Got mine with regular milk, which I prefer! We also got the golden banana latte with oat milk and it had a good balance of flavor. I usually don't like when banana lattes overpower the drink, so this was also a great choice! Interior was clean & aesthetic, had plenty of seating inside and outside. What a pleasant and unique little spot in Cambridge! I dropped in to pick up coffee and breakfast for me and my spouse on a Monday morning. There was a short line which I didn't expect, but which boded well for the experience. I ordered us a hot latte and an iced coffee as well as a plain pao de queijo and one filled with guava. The coffee was great, but I was blown away by how delicious the pao de queijo was. It's more savory than sweet and the guava filling wasn't overwhelming in the way that, say, a jelly donut can be. The texture is completely addictive. One of these breads and a coffee is a great start to the day. read more

Aside from the signature pão de queijo (cheese bread), it doesn't have a strong regional feature; it offered more like a light/white-style/pretty meal. But enough said, it was delicious!! Traditional pão de queijo: My first time trying it, the texture was so interesting! The outside was hard, crisp, and slightly rough, a bit like chapata; the inside was soft and delicate, but also porous, slightly moist, and very chewy. If I had to find a close relative, it might be mochi (bread). A subtle saltiness established a solid base flavor, the main notes are cheese and wheat, with a hidden hint of black pepper --everything I wanted. It was perfect for sandwiches, just like the ones they offer, though a little too small. Soft & Creamy Scrambled Eggs: I haven't had such good Western-style scrambled eggs in ages... "Soft & creamy" is no exaggeration. One bite is bursting with the aroma of eggs and butter, not greasy at all, with the refreshing scent of basil. The warmth melts the Parmesan cheese perfectly, enhancing the creamy flavor and making the texture even smoother. You can choose your own sauce when ordering this dish, but I felt it wasn't really necessary. Beef Brisket: Relatively less impressive, but still acceptable. It's simply pan-fried, and the lean meat is a bit dry. I recommend slicing it transversely and eating it with pão de quiejo. The moisture in the bread alleviated the texture of the lean meat, and the meat's aroma and subtle smokiness enriched the bread. The above three items constitute the pao de quiejo & egg combo. Bacon can be replaced with beef brisket for an extra $1, a lighter and healthier option. Lemon Honey Chamomile Latte: It turned out, never try something you don't understand on the menu. The staff was very friendly and helped with menu questions. I thought the price was fair for the quantity and quality of food. I got the arugula salad, tomato, and basil soup, and a fruit cup, and my friend got one of the mochi waffles with a side of bacon and eggs and a pao de quejo. I've been to the Somerville location for brunch and loved it. This time, I swung by the Cambridge location to grab something to go--specifically the Brazilian cheese breads (both plain and guava-filled) and their cookie. The cheese breads are dense and great quality, but honestly...I felt ripped off. I've been spoiled by all the Brazilian bakeries in Somerville/Medford, where these usually run 50 cents each. At Bom Dough, they're $3.50 for the plain and $4 for the filled. That's borderline robbery. I still bought them because I was craving them, but next time I'll stick with Somerville bakeries. The cookie, on the other hand, is absolutely worth the price. Thick, soft, super chocolatey--addictive. The space itself is relaxed and open. Incredible! Was visiting for Thanksgiving break and came here MULTIPLE times for breakfast, as I was staying in the Kimpton Hotel (~10 min). I don't recall what the hubby got, perhaps a cold brew as he usually orders that wherever we go. I got the Mother Earth matcha and it was DIVINE. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, it was delicious and compliment whatever we ate. We also shared 2 different pao de quejos -- traditional with a side of their special butter that I wish I could have a jar of to take home lol, and a guava one we shared for dessert after our sandwiches. I also forgot what sammy my hubby got but I will NEVER forget my sammy -- I indulged the Wicked Truffle Smoked Ham sandwich. I'm a sucker for anything truffle and this sammy was indeed beyond delish! Do be forewarned, from what we ordered, it's definite CHEESE OVERLOAD so we felt heavy for our walk to Harvard. I'm honestly glad we chose to take that walk instead of Ubering actually. I have gotten a few snacks and drinks from here on the go. But i never sat down and gotten served food until today! Last time i got the maple iced latte. Did not like it all. It came with 1 pao de quezo cut in half . I was expecting at least 2 but i also have a small appetite (i get full fast) so i wasn't complaining lol. As well as hollandaise which i never tried? It was good! I was pleasantly shocked. It also came with baked potatoes/home fries. The Benedict eggs were yummy but could use more seasoning. Luckily they have a cafe condiment bar if you wanna add salt, pepper or ketchup. It was very clean and the bathrooms were so spacious and single use (privacy)! We enjoyed our Bom Dough brunch! We ordered to go once we got to the restaurant. It was a bit hard to find where to stand while waiting for our order, but the staff was kind. Once we got home to our food, I was excited to try the gluten free muffin, which was pretty good. The muffin was a good size and pretty moist. I think the waffles are best hot and might be better eating them fresh at the restaurant. We put ours in the air frier for a couple minutes to get them crisp. The waffles were pretty good. The restaurant doesn't have egg whites, which was unfortunate. We didn't need all the toppings for the waffles but the fresh fruit was a good edition. Overall we'd definitely go back. read more

This is a very solid cafe with a very unique flavor profile! With most dishes containing either pão de queijo or mochi dough, you can't find any other place like this in the Boston area. If you're a fan of matcha, the drinks here are also very good! I ordered a "mother earth" matcha latte, and even though I honestly had no idea what the flavor was, it was absolutely delicious and probably the best matcha I've tried in the area thus far. I also ordered the crack chicken sandwich which was very good, although the bread was the only thing that stood out for me. I noticed in other reviews that people usually got a side sauce with this sandwich, which I unfortunately didn't get, but not sure how big of a deal breaker that is. Food was amazing! Strawberry Matcha Latte was definitely my favorite. Mother Earth Matcha Latte was also pretty good. The Berry Açaí Cup was amazing, fruits were fresh, blueberries weren't sour and strawberries were sweet. The Crack Chicken lived up to its name because it was delicious. I almost took out the tomatoes because I don't like when they're thick but it melted with the sandwich's sauce and the grilled chicken was juicy which surprised me since I thought it would be dry. Now if you want to sit in a nice area, you might have to come early since it can get pretty packed, and the inside feels crowed. I've been to their other location in Inman Square, and was so surprised to be walking and pass one here! I'll start by saying this location is definitely smaller, but I enjoyed how many options there were for outdoor seating, and it's in a nice, calm area right next to the mall. I only got a drink today, and was so pleasantly surprised with the peach matcha latte! I ordered it with less ice, soy milk, and no sweetener. I was unsure if the peach puree would taste weird with milk, and if the lack of sweetener would make it taste bitter- but this drink was amazing! It was fruity with a subtle matcha flavor (not grassy at all) and the sweetness level was actually perfect for me. I found my new favorite drink! Hope people continue supporting this new location, and i'm super glad there's one here in this part of town. Also want to shout out the workers- multiple staff came by asking how our food was, and asked every single party both inside and out, which i've never experienced at the other location. It was a bit crowded when we arrived, and we had to wait for a table--though not too long. We were a group of seven, and the space felt a little tight. The food was okay, but definitely on the pricey side. Customer service was also just okay, not quite what I expected after hearing good things from friends who had been there before. One of my friend's dishes took so long that it only arrived when most of us were almost finished--and it still came out wrong. Our food also took longer than expected to come out. The pao de quejo is delicious, first and foremost. We wish we had gotten sandwiches after the fact, but hindsight is 20/20 and we must review the things we did get. The mochi waffles are very dry. The churro one isn't served with syrup so you're stuck with a dry waffle with no reprieve. The whipped cream is much too sweet and dense to help with the dry problem. And the sweet "sauce" it comes with is served cold in a plastic container on the side, so it isn't melty and saucy the way I thought it would be. Which means your only real moisture there comes from the bananas. So it's overall just very, very dry. Our eggs were overcooked, our bacon was undercooked, and the cold brew was just bitter iced coffee. Everyone who worked there seemed nice. No issues with staff. And the restaurant was quiet and had plenty of open tables. I would avoid the mochi waffles next time and opt for a sandwich. The pao was the best part of our breakfast and I wanted to love this place so badly. But it was far too expensive to justify being this middle of the road. Over $70 for two to have breakfast. It seems as though lunch would be cheaper as well. So maybe that's the gist of my review: We should have come here for lunch instead of breakfast. read more

A very cute cafe! My friends and I went here during the week for lunch, and they had quite a large coffee selection in addition to pastries and sandwiches. Honestly, I thought my smoked salted caramel latte was okay, but my friend's condensed milk latte tasted better. I also got the crack chicken sandwich, which was okay. For the bread choice in your sandwich, my friend had the pao de qeijo (which I think is their signature), so I would recommend that you try that. Within 5 minutes of stepping inside Bom Dough, it instantly became my favorite cafe. Their Pao de Queijo is addictive, their 'cortado' is a welcome relief from the too-milky cappuccino served a other cafes. Service is superb, and the staff are all friendly. They recently expanded from Inman, and I enjoyed my first visit! The pao de queijo ($3.25+tax+tip) was excellent, really chewy and flavorful. I had the breakfast gnocchi ($14), which was also flavorful and quite satisfying, though I felt like it could have used some more greens as a personal preference. The Red Jacket Orchards' strawberry apple juice ($3.75) was quite nice as well. Bom Dough opened new location at East Cambridge! We tried when they opened and waited for it shows up on Yelp for the new location review. I love their traditional pao! Even tho it's bit salty side but I feel it's unique that hard to get from other stores/ restaurants in Boston. Staff recommended breakfast gnocchi and it became our favorite dishe from Bom Dough! This is Bom Dough's second location, and I had an overall great experience! Their pao de queijo was warm, fluffy, and cheesy! Pretty identical quality to their first location. One of my favorite things to get here is their iced matcha latte! I'm no connoisseur, but their matcha flavor is much stronger than other spots, and I like the different variations, such as strawberry matcha, peach matcha, maple matcha, etc. Their interior is very cute!
