    A5 miyazaki zabuton

No stranger to the Malden food scene, I was excited to finally try this place, though wasnt sure what to expect. While on the smaller scale, there is an eclectic feel to the decor that makes it homey and feel like a family restaurant. The crowd varies from families to couples to groups of friends, making it a place for everyone. The service is extremely friendly and attentive, and likely one of the reasons I'd come back. We wanted to order lemon chuhai but saw it wasnt on the menu - when we asked our waitress which drink would be the closest to this, she actually told us she'd have the bartender just make it for us with lemon instead. This is just one example of how friendly the staff is. In terms of food, while pricey I did find it to be worth the value. We ordered the Thai basil stir fry with chicken which was tender and had an array of flavors and textures. We also the wagyu rice as the meat was tender, and the egg added a nice flavor. Lastly we had the A5 miyazaki zabuton- this we were able to cook ourselves and felt worth the price tag. The flavor and quality of the meat were delicious. Overall this was a fun experience with excellent service.

If I went with my first experience, I'd probably not come back but now this is now the fifth time I have tried Phat Thaiger and I am glad I keep giving them a try. They have added more dishes since their grand opening. Each time I have visited, there seems to be something new on the menu. During out last visit, we had made reservations for Christmas Eve. When we asked about the 36 piece sashimi omakase, we were told that the fish the deboned fish pictured with the sashimi hanging over will not be served so we went with the 18 piece premium sashimi omakase instead. Everything was delicious. Although, I'd rather had scallop sashimi instead of snow crab legs. The waiter asked if we wanted the shrimp heads fried, which was a win for me this time around because I preferred it was served this way. I get some people like it raw. I am sure they have been reading customers review and feedback so this shows you how much they care to make the diner experience special. Our waiters checked in often as well. My next favorite item from their menu is their Hokkaido Kaisedon. If I remembered correctly, they did not however used seasoned Japanese sushi rice the first time I ordered so that was the only disappointment with this. The sashimi were all fresh. I'll give another try to see if the first reviews feedback was taken. We have tried their Yakitori twice now and I think it's gotten better as well. I wished they had stuck to the original too, seasoning with tare (soy glaze) or Shio (salt) and let the ingredients stand out. Have a spice container for Shichimi Togarashi instead if customers want to add. This is more traditional Japanese Yakitori and will have a larger appeal I would think. Any sushi carpaccio dish with heavy sauce should be avoided if it contain fish sauce since raw fish and fish sauce really doesn't go well, at least for me. When you have fresh sashimi, I think a light soy or ponzu sauce is all you need. Overall, I enjoyed their Japanese menu the most. We have tried some of the Thai influenced Japanese items and the sauces used are way too overpowering in my opinion. Drinks are strong and their iced tea are on the sweeter side, ask for less sugar. The setting is beautiful, customer service excellent. Come early with reservation as there is very limited parking space.

**Saturday Evening Done Right** We stopped by Phat Thaiger early on a Saturday evening and were greeted and seated right away - always a great start! We kicked things off with a Sapporo on tap, which hit the spot perfectly. Before I get to the food, I have to mention the atmosphere - the decor here is really special. From the beer case seats to the beautiful pottery on the tables to the blooming cherry trees, every detail adds to the experience. It's clear they've put thought into creating a welcoming space. The food was consistently excellent across the board. The crispy pork gyoza were a solid choice, but the fried shishito peppers really stood out with their crispy larb spices that delivered a pleasant kick. The salmon crudo was beautifully prepared with a delicious yuzu sauce that complemented the fish perfectly. The star of the show for me, though, had to be the crispy shrimp sticks. They were *so* perfectly fried and cooked that I honestly wanted to hoard them all for myself - crispy exterior, tender inside, just flawless execution. We finished with the fried brown sugar mochi served with green tea ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending to cap off the meal - not too heavy, just right. Great food, friendly service, beautiful atmosphere, and attention to detail throughout. Highly recommend Phat Thaiger if you're in the Malden area! -----

Phat Thaiger does a wonderful job seamlessly blending Thai and Japanese cuisine together. We tried their main dishes: the Phat Thai and Phat Tiger steak which were both quite good. Would say the steak was a tad overcooked (we asked for medium rare) but the seasoning was perfect! Phat Thai was made with udon noodles which was interesting. Would've loved a slightly stronger Pad Thai flavor since the udon noodles didn't absorb the sauce as much as expected. In terms of drinks, their Phat Thaiger Tea is delish! Not only is it visually stunning but the Thai Tea flavor is potent. Would say their staff was attentive and kind as well. Overall it was definitely a lovely time.

My first time here and was blown away by the visual aesthetic anc and selection of thai and japanese dishes! This spot blends thai and japanese food seamlessly and literally takes the best items from each and makes them very well. The food we got was expertely cooked and served beautifully. They have a unique ordering system and very attentive staff which makes the experience really great. I also witnessed someones birthday and have to say it was something you need to experience first hand. Overall a 10/10 spot. I highly recommend!

Phat Thaiger is owned by the sane people who brought Cryjng Thaiger, Zuru zuru and Thaiger Den to Malden and this spot is instragram worthy! The dining room is intimate and so beautifully decorated either a cherry blossom tree in the center. The bar is well stocked and their drinks so creative! The staff is wonderful and the food is so pretty and creative! Our favorite starter is the DIY omakasi treasure box. They really are thoughtful with their presentation too. I had a soup in paper that Im still dreaming about today. Parking is limited but it is definitely worth visiting!

What a welcome addition to the neighborhood! I love the idea of Thai and Japanese fusion so we wanted to try dishes that incorporated both cuisines. They didn't have physical menus so you'd need to scan the QR code. The menu was huge so it was a bit overwhelming to look through everything on the phone. However, we eventually flagged someone down to give us some recommendations. Here's what we got (ranked): DIY Temaki 4 Box ($29.95) This was a fun way to try 4 unique flavor combinations through hand rolls. You can pick your own toppings from their list. We picked Torched Salmon Kang Som, Negitoro Spicy Wasabi, Unagi Foie Gras (+$1.95) and A5 Wagyu Nam Tok ($2.95). It came with a few sheets of crisp nori on the side to make our own hand rolls and each topping had sushi rice underneath. My favorite was the Unagi Foie Gras. Hokkaiyaki Hor-Mok Style ($14.95) Great appetizer to share. This was a large scallop shell with diced scallops baked in Thai curry sauce and cheese on top. The cheese was nice and gooey and the Thai curry sauce gave the scallops just the right amount of heat. Yakisoba Phat See Ew ($16.95) Loved the thin yakisoba noodles! I think they really soaked up the sauces so it tasted just like a traditional Pad See Ew. You can choose your own protein - we chose pork belly slices and they were so tender. The bonito flakes were nice additions as well. Thai Unagi Kabayaki ($12.95) The grilled eel was well cooked and tender with a miso glaze on top. However, I didn't really taste much of the Thai herbs on there and the jaew sauce on the side overpowered the the miso on the eel. Phat Tiger Steak ($12.95) I've had a similar dish at its sister restaurant Thaiger Den and it was so good so I was looking forward to this. Unfortunately, the steak turned out to be very tough and chewy. Overall, this is a solid spot to try out Thai-Japanese fusion. The food came out fast and were beautifully presented. The service could be better. It was our first time and with such a big menu, it would've been helpful if someone had reached out to give us a run down on the menu and the highlights. As for parking, they have a small lot with a few spaces out front and there is also street parking.

If you're looking for a fun food experience check out Phat Thaiger in Malden! We got to visit for the soft opening and it was a pretty good experience. We decided to split the omakase treasure box between 2 people and it was a decent portion size! Each hand roll was unique and fresh. To end the night we got the Hokkaido cheesecake which was super light and fluffy. I think the menu is pretty extensive so it can be a bit hard to choose what kind of dining experience you want. Overall it's definitely a fun spot with really beautiful interior decor. Definitely recommend making a reservation because it gets busy especially on weekends!

WOW! My son found this place somehow and asked to go for his birthday meal. So we made the trek into Boston and I'm sure glad we did. The staff is super friendly, accommodating and very helpful. It looks like the building it is in was once an old garage or shop, that they have done an amazing job of renovating and turning the inside into a unique dining experience. Then there is the food, it is damn good. We kind of did it more tapas style with many small plates.

This new Thai restaurant deserves a little more love! Their place is beautifully decorated and the cherry blossom trees are just so relaxing and serene. One thing they do differently here is that you can scan a QR code and order on your own. You can also choose not to and order with your server if you want. What's unique is their crispy mozzarella crust gyozas! I never seen anything like it, and it is the most amazing thing! It is a cheesy, crispy, meat filled gyoza and I am a cheese lover so I'm a huge fan. They have a big menu with lots of options and variety, including cold apps like sushi and salads, hot apps like fried gyozas and steak, sushi items, noodle dishes, and more. I also enjoy their fun zero-proof drinks! The thai matcha and the coconut matcha were very creamy and unique. The matcha foam is very good, but I does need a stronger matcha flavor. Everything was visually appealing, flavorful, and very unique. The service was also great! Everyone was so nice and friendly. Multiple people checked in on us and make sure we got what we needed.

I enjoyed the temaki omakase treasure box! It was enough for two people to share. Our waitress was thorough and explained all the ingredients in the treasure box. The noodles were also delicious.

Very beautiful inside! Fun for a date, girls night, or birthday. I visited on a Saturday night (with a reservation). You order by scanning a QR code and each member of your party can order individually to the table if they'd like. Our food and drinks came out quickly and our server was very attentive even though we ordered on our phones. We really enjoyed the phat thaiger tea, DIY temaki box with salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and shrimp, and phat thaiger steak. There are a lot of Thai and izakaya menu options to choose from and I would love to come back with friends to try some more items.

This place is well decorated, I thought I was traveling to Japan in the 90s. They have the bar section that perfect for date night with all the specials handcraft cocktails. Food also a hit, we order beef tongue, tartare, spicy tuna, phat thai. Each dish has nice presentation and delicious flavor I love this place and definitely will come back for Japanese food infusion Thai

What I can remember is that all the food had great visual appeal. Additionally, the flavors from the main ingredient, sauce, and condiments were artfully balanced. I felt that none of the ingredients in the dishes I ordered were decorative. My only minor disappointment is the small portion (though I get that US portions are typically giant...). Service/wait-time/cleanliness (1.5/2): Great service even if there was only 1-2 waiters. Wait-time is decent. Cleanliness is impeccable. One minor negative is the positioning of some of the table that sees the fan above them--the fan sits just below the light bulb and creates a "strobe-light" effect at night. This was incredibly disturbing for me and I had to face diagonally downwards most of the time to avoid the flickering at the top-corner of my eyes. Price (0.5/1): As much as I love what they've created, I just feel the price for the portion we receive is on the expensive side. Rounded to 4 because I love the place.

The karaage was crispy but not overfried. The inside meat was juicy and cooked right the perfect way. For my meal, I ordered the Yakitori Don, a bit of a plain dish compared to some of the other foods this restaurant has, but still good! My yakitori chicken was hot and tender. Scallions were also cooked well and paired well with the rice and chicken. As for the poached egg, I ate a portion of it separately, and mixed the remaining part of it into the bowl with the rice for more flavor. My family ate the Ittoku Ramen and the Gyu-Yakimeshi. They thought the ramen was alright, taste was not bad, though they wished there were a bit more toppings and noodles. As for the Gyu-Yakimeshi, they also thought it was fine, but there wasn't as much flavor and taste in the dish as they expected. For dessert, we shared a Crème Brûlée. It was kind of pricey, costing around $12, but baked amazingly well. We all loved it! Service was great, nothing bad to say in that aspect. The interior was also nicely designed and welcoming.
