This was my first visiting Boston and visiting this restaurant was very unwelcoming. I read the reviews but still wanted to give this place a try. Wrong choice smh. The waitresses have a terrible attitude. Not pleasant at all. Jan in particular wasn't helpful with questions regarding the menu, rolling her eyes, and very dismissive. I've never experienced a waitress act so rude in my life! I was actually in shock! I have no idea how they're still working there. The food was just ok. I do not recommend even trying this place out. I'm sure there are much better options in the city.

While visiting the Boston area today, l stopped at Mt Vernon's restaurants for lunch. The twin lobsters were very good!! However, the service was bad. The waitress was very unfriendly. Jan, was my waitress. I don't know if she was having a bad day and/or was racist. I was feeling RACIST energy and rudeness. She never came to check on me until she presented the bill. Which I gave her the minimum tip for poor service. In the Boston area there are lots of other great...seafood options No one has to except poor treatment from a server/restaurant. Dine elsewhere!!! Especially...Black Americans!!!

We had a great experience here. The food was terrific. Homey, hearty and well cooked with large portions. The tips were soooo tasty with the perfect amount of marinade. Boiled dinner was large and yummy. Nice piece of prime rib too!! Staff was amazing, down to earth and social. Loved it here!! Parking right across the street!

Wow. I ordered a lobster roll for take out during a craving on a work day. When I picked it up, the bartender told me it would be the best lobster roll ever. And yes, it was amazing! I would say the roll was a little crunchy for my taste but the lobster salad inside was fantastic. Lightly dressed and huge chunks. This was at least half a lobster. I also got my side as half fries half onion rings and both were really good. Soft batter and decently sized orings so they didn't fall apart. The bartender even grabbed me some ketchup before I remembered to ask. I'll definitely be back next time I'm craving lobster

    Twin Lobster!!! So good!

Had a great experience eating here with a large group of about 70 people. The twin lobster was the star of the show!!!

I visited Boston with my family for the first time from California and after we landed and got our rental car I immediately searched for a local lobster roll! There were a lot of options in Downtown, but since it was 6pm on a Saturday night all of them had lines out the door and no parking to be found. We decided to head a little bit out of downtown and stumbled upon Mount Vernon - very glad we did! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, food was good, and the restaurant has a local atmosphere which we prefer.

Very local Boston vibes. The waitress was welcoming and willing to help us eat the clams and lobster properly. We had the oyster Rockefeller and clam bake. Amazing! Very reasonable priced. 2 FREE parking lots around the corner.

Incredible hole in the wall. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by the bartender and local patrons. You can watch a game, gamble, or get the most insane lobster dinner on earth. They are know for a lobster stuffed with lobster. That's right. Come here for the New England cuisine, authentic Boston atmosphere and cold beer.

Everything we ordered was tasteful, no complaints. We ordered the long bone steak . Recommend. Going into this restaurant we figure it will be pricey, which is fine for quality and experience. Like other reviewers have mentioned before, some of the dishes arrive faster than others, so I think selecting a few dishes to share family-style among the group might be the best. This is also because I got the milk bread monte cristo ($18) which I thought was tasty, but quickly became too greasy to fully enjoy. It was a big portion which could be easily shared among a group. I also tried their zucchini and spring onion latkes ($18) and seasonal donuts ($12), both of which were excellent. The zucchini latkes were super soft but seasoned perfectly and had a nice aroma of charred onions. I highly recommend the seasonal donuts which are fluffy and not too sweet.

The menu is full of tempting options so it was hard to choose. We shared the grilled rosemary focaccia, grilled broccoli, roasted cauliflower cesar, and Thai sausage pierogi (with lime, mint yogurt) All were excellent. The grilled rosemary focaccia with fresh, warm, and fluffy and came with a honey whipped ricotta! The grilled broccoli was served on top of heavenly butternut squash hummus and covered nutty-crunchy goodness. The cauliflower cesar and pierogi were also very good; although, I'd probably try something else next time. It was more than enough food for a party of 2. We could have easily only gotten three options, which might have left room for dessert - although maybe not - they are generous portions. Anwho - All in all - great experience all around.

I was in town visiting and was lucky enough to grab a bar spot later in the evening on a really cold night. The service -- superior. I was done making the decisions for the day so I had my server guide the experience and he was not wrong! I started with the best cocktail I had in Boston, . So good! Next I went with the Semolina cakes which were lovely. Followed that with spice crusted bluefin tuna which I devoured. For the main course -- i wanted a representative dish since i may never get the opportunity to circle back and the pappardelle with wild boar was amazing! I ate every bite. Ricotta cheesecake was for dessert and it was sooo good. I had to take the last few bites to go to enjoy later. Definitely work the reservation challenge

The prix fixe menu was $46 for an appetizer, entree and dessert. I got the French onion soup (with short rib!), duck cassoulet and the profiteroles. The French onion soup was more substantial than a typical French onion soup which is saying something - cheesy, breast and meaty. I probably could have just eaten the French onion soup. The duck cassoulet and profiteroles were solid, and I particularly enjoyed the duck confit. Wonderful service.

The place flirts with a nice classy vibe but there's something, I don't know, cheap about it. Like the Hollywood studio version of a speakeasy - it was only meant to be used for a couple of scenes and now it's been here for years. And this is really no fault of theirs but when you have a bunch of screaming trust funders sloshing their drinks around, it really washes the class right out. This is maybe more a review of Harvard than this place. The food is also pretty generic and unconscionably expensive. It's the $20 burger effect - if a place has a $20 burger on your menu, it has forgotten how food works. It has become a social experiment. One thing I will say is the staff is very attentive and nice - promotes this from a bad place to a meh place - kind of inoffensive. Again - maybe that's kind of a review of Harvard Sq, generally.

We ordered all three of the mock tails on the menu -- Odin's Oracle was a sparkling elderflower and passion fruit drink, the Northern Rose was fruity with a slight thick cream of coconut base (and the tables favorite!) and the last drink was a warm ginger drink. They all came out looking beautiful. For food, we started with the Halloumi Cheese which was delicious and perfect for sharing (comes with four pieces), then tried the Blueberry Ricotta Cornbread (really well made and yummy but needed a little more butter spread) and the fried burrata (huge serving of burrata with balsamic, fig jam, warm bread, just as good as it sounds). We tried the Braised Short Rib Croquettes which were stuffed with short rib and topped with sooo much yummy cheese.
