Hidden in the residential corner of Watertown/ Cambridge, this cafe has gone under my radar for quite some time although I drive by there a lot. It has a small parking lot and street parking but I made a mistake of going there on a Sunday morning and it was all full nearby. Cute cafe and decor with quite a lot seating but it is packed into a small area. I have tried pour over and vanilla latte there. Pour over was great; you can choose over their different selection of beans. Coffee is good quality and delicious but their lattes can get expensive. They also have pastries that I haven't tried. -7.5/10

Orange Blossom Latte.

One of my favorite coffee places. I love the coffee blend and flavors. Try their Orange Blossom Latte

Intelligentsia feels like a piece of California vibes in Boston. I wish there were more cafes like this one here. Today, I tried the Avena Latte, one of their specialty drinks with cayenne, a spicy taste. It was interesting, but I surprisingly liked it a lot! It's an addicting taste to be honest. People may say it's overpriced, but it was a very good drink! I'm someone who drinks coffee all across Boston, and this drink was fantastic!! The ham and cheese croissant I got was also crunchy and very fresh. The service is very friendly and very attentive. There are beautiful airy spaces to sit, and even the bathroom was very clean and aesthetic (a beautiful light fixture). I like come here every now and then as a treat! Love this spot!

Perhaps one of my top 10 cappuccino of the year. A cute spot with an amazing barista. There is ample space to work or enjoy quiet conversations. There is limited parking in the lot but plenty on the side street.

I really appreciate Intelligenista, their matcha is delightful - earthy, frothy and preciously bright. The Avena Latte with orange peel and spices brings me back to my favorite coffee treat in San Francisco and warms my heart (and my body with some cayenne spice). The outdoor seating provides a delicious sunny vibe with plenty of indoor space to balance. The staff are joyful, curious, and calm - so worth the adventure!

Coffee & AC. Because not all places have that creature comfort.

Love their matcha. Service was amazing and the ambiance is ideal for working remote. Excited to try their baked goods next time.

Coffee is on the pricey side but good, however the online ordering has been broken for months.

Horrifically expensive -- coffee is fine but you'll feel slightly robbed while drinking it.

For food we ordered the eggplant sando and the chicken piccata sandwich. While both tasted good, I was surprised at how much more I enjoyed the eggplant one. The eggplant was breaded well and crispy without feeling too heavy on oil. The rest of the sandwich with arugula and roasted red peppers also felt fresh. The chicken sandwich was also good with thin layers of chicken, and flavored well. However I liked the chicken where as for eggplant I felt the sandwich as a whole worked well. While busy, it still feels like enough movement of groups that you can easily find a seat. The staff is also very friendly making it a neighborhood spot I would definitely come back to.

The bacon was crispy, broccoli roasted with seasoning, a perfectly cooked over medium egg all on a brioche bun. There was also spicy goat cheese spread on the slider, however there wasn't a lot there to taste it with every bite and it certainly wasn't spicy. I would have loved more of it, because the bites that did get some were absolutely delicious in enhancing flavor with the egg. The sandwich itself is larger than expected, bigger than a typical slider which was a pleasant surprise. I also ordered an incredible Apple Cheddar biscuit on the side. It was freshly made, buttery, and had little apple chunks in it. Great experience and I highly recommend visiting if you're looking for quick and convenient breakfast, with a great quality and fair price!

He shouted out that she had "contaminated" the drink and he would make a new one for the correct customer. This was all said in a loud, actorly voice so that everyone in the shop could know that He Was Displeased. Note, the "contamination" consisted of the woman a) holding the cup of hot chocolate and, b) walking to her table with it. On a previous occasion, he yelled at an older woman in her 90s because she needed to sit down on a chair while he was sweeping. He snidely told her that she should go outside if she needed to sit. Her confusion about the seating was understandable, because for some unknown reason the cafe needs to close a full hour before the bookshop (and they begin this process earlier even than that, by "helpfully" putting away the chairs and turning off the lights). I guess they sell some croissants and coffee, but honestly: who cares, given the above?

However, I was happy to find that there was a cafe in the back corner that opens in the mornings. So on the way to work, I tried out their cute cafe and got a pumpkin-spiced latte with almond milk. Overall, the coffee was decent and wasn't bitter or burnt (which was impressive since when I visited, the cafe was very new with little experience). This definitely earns them points in my book. I will say that they lose points (in my books) just based on my personal preferences. First off, being a brewery, expect there to be a STRONG smell of beer. Even though I wasn't in there for long, I could still find myself getting a headache and not enjoying the strong smell. I'll also say that the service I received the morning I went wasn't the best, and the man who made my drink definitely did not want to be there. As I've mentioned in other reviews I've done, I rate places HEAVILY based on service and kindness. Overall, the coffee was decent, but there are better places to go on Waltham that I would rather go to instead.
