The staff was very friendly and helped with menu questions. I thought the price was fair for the quantity and quality of food. I got the arugula salad, tomato, and basil soup, and a fruit cup, and my friend got one of the mochi waffles with a side of bacon and eggs and a pao de quejo. Inside was brightly lit, and there was enough seating. There's also seating outside. It did not take long for food to be finished and it was brought out to our table. The soup was delicious and the fruit was very fresh. I'm excited to go back and try one of the waffles! My friend loved her waffles and sides. She also got the strawberry matcha and said it was delicious and creamy

I've been to the Somerville location for brunch and loved it. This time, I swung by the Cambridge location to grab something to go--specifically the Brazilian cheese breads (both plain and guava-filled) and their cookie. The cheese breads are dense and great quality, but honestly...I felt ripped off. I've been spoiled by all the Brazilian bakeries in Somerville/Medford, where these usually run 50 cents each. At Bom Dough, they're $3.50 for the plain and $4 for the filled. That's borderline robbery. I still bought them because I was craving them, but next time I'll stick with Somerville bakeries. The cookie, on the other hand, is absolutely worth the price. Thick, soft, super chocolatey--addictive. The space itself is relaxed and open. The staff was friendly but a bit odd--somewhere between helpful and slightly pushy, almost like he was judging my order for not ordering enough. Overall: Great quality and a diverse menu with something for everyone, but be prepared--some items are overpriced.

Had the good pesto brisket sandwich and thought it was a solid sandwich. The brisket was tender and the soft doughy bun was nice. Pesto, cheese, and beef are an interesting combo though so I can see it not working for everyone.

Incredible! Was visiting for Thanksgiving break and came here MULTIPLE times for breakfast, as I was staying in the Kimpton Hotel (~10 min). Aesthetically pleasing, delicious flavors of syrups to choose from for coffee drinks, and their breakfast sandwhichs are scrumptious (thick cuts of bacon = magic in my mouth lols). Highly highly recommend!

Bōm Dough is the bomb! (Cheesy, I know.) This is a delightful spot for breakfast. Their matcha lattes are excellent and made with high quality matcha. Also enjoyed the guava pao de queijo, and their use of pao de quiejo as the bread for the breakfast sandwiches! Sweet and savory! The employees were friendly and the space had good chill vibes.

I left feeling so full after eating my sandwich. I ordered the crack chicken sandwich on a pan de quejo bread which was really good. I got my sauce on the side which was a good choice because it was messy. The cheese was nice and melty, and the bread was toasted flat almost like a panini. My raspberry mocha latte wasn't my favorite but it was okay. It was really sweet and not what I am used to. This place was busy but there was plenty of seating. It was a little on the pricier side also but was of quality food.

I have gotten a few snacks and drinks from here on the go. But i never sat down and gotten served food until today! Last time i got the maple iced latte. Did not like it all. Was very gritty and i don't like grainy textures. If you have sensory issues like me i wouldn't try that as your first drink. IF YOU GET A DRINK PLEASE GET THE ICED DULCE DE LEITE LATTE! i had it. It was so yummy. And yes they do have oat milk!!! I love their pan de queso. They're very big and fluffy. I do enjoy Brazilian pastries and snacks so i knew it was gonna be good! However this is on the pricier side btw. I have been to different Brazilian spots around Boston (East Boston) that were cheaper and offered more bang for your buck than this place but hey, it's cambridge. So expect that! i picked the classic egg Benedict. It comes with bacon or brisket if you like. I don't eat meat so the guy was nice enough to offer tomatoes instead. It came with 1 pao de quezo cut in half . I was expecting at least 2 but i also have a small appetite (i get full fast) so i wasn't complaining lol. As well as hollandaise which i never tried? It was good! I was pleasantly shocked. It also came with baked potatoes/home fries. The Benedict eggs were yummy but could use more seasoning. Luckily they have a cafe condiment bar if you wanna add salt, pepper or ketchup. It was very clean and the bathrooms were so spacious and single use (privacy)! I love the decor and they have many plug outlets if you plan to come in and drink coffee and just get work done on your laptop! Also they offer wifi and it's written on a stand near the register! Overall lovely experience and i will be back!

Friendly service! Tried the divine matcha (?, the one with blue hue) but it was too sweet for me. The traditional pao was good given the cheese. The guava and dolce were interesting since it was the traditional with those sauces.. not sure if it's my vibe palate wise.

We enjoyed our Bom Dough brunch! We ordered to go once we got to the restaurant. It was a bit hard to find where to stand while waiting for our order, but the staff was kind. Once we got home to our food, I was excited to try the gluten free muffin, which was pretty good. The muffin was a good size and pretty moist. I think the waffles are best hot and might be better eating them fresh at the restaurant. We put ours in the air frier for a couple minutes to get them crisp. The waffles were pretty good. The restaurant doesn't have egg whites, which was unfortunate. We didn't need all the toppings for the waffles but the fresh fruit was a good edition. Overall we'd definitely go back.

Great breakfast spot! Ordered the sunny stack and good pesto brisket sandwiches with roasted potatoes that were amazing. I was most excited for their matcha lattes so we ordered the strawberry matcha and Mother Earth which were 10/10! So fun and cool. Would highly recommend to others and the plan is to come back and try other menu items!

An excellent spot to find gluten free food. Got the mochi waffle meal with bacon and scrambled eggs. It was the perfect combination of sweet and salty. The coffee was also roasted beautifully. There is plenty of seating options near the cafe if the seating inside is full. This would be a 5 star except the pastry I ordered was missing from my takeout and the coffee I purchased was continuously leaking.

This is a very solid cafe with a very unique flavor profile! With most dishes containing either pão de queijo or mochi dough, you can't find any other place like this in the Boston area. If you're a fan of matcha, the drinks here are also very good! I ordered a "mother earth" matcha latte, and even though I honestly had no idea what the flavor was, it was absolutely delicious and probably the best matcha I've tried in the area thus far. I also ordered the crack chicken sandwich which was very good, although the bread was the only thing that stood out for me. I noticed in other reviews that people usually got a side sauce with this sandwich, which I unfortunately didn't get, but not sure how big of a deal breaker that is. I'd love to try some of their other menu options as everything here sounded and looked very tasty! Overall I think this is a cute place to hang out at or stop by to grab some food to-go.

Friendly service! Clean modern space! Got the sunny stack sandwich with the pao de queijo. It was pretty tasty and the bread was a nice texture. Was a bit small for the price but overall still fun to try!

There are options for AYCE as well as by weight, and if you do by weight you have to weigh everything you get at the side buffet and only get meat from the counter, so we opted for AYCE because that seemed cumbersome. The service here was friendly and attentive and as long as your token is green, the meat literally comes nonstop! I really liked their sides and salads, especially the plantains and fresh fruits. The meats were perfectly done and though they didn't really ask, all my pieces were medium/medium rare which is how I like it. The cut that was infused with garlic was really good, as were the sirloin and the chicken hearts and spicy pork sausages. Some pieces were very salty, but I'm pretty sensitive to salt. The grilled pineapple was luscious. If we didn't already have cake waiting for us at home, I would have definitely indulged in some tres leches or lime cake. They ended the meal with cooked cheese dipped in honey or guava sauce which was interesting. The fresh fruit at the salad bar was really refreshing. I probably wouldn't come back because it's just way too much meat/food for me and not my usual favorite (also rather pricey for dinner/weekends). However, my family had a great meal here and I think it's definitely a step up from fogo de chao in terms of quality and service. If you're into Brazilian steakhouses (or steak in general) I would highly recommend this place.

Thank you, Muqueca, for warming me up…read more Fish with Shrimp Moqueca: Made in the Capixaba recipe, this version replaced red palm oil and coconut milkthem with tomatoes--which happened to be my favorite. The broth was warm, flavorful, and refreshing. The initial notes are the sweetness of onions and bell peppers, followed by the delicate aroma of cilantro, leaving a clean taste impression. The whitefish fillets are tender and flavorful, yet still retain a subtle chewiness. The Pirão sauce, made with the fish broth and tapioca starch, was rich and thick, enhancing both the saltiness and umami, even reminiscent of Cantonese style abalone sauce. The two flavors were distinct yet complementary, a true delight with rice--though fresh, higher-quality Thai jasmine rice would be better. The earthenware pot, bearing the marks of time, kept the food warm; the portion was also very generous, perfect for sharing. I ended up taking some home for a second meal. Flan: Although I was quite full, the deliciousness of the moqueca piqued my interest in trying dessert. The pudding had a smooth and delicate texture, unlike the often sticky flaky texture of supermarket flans. The egg flavor wasn't strong, while the caramel syrup was rich and smooth, with an irresistible initial bitterness followed by a delightful sweetness. Plus, the syrup was generous, making it wonderful to coat every slice of cake in it. No wonder it's their signature dessert. Hot Sauce: The homemade hot sauce was highly recommended by my server. It didn't look very spicy, but it was far beyond my tolerance. However, I must admit it was incredibly delicious, with a refreshing citrus flavor and a smooth, emulsified texture alongside the spiciness, creating a very rich flavor profile. Being unable to handle spice is a real shame in its presence. The server's movements were elegant, the service attentive, the pace comfortable, and he satisfied some of my curiosity as a cuisine lover.

Meat Serving: My favorites were all kinds of beef! The Premium of Top Sirloin and Top Sirloin with Garlic were extremely juicy and tender, as you can see. I recommended medium rare, and don't cook it more than medium. Tri-Tip Steak and Tri-Tip Steak with Cheese were relatively coarse, but had a layer of fat that made them more flavorful. I recommended medium; medium-well would be too dry. Lamb Steak was juicy and flavorful, with no gamey taste, so eat with confidence. Chicken Wrapped with Bacon and Chicken Legs were garlic-flavored, but the meat was a bit tough. Cheese with Honey was a calorie bomb but really delicious; the cheese had a slightly gamey taste, and the more honey, the better. Most importantly, the grilled meats here are just the right amount of salty; only the Chicken Heart and Pork Sausage were very salty. There were various sauces to choose from, but I personally recommend the oily and slightly sour Chimichurri, or simply salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Salad Station: Foods were plentiful and all very fresh and of good quality. My favorite was the Apple Salad, which was like the old-fashioned "fruit and salad dressing" version from my childhood--it was nostalgic and had a wonderfully refreshing sweet and sour taste. The Smoked Trout was tender and had a wonderfully flavorful fat, but considering it from freshwater , I only had a small taste. The Clam Chowder had a rich creaminess that perfectly complemented the umami of the clams. The Bruschetta, with its creamy sweetness from roasted garlic paired with the crispy bread, was a delightful little treat. Side Dishes: My personal favorite was the Mashed Potatoes, fried potato balls with a crispy, airy exterior and a creamy filling. The Yucca Croquette was like a tapioca version of Pão de Queijo, with the same crispy crust and mochi-like texture, but a milder cheese flavor. The Caramelized Bananas were too soft and mushy; cooked bananas always have a rotten taste. The Crispy Polenta was very hard, mainly cornstarch, and had little flavor. Desserts: The waiter's recommendation, the Red Velvet Cake, was definitely on point. It was less sweet and had a gentler sweetness, more suitable for Chinese tastes. If you like it sweeter, get more of the part with white chocolate sauce. The Mango Cake had a very smooth mousse and a rich mango flavor. The Keylime Pie was too sweet and sour, too strong a flavor.

It was quiet and empty, maybe because we visited during lunch. I'd love to come back on a Sunday to experience it. My biggest disappointment was the restaurant's did not allow me to take home leftover food. I had a piece of salmon and some pineapple left on my plate and was told I couldn't take it home. That was beyond frustrating. They remove the charge from my bill, I would have liked to keep the food rather than receive the discount. It felt wasteful to throw away perfectly good food, especially when food waste is such a serious issue. It was literally half a piece of salmon. I don't understand the logic of losing money on the meal and throwing food that could have been enjoyed later. That left a negative impression on an otherwise excellent dining experience. Overall, the food and service were outstanding, but the no-takeout policy for leftovers is something I hope they reconsider this crazy thoughts

The Food~ The spicy sausage is juicy and rich with a bit of a kick. The garlic and regular Picanha meat are also soft and tender. The crusty skin with the garlic and salt bits mends well with the meat. Paired together with the jasmine butter rice neutralizes the saltiness and pulls you back for more. With so many restaurant options around, we chanced it and landed here. The moment you step inside, you're hit with that scent of garlic and seafood. My kid and I gave each the 'look' that said: this is it! Casa Portugal is inviting and decorated in soft blues+whites giving a coastal feel and the service equally matched the energy perfectly: attentive and kind. Our plump and juicy shrimp in tomato sauce starter was rich and full of garlic. It was the kind of appetizer where you find yourself wanting extra bread just to sip up that garlicky sauce. For our main plates, my kid picked the grilled octopus, and I went with the sea bream. The octopus was "like butta," and had that perfect char on the outside but silky inside. My sea bream was nice and I particularly liked that they got rid of the head and tail for me. Both our man plates by the way- had a nice amount of potatoes and steamed vegetables. And here's another part that really stood out- pricing. For the quality and freshness of the seafood, everything felt reasonable. All in all, come to Casa P. for a good meal. I ordered off of the specials menu, Bacalhau com natas (Cod with Portuguese cream). It was very yummy, fresh fish and a light cream. It came with salad but I asked for rice. Instead of substituting the waitress gave me both and charged an extra $5...oh well. Salad was good and rice too. My boyfriend got the Filetes de Peixe (Fried fish filet with salad, rice & potatoes).
