What a great space. Industrial loft chic in the scientific heart of Cambridge. I came here for a quick coffee at the weekend and the place was buzzing with activity. There are convenient 15-min parking spots for the quick in/out pickup. A few outdoor seats to enjoy the warmer weather. Good addition to the neighborhood.

Similar to the other flour locations, this location offers excellent pastries and drink options. I did appreciate the larger seating area and parking lot right outside relative to the other locations I've visited. Worth checking out!

Best tomato soup ever! The bread is delicious as well! Place was packed! Service was good.

Super comfy bakery in cambridge with amazing pastries, smooth coffee and super friendly staff. Ask for faith. She's a doll! Plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. Super comfy couches and chairs inside. Great place to work, socialize, eat and drink! I'll definitely be back!!

Got a birthday cake from Flour and it was such a pleasant surprise. I believe it was the 6" vanilla cake. Very moist, and love the decorations, however it is VERY sweet. I know most people have a sweeter tooth than I do, but I could only eat one slice (though still enjoyed it very much!). Overall, still love Flour and would love to try their other cakes as well :)

Stumbled upon this place walking through the neighborhood near MIT. This place has some fantastic baked good and I wanted to eat them all! The home made pop tart was amazing! Strawberry filling and icing....you'll never eat the boxed ones again. My breakfast sandwich was amazing as well. Definitely would come back here for baked goods, pastries, and breakfast!

I was looking for a place to grab breakfast before heading home to Maine from Cambridge. As always, I consulted Yelp, and came across Flour Bakery + Cafe. I checked out some recent reviews and the menu and determined this would be a great place to check out. As a bonus, it was a 5 minute walk from our hotel (the Hyatt Regency). My husband grabbed a table outside in the shade while I ordered for us. I ordered a blueberry muffin for my hubby and the avocado toast and an Arnold Palmer - 1/2 black tea and 1/2 lemonade - for me. The service was amazing! Everyone I interacted with was super nice, helpful, and seemed to love working there. In fact Flour Bakery + Cafe was selected as one of the best places to work multiple years in a row. My husband thought the muffin was just OK (and he never complains about food). The muffin looked a bit dry, crumbling in his hands as he was trying to eat it, and he had to have some of my drink to help wash it down. I had better luck with the Avocado Toast. It was made with a poached egg, pickled Fresno chili, cotija cheese, salsa verde, and cilantro on multigrain toast. The egg was perfectly cooked, with plenty of runny yolk to melt into the concoction, the other toppings a flavorful combination with a hint of lemon, and the bread was that great combination of crunchy and soft. I would definitely order the avocado toast again, and would try other items off their menu the next time I'm in town. A 5 for service, 5 for avocado toast, seating and muffin 3, for an average of 4. Could easily be a 5 on another day and depending on what you order.

We're a fan of Flour Bakery having been to the Mass Ave location a couple of times. First time at this location and we like this location much better. Maybe because of the pandemic or because MIT is on summer break, but it was maybe 1/2 full so plenty of tables available. Compared tot he Mass Ave location, the Elm St one is very relaxed, open and airy. There's an informal seating area with couches and big chairs as well as the usual 2 and 4 tops. Also, some tables outside and a small parking area. Just a very, nice relaxed vibe to enjoy your treats. Today we had ham breakfast sandwiches and the daughter has a chicken panini. Coconut cake for dessert. Everything was very good, as usual. Coconut cake was a little on the rich side but oh so good. Breakfast sandwiches were super tasty and really hit the spot. Nice chunk of scrambled egg with lots of thinly sliced ham and some greens. We just hung out for a little while and planned our day. Definitely will come back. Great play to grab a bite and chill.

This is my favorite flour location! There's a ton of indoor seating (bar stools, long tables, comfy sofas) and outlets. The windows let in lots of natural light, and the light woods/Japandi decor give the place a clean, airy feel. The staff is super friendly, and the store is immaculately clean. I came here on a weekday afternoon, and even though the store was pretty full it was quiet enough to get work done. I got a small iced coffee and the chunky lola cookie, which came out to $7.20--pretty good for Boston. I love the brand of coffee Flour uses (strong, slightly bitter, and refreshing) and that they don't charge extra for oat milk. The cookie was great, too. The chocolate is super high quality, and the coconut flakes add a nice chewiness. Will definitely come back another day to get work done! Hoping that the outdoor seating area will be open soon.

After crossing the Longfellow Bridge in Cambridge, all I thought about was Hot Chocolate and Sticky Sticky Buns. Turns out, by the time we got to this location (Joanne Chang has several others), Sticky Buns were sold out. I went from 10 to 0. One of the young ladies noticed I was out of it and called other locations to see if they had any. Negative. Instead, I picked out a Raspberry Square for hubs and 2 Sm. Hot Chocolates. Since I didn't get a chance to savor Chang's well-known baby, let's just say, my Hot Chocolate outshined that moment. I totally get this is a Bakery AND a Café- but bacon smells horribly took over this BAKERY! Even worse, by the time we walked out, I smelled just like that. Perhaps having a better ventilation system in place is key. In any case, the young ladies here are PHENOMENAL. Thank you for giving me the heads up to pre-order Sticky Sticky Buns.

Been wanting to give this place a try for a month after seeing gorgeous pictures of their pastries…read moreon instagram lately. I stopped by on a Sunday early morning right after they had opened and tried several items on display including a plain croissant, a pear danish, blueberry danish, and a valentine raspberry special bowtie. While the pastries looked pretty for instagram, they all needed a LOT more work. Everything here left me sad. There were no flakes, no crumble, and no crisp to the pastries (just soft, limp, sadness). The danishes here are also not cheap, with the blueberry danish being $8. According to the staff, all the danishes had come out fresh out of the oven JUST 30 minutes ago. Can only imagine how much more disappointing the pastries would've been for the people that came in after me. Save yourself a trip here and go to Michette, Lakon, Colette, Cremux Patisserie, SALT, or Little L instead if you're looking for a solid danish or croissant. Will not be back.

Good crunch to the bite, sending flaky shrapnel everywhere, but yielding to the tender center. Somewhat buttery. Chocolate croissant: Not as gigantic, but a steal at under $5. Not warm but very fresh, very flaky and delicate, cracking more intensely in the bite with even more shrapnel. Underneath, a very light and fluffy feel, along with a very buttery taste. Not greasy at all; just great flavor, and that's not even counting the dark chocolate, which was understated but effective. Pain au Raisin: Again flaky, but a bit (only a bit) on the dry side, even with the noticeably custardy notes. Good flavor to the dough. Minimal glaze if any. A rung or two lower on the impressiveness scale than the almond and chocolate croissants, but still solid. Blueberry Danish: Nice pastry, many layers, light, crisp and delicate, while still being soft and buttery. Good flavor to the dough and faintly glazed. Surprisingly, the crispness lasted well into the early evening, when tried as a take-home item. Lots of blueberries, fresh and not too fussed with, along with a bit of blueberry compote. No gimmicks, no bombast, just good stuff. Looking forward to a quick return. On my mental shopping list to encompass a few visits: chocolate almond croissant, chocolate chip cookie dough croissant (aka "cookie" and the only gimmicky item I saw), apricot danish, pear danish, pain suisse, and babka.

The interior is spacious and the service was great. I fell in love with the chopped not-liver ($13), which is a delicious eggplant spread that doesn't taste like eggplant but has a great savory flavor with a slight wine aroma. The pita bread that came with it was so warm, pillowy, and chewy. This dish was just perfection. There's an eggplant dip (Oren's eggplant) in the Bay that I have been craving, and now I have something in Cambridge that is just as good if not better. The haus smoked whitefish ($12) was also quite good. It had a lot of fish but wasn't too fishy, had good flavor and came with crunchy crackers. The fish and chips ($24) was tasty as well -- the chips are really crunchy and the fish was flaky and crunchy, and the sauce was interesting and spicy. Lastly, we got the halva ice cream sundae ($12), which was pretty decent with a lot of crunchy bits. I'm not a big fan of nutty flavors or milky ice cream, so I'm not sure if I'd get it again. There is a 20% gratuity automatically applied (we had 2 people, so I don't think it's due to party size). Service was great -- people kept checking on us and refilling our water. In conclusion, the eggplant chopped not-liver was amazing and it's everything I've been looking for. I'm excited to try more of their offerings.

There's not much by way of seating at this location so it's more for pickup, but there is a bar at the front of the store where you can sit for a few minutes to enjoy a treat. My husband and I got a latte and a cappuccino, and a pistachio cannoli to split. Both drinks were perfect, hot but not scalded, with robust espresso flavor. The cannoli, as expected, was fantastic. Yes, it's big. Yes, the toppings are only on the ends (but you can eat it strategically to make the toppings last through most of the experience). Maybe I have too much of a sweet tooth but unlike a lot of reviewers I did not find it to be TOO sweet, just the right amount paired with a bitter coffee beverage and split between two people. I've never had a cannoli for breakfast before, but darn if it wasn't a highlight of the trip.
