I get cravings for the super pesto crepe here, which is loaded with pulled smoked chicken, spinach, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto. It's a pretty good size for me and is good as a leftover if I'm not able to finish it. I also like the potato soup for its simplicity - tender Yukon potato cubes in a light broth with olive oil and green onions. Service is fast and friendly and the space is large, casual and airy with plenty of seating and big windows for people watching. It's next to the Somerville theatre close to the Davis T stop, and there's a couple of parking lots nearby in addition to street parking. I devoured this in seconds - the creamy Nutella paired with the bananas and thin crepe... just pure perfection on a plate! Sadly, although the super chicken crepe we got had a delicious, savory filling, there wasn't much of it, especially at the $14.50 price point. My açaí bowl was also half the size of typical açaí bowls in Boston, with barely any açaí and mostly just granola. At $12.50, this was not worth the price to me. This has been my go-to cafe for hot days, cold days, work days, and don't-want-to-be-at-home days for two years. For the last two summers, almost every night I would bring my laptop to this cafe, sit down at a table, and journal until closing hours. . It's never too cold or too hot. The crepes are delicious, and the establishment itself feels like a secondary home. I do wish the tables were bigger, and sometimes the outlets don't work. I love eating crepes, especially more savory ones. I have a hard time finding some crepe places that offer lots of selection that I choose (I think..the last time I ate BOTH savory + dessert crepes in one go..yes..one go!! was in Long Beach, CA back in 2017!!). So..I've been drooling/wanting to have good crepes for a long, long time!! My most recent trip to Boston, I managed to resolve my need for crepes multiple times! I think I went 3 times...trying 3 different crepes for breakfast in the 5 days I was there! I love that they have a lot of selection for crepes, so you are bound to find something you like/want to try there. The crepes are made to order...so..you need to be a bit patient if many people are there..and they will come serve you at your table. I also like that they are open pretty early..and into the evening, so you can grab whatever you want (actually..not just crepes..but some other snacks/drinks as well). The only thing is..I don't think the place is super conducive to working. I wished the seatings were more comfortable and there was internet to do work..so I can munch on multiple different crepes in a single visit while there for a few hours. However, I like that the place is in a good, convenient area, a few minutes walk from Davis Sq...so it's just a super convenient place to get to! Mr Crepe is definitely one of the places I would want to visit again when I'm back in Boston next time! read more

7:30 am. Thursday morning. Only a few people are here. My first visit I just wanted a simple breakfast sandwich. They nailed it. Sausage egg and cheese on a sesame bagel. Toasted with Swiss cheese. The bagel edges were crispy, but the rest was soft and warm throughout. The cheese held its own and didn't disintegrate as it oozed over the edges. They used link sausage that they cut up into about 30 little pieces. The cheese held the sausage to the eggs which were perfectly cooked. I also got a warm cup of smooth coffee in a big comfy mug which I drank listening to Tina Turners "what's love got to do with it" over their in-house speakers. The staff was friendly and my bagel was delivered to my table that had a nice view of Davis square. I'll come back here for this experience. It's warm on a cold rainy day and just what I hoped it would be. You should come here, I think you could be happy too. read more

Yummy yum crepes! Finally decided to try this place because I happen to be in the area around dinner time. It's an order at the counter type of place and then they bring your food to your table. They have coffee, drinks, sweet and savory kinds of crepes. I decided on the chicken pesto crepe and a chai latte. I ordered the bigger kind of crepe because I was starving but they also have smaller versions if you're not that hungry. The crepe was very good. It was loaded with veggies and tons of pieces of chicken. The pesto flavor was also very good. I quickly devoured it and wished I had ordered two more! The chai latte was also very good and it complemented my crepe very nicely. After you are finished with your meal you pick up your own plates and place them by the service counter. Came here on a Sunday morning and the place was moderately busy with several tables taken, but the wait to order and get our food wasn't long at all so they seem pretty efficient in that regard! We got one sweet and one savory crepe to try different flavors and it didn't disappoint! Our apple crepe originally didn't come with ice cream despite the menu saying it did so I went up to the front to ask for it and they happily handed me one scoop with an apology - it seems the person making my crepe didn't know it was supposed to come with ice cream, but they seemed new so it's understandable. We walked around the area for 20+ minutes looking for somewhere to have a coffee with a snack and take a seat. Finally, we stumbled upon Mr Crepe and gave it a go. My partner ordered a breakfast sandwich on a bagel, I ordered a strawberry nutella crepe, and we both got coffees (cappuccino for him & vanilla latte for me). We both agreed that the coffees were extremely average-- in fact, mine was actually VERY burnt tasting and didn't have a strong vanilla flavor. My crepe was delicious, perfectly thin, but stuffing was minimal. The strawberries were only in about 1/3 of the crepe. His breakfast sandwich was fine, but "on par with a frozen Jimmy Dean". There isn't any wifi, but there was plenty of seating. Street parking is scarce but we got lucky and found a spot right out front. The food is fine, but I did have a weird experience with the baristas. I ordered an iced latte with soy and when I got my order it was undrinkable. I let a barista know and asked if they could remake it and she started blaming me for ordering my drink wrong. Haven't been to this place in ages until this evening. I met with some friends here. I think the food is OK - need of here nor there. The tea is pretty good - It's Mem tea, and that's what had tonight. I was having a good time talking to my friends. I had oat milk with my tea. The woman I ordered from was a really pleasant small build curly hair woman. I ordered a large tea so I needed more oat milk. When I asked for some more from a different woman (I'm presuming management), presenting a little paper cup. I was originally given for the said oat milk, she first gave me a bizarre look. Then she asked me "have you been charged?" I replied that I did pay for my order. She mumbled something about being charged extra for oat milk and that regular milk was on the coffee area (which was not true, there was nothing to lighten coffee or tea). She then mumbled something about oatmeal being extra as she begrudgingly gave me my requested side of oat milk. See, this is what I hate about the Boston area. There's so many great things - historic places, great public, transportation, great hospitals, schools, etc. But I really, really, really hate. The baleful glares and hateful attitude. This little encounter destroyed the enjoyment of the evening. As I got back to my table, my friend asked me what was wrong because she could see by the look on my face that I was not happy. I'm making it a policy to never patronize a place where I've been treated with such disrespect as for being accused of stealing. Never never again with this place. A little helpful hint to manager at Mr. Crêpe: if you want repeat customers, maybe don't treat them with such a rude attitude. Came here on 8/21/22 as a group of four and ordered four crepes (and one of us got an iced tea) for $47.98 after tax, before tip. The crepes are decently sized, I had worked out before and would say I wasn't hungry at the end, but I don't know if I'd consider myself full? (if that makes sense) When you walk into this place, it's not immediately clear how you're supposed to eat - do you get seated and there's a menu? Do you order somewhere? Do I need to flag someone down? Quite a few employees walked past us until finally after maybe 3 minutes (and a line of 3-4 parties, all of whom seemed relatively confused as well, I guess there weren't any repeat customers waiting) the person at the counter told us to grab a menu and order at the counter. After getting asked a few times what we'd like while we desperately tried to read the menu as quickly as possible with the growing line, we each decided on a savory crepe and were quickly given one of those light up buzzers for when the food was ready. We tried to sit inside and grabbed a table near the entrance, but it was pretty clear that the place was packed and people had no sense of personal space, so we moved outside. They actually have a pretty nice outdoor shaded area to the side of the restaurant, so we grabbed a table there to wait. And wait. After 20 minutes, some of my party decided to head inside with the buzzer to see what was going on. Right after they left, our food came out, and I had to explain to a very confused server what was going on. Really wish the person at the counter would explain that they had some system to figure out whether the food was supposed to go inside or outside (GPS? Try and give the food to every table inside before trying outside? I still don't really know how they figured it out). The crepe itself was exceedingly mediocre, unfortunately. It was almost as if all the ingredients had been cooked at 8am that morning and the crepes were assembled as they were ordered - everything was lukewarm and soggy, with no real flavors. I'm positive that they mass-produce the crepe skins (which is okay) and then they sit around for a while until they get to room temperature or they're used to make a crepe (which is not so okay) - I'm positive the crepe skin wasn't made the moment I ordered, unless my crepe really had been sitting around the restaurant for 15 minutes before being served. I did notice that quite a few other tables had sweet crepes (maybe something I would have noticed if I hadn't been so rushed to order, unfortunately), so maybe the regulars know that the savory hot crepes are not the move. Getting the iced tea was also an adventure. When I went inside to tell them that we were missing the iced tea, the first employee I asked told us "I can't help you." What? Luckily the second one got it immediately... hopefully this was just a breakdown in communication and they heard what I asked for incorrectly, because otherwise this is a pretty odd response. The spot was busy enough that maybe it was just a bad day, so I might be back to try a sweet crepe (where flavor and temperature matter a bit less, and ice cream, fruit, and Nutella matter much more), but I would go elsewhere for a full meal for sure. read more

The service here has gone wayyyy downhill. I keep coming back for the food, though which is delicious and the reason for three stars instead of two. The first time I visited within the month, I had ordered an Uber that was 6 minutes away so I thought I maybe had time to buy a crepe (I knew it was a dicey proposition but sometimes you've gotta live on the edge). As I stood next to the glass waiting for my crepe to be made, the workers had no sense of urgency. When the crepe was made, there were two workers bagging the crepes. I had to guide them to bag mine and hand it to me, reaching out my hand to give them a sense of urgency but still it was like watching snails become molasses. My Uber had arrived and I would have been on time had it not been for their lackadaisical attitudes. Never fear, though, I caught my ride, but was about a minute late. The second time I visited this month, I stood at the counter for a good twenty seconds before anyone came to help me. I was not given a buzzer for my order like I usually am so I just sat at a table and assumed they would tell me when it was ready. But you know what happens when you assume things... Feeling like enough time had passed I looked around to see if my crepe was somehow ready and saw it sitting on the counter that I was sitting facing away from. The workers seemed more interested in talking to each other than actually working. Feeling defeated for having wasted time (who knows how long it was sitting there), I left with crepe in hand. This most recent time there was a new cashier who was clearly training, so I have high hopes for MC. Maybe it can become my favorite crepe joint. Although, let's face it, they've kind of cornered the savory crepe market in Davis Square. Side note: It would be great if MC registered with Yelp or provided a contact email on their website so I could provide this input directly-- I hate writing negative reviews. read more

It was delicious and devoured in under 5 minutes. If inhaling food is a skill, I should be in the Guinness Book of World Records! I also tasted some of my husband's banana chocolate crepe topped with vanilla icecream. Delicious, duh. I do really like that you can see the icecream here and pick whatever flavor you want- just like an icecream parlor. One of the workers there was new and being trained. His English wasn't as good and he was a bit confused probably because he was new. But I cut him some slack and our experience was not hindered anyway!
