CUTE! Probably the best General Gao Chicken I've ever had and the beef with mixed vegetables was really good! Service was spot on with them paying plenty of attention to us without going overboard. We will absolutely be back again!

I loved the seasonal decorations and special decor, everyone was very friendly and the food and drinks came out quickly. The crab rangoons were delicious, probably the first time I've had them and could actually taste the crab. The lamb chops were also cooked perfectly, really enjoyed the sear on the outside. The drinks had a lot of room for improvement, but would come back for the food and ask for a beer next time.

So I ended up at District kitchen this evening with a friend and we had a lovely dinner. Service was A1. All the waitresses and hosts are extremely nice and attentive. We ordered the Szechuan Fish, which was a surprisingly perfectly spiced version with big chunks of white fish and what I believe some kind of mushrooms with a little bit of lotus flour lots of heat. Of course you have to get a bowl of white rice to enjoy all that savory Szechuan sauce. in addition, we ordered the shrimp dumplings, broccoli and garlic sauce, which was delicious. They all played well overall fantastic feast. I do have to say that it was actually extremely convenient for parking as they validate for the small parking lot around the corner. I found this to be added, which would bring me back and time again as it is almost impossible to find parking in downtown Malden now. The restaurant is always has great music and a nice vibe. The dishes are on the higher priced side, but it seems that they use quality products and ingredients and I believe it's worth every penny. I definitely will enjoy coming here over the years as I have in the past. In the past, I've had a great soup dumpling here which I would suggest everyone should try at least once. This is a solid four star restaurant give it a a visit I'm sure you'll enjoy.

First off I have to say the service was so fast and so efficient. The drinks were amazing not too over powering and just the perfect mix of mixer to alcohol ratio. We got the Xiao Long Bao dumplings to start and they were so flavorful and just the right size I could eat them all night. I got the General Gao Chicken which every Chinese restaurant has their version, but this one was honestly one of the best for the area. It had a bold flavor without being too much. The beef and mix vegetables was super tender beef and to our surprise not over cooked vegetables which seems to be a problem everywhere else but here. The House Special Fried Rice was a decent mix of flavors, but was definitely a lot for one dish. I wish the fried rice was fried more because I feel like the flavor would have really popped more with a little crunch of the rice. The was shocked with how small the restaurant was given the pictures I'd seen, and it was kind of loud for such a small space. You definitely need to be ok with a louder atmosphere going into dining here. But all and all it was an awesome experience and I will definitely be back.

District Kitchen absolutely delivered! I ordered the sesame chicken, house fried rice, and string beans -- everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The sesame chicken had the perfect crisp with just the right amount of sauce, and the house fried rice was packed with flavor and not greasy at all. The string beans were sautéed to perfection -- super flavorful with a great texture. Drinks were definitely on the pricier side, but honestly? Worth it. Creative, strong, and super well-made. You can tell they take their cocktail game seriously. The service was amazing and the ambiance is lowkey. Will come back many times

District Kitchen really delivered on flavor, vibes, and presentation. Everything we tried was solid, but a few dishes definitely stole the show. The fried rice with shrimp was packed with flavor and generously portioned -- every bite had that perfect mix of egg, veggies, and wok-charred goodness. The green beans had a great crisp to them and were well seasoned -- not just filler, but a real standout. We also had the lamb and wow. Tender, juicy, and seasoned beautifully -- definitely recommend if you want something a little heartier. One of the biggest hits of the night? That wild and wonderful clown fishbowl cocktail with floating rubber duckies. It was such a playful surprise and made the table light up. Perfect for sharing (and for the photo album). Service was quick, and the atmosphere had a cool, low-lit buzz -- a great place to come with friends or on a casual date night. Already thinking about what to try next.

    Soup dumplings. Soooo good

The soup dumplings are chefs kiss! Id come back just for that alone. I got the Kao pao chicken was good but not amazing. The fried rice was good and tasty but lacked some seasoning. Overall the food was good and I'd go back to try some other things! The Instagram-able drinks are cute but a little pricey for a standard drink. Tequila with mango juice for $25. The staff were friendly. Music was good, but can be a bit loud for people trying to have a conversation.

Cuttle fish dumplings were so amazing. The flavor was an explosion in my mouth. Loved the texture of the dough and filling. There was also a ton of filling. Took two bites of these guys. Didn't love the lavender drink but when we mentioned it to the server he was quick to remove it from outr bill. My friend had had it another day and said it tasted very different this time so maybe it was just an off day. Id def go back to try more of the menu!

Just went back for the first time in a few years. It's definitely a very festive atmosphere- with the music, decorations, and colorful drinks with little ducks floating inside. The food was all great! My taro cocktail was a good concept (my favorite boba flavor) but too strong. I really enjoyed the soup dumplings. They had a nice sauce that came with it, that's a must to accompany it. The other dish that hit it out of the park was the beef and string beans. Definitely ask for hot oil. Another hit was the salt and pepper fish- which tasted like the fresh crispy fish from a fish and chips dish, with an extra spicy pepper and cabbage mix that went great with it.

I came here with friends the weekend before Halloween and all the wait staff was dressed up and the decor was cute and spooky. The music was blasting kind of loud so it was hard to hear each other, but we enjoyed vibing to the throwback 2000s hits. They had special Halloween cocktails that were really unique! We tried the Arabian night, which was a whiskey and lime mix in an Aladdin-esque genie lamp teapot. It was lit on fire to resemble magical gold sparks. Pricey, but very cool! The food was also quite good. The string beans were crispy and garlicky and we loved the pineapple shrimp. The three cup chicken was a little too salty but still very tender. The dumplings were fine but nothing special, and a little doughy for my taste. Overall a fun night with yummy food!

    Crab Rangoon (6Pcs)
    Meiyi Y.

The food is pretty standard, but their drinks are quite unique! The crab rangoons are folded as triangles instead of the usual squares, which I prefer because of the filling ratio. The dandan noodles, beef noodle soup, and beef brisket stew are what you would expect. I was most excited about the XXL soup dumpling, but it was hard to eat to get the best experience. The dumpling was left with more of a thick sauce after having to sip some of the soup out with a straw. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Thursday night dinner. It was a bit difficult to get the servers' attention to get extra utensils, but they were nice! The bar restaurant vibe was great for casual dinner to catch up with friends.

Ordered for takeout so I was not able to really get a vibe of the inside but from what I saw it was nice. The staff was friendly during the handoff. I loved the Xiao Long Bao, I added some chili oil to the soy sauce and it was perfect. I really liked the Spicy Wonton in Chili Sauce, it was the perfect amount of spicy. The Mamas dumplings were pretty standard but good nonetheless. Prices were fair as well, will defiantly be back!

Just like last time, they looked like a reheat, but still had very good texture (tender, moist) and decent enough flavor. Above average. -- Pork Egg Foo Yong: A trio of thick patties flooded with light brown sauce. Good crispness underneath. Soft and tender with big chunks of pork that wasn't dried out. Good overall flavor from the fry, the onions, and the pork, as well as the sauce. Very enjoyable. Above average to well above average. -- Peking Noodles: A little different, and in a good way. More of a fine shred than a crumble, much spicier, and a little gloppier. Good feel to the egg noodles. I don't get this dish often enough to compare, but I enjoyed it. No OMG moments, but no complaints. Solid lunch, flavorful entrees, and I departed with a higher opinion than before. Upping to 4 stars.

Smaller pieces than most, but crisp without being dry, and full of flavor even beyond the spice. But first, the pork: thin, flat slices with an even thinner batter reminiscent of tempura-- so light and crispy it crackled like broken glass. The sauce had syrup consistency, golden color instead of the old school red, and more sour than sweet. A spectacular dish if you like sweet and sour, and a good one even if you don't. -- Sautéed Pork Belly with Hot Pepper: Firm slices of pork with so little fat you can eat the whole thing without inspection. The hot peppers weren't so hot, so while this was enjoyable as a simple pork and vegetable dish, it had no spicy flavor pizzaz suggested in the name and evident in similar examples elsewhere. Mild but substantial. Bonus points for all of the following: - The server coming back and double checking to make sure we still wanted a dish we ordered after letting us know it was cold. - A tablet on the table with the menu showing photos of every dish to assist in ordering decisions. - A municipal parking lot across the street. - Cute branded takeout bags.
