****ZERO STARS**** Today I stood in line for 15 min to return something in the Amazon line. There were two gentleman in the store. One in the photo section, Tim, and one in the front, Jonny. Neither greeted me or the two other ladies in line waiting to be assisted. I had to ask the lady in front of me whether someone has greeted her and she said no. Then the gentleman in photo over heard and finally stated "I'll be with you on a moment". Still after ten more minutes of waiting, I just left. I felt so disrespected and unacknowledged. The man in the front just watched from a far without offering any assistance or back up. This is not great customer service at all. Don't waste your time at this location. read more

Staff are friendly but the quality of their printing/lamination service is poor for the price. I placed a lamination order for pick-up with a special request to round the edges of the printed and laminated pages. The order was ready to be picked up on the same day even though I place the order after 12pm. Print quality was decent but there were smudges on some of the laminated pages. The rounded edges were unevenly cut. The smudges wiped off easily but I was disappointed with the presentation of the final product. read more

Once a year, I visit Staples to pick up a day planner. It's always a mundane trip. But visiting Staples with my six-year-old daughter recently made me appreciate the store. There are toys, games, different color markers and Post-It notes, and more. She ran down every aisle with so much joy and glee. It made me see Staples as a magical wonderland. Staples at 18th Street and East Camelback Road in Phoenix is a great place to shop with friendly and helpful employees. Recently I purchased printer cartridges at this location.Kevin G., Sales Manager, assisted me at checkout. He provided detailed information about updated printer options I might consider that would not use the same print cartridges I use now. He also informed me about the option to return my used print cartridges for Staples to recycle and I would receive $2 per cartridge. I declined that offer although....later when I was cleaning up projects at home, I took the used cartridges over to Staples to be recycled. On a previous visit to this location, at checkout, the representative surprised me with a coupon that reduced the cost of the cartridges down to $20 (instead of regular price that is over $100.). I made an appointment to get my TSA precheck application verified at this location. I showed up a few minutes early of the appointed time and the person at the counter said, "we're not doing them today." "I made an appointment... for today...." His response was that there system was down. Things happen, but a call cancelling the appointment is the minimum you should expect. read more

Why does it cost so much to fax from one of your machines? I paid over $11 to fax just 5 pages. This is highway robbery!

Came in for a passport photo during my lunch break. When I walked in no one was in line at the checkout or passport counter. I asked for assistance. The manager told me she would be right over and then proceeded to open a register (even though there was a cashier open) and proceeded to check out another customer that was not in line when I asked for assistance. I recommend going to Walgreens that's in the same parking lot. read more

With COVID-19 calling ahead is very important, this location has always answered in a timely manner. Answered all questions I had regarding an exchange. Even went as far as emailing me my receipt which made the exchange process effortless! Staff is very professional and there are no long lines @ this location. This morning I was at Staples, to pick up some small items. Haven't been to this office supply store in quite a while. This one is located on the northwest corner of Central Avenue and Osborn Road next to the Walgreens. I always have to hunt around for whatever I am looking for. Plus there are very few employees in site. I did find one employee that was working and was able to get ahold of her without having to tackle her. They all seem very nice and friendly and all but, there never seems to be crowded with customers, if you can imagine. There prices on some of the office items are kind of pricey. Then again I can't compare because if you needed and they have what you need why bother driving all over the city to get your item. My visit here was short but, I knew what I was looking for. Bought other things I probably didn't need but, isn't that always the case when you're shopping for one item and leave with more. It's a nice clean well kept store and probably on the weekends or after hours they get there fill of customers. read more

I would rarely feel compelled to give a review of an office supply store, and it would only be under circumstances where they really pissed me off or really made me happy (and really, what is the potential anyone including me is going to walk out super happy after buying paper?). Nonetheless, I wanted to go out of my way and give this location a 5 star review because I used Yelp to find the address and noticed the prior reviews weren't great. Every person in this store was extremely helpful, friendly, and not annoying, and the individuals I had some questions of were particularly knowledgeable, including JC and Mike. I had a great experience the first time I came here. They helped me choose the right printer and helped me get everything I needed for it. Staff was very friendly! So I decided to come back today to pick up some supplies for my office and was treated really bad. An employee asked me if I needed help and I said yes, but as soon as he saw my service dog, he blurted out that he couldn't help me because of the dog. He didn't even point me in the right direction or get someone else to help me. I almost left right then, but I really needed these supplies and they were about to close, so I got my stuff and left. It's pretty messed up that I couldn't get help because I have a service dog. She's trained and was right next to me the entire time I was in the store. I'm definitely not coming back. read more

After a few visits primarily for print jobs, this store seems to be good if not for the cashier that is customer-oreinted, pleasant and courteous to all. But the young female print center customer service rep behind the counter seems to be the direct opposite of her and the usually older male counterpart to her. By observation and by voiced appeals to her to help with a customer having difficulty with the photcopier, she seemed intent on favoring and helping a white customer and ignoring the other customer, a minority, that needed help completely. Obliviously, she kept helping him to copy his numerous and unweildy very large documents. She spent an abnormal amount of time and practically copied all his documents. There was nothing technical about his need to figure how to photocopy his documents but to copy them in quarters or appropriatly. Meanwhile she dismissed all other customers without even a courteous "I will be with you as soon I can" or similar. Further delaying everyone else in line. After appealing to the manager, he was almost equally dismissive in his looking into the problem. I understand the employee pool is becoming shallow, so to speak, but this attitude will not help the store. Such an outright disregard for others at the cost of selected persons borders on racism, if not at least operational suicide. Especially considering the demographics of the community. I am a retired soldier and the attitude here in Phoenix is thoroughly contrary to the ideals I have fought for. I will complain to the Regional office as well. read more

I was also checked out by JC who was speedy and kind. At first, I did not want to go to Staples as the reviews I read on yelp did not give me the warm fuzzies so I looked at FedEx Kinko's on Central and the first review was terrible & mentioned the associate's name that was terrible and unfortunately when I called the same person named in the review was the person who answered me so I decided not to go there and give Staples a chance. Don't shop here if you are shopping for anything more than pencils and glue sticks! Really bad experience buying a printer. What a salesperson told me would work didn't! I was overcharged for an hp printer as the discount was supposedly applied to an hp insta-ink card that was sold to me incorrectly for what I had requested. When trying to return the $20 insta-ink card for the correct one, I was only returned $10. When I showed the receipt which clearly states I was charged $20, the manager threw $10 on the counter he had taken out of his own pocket. Service Here at the Photo/Copy center is manned by one of the most unprofessionally person ( Dwight ) who relied on his memory to take an order , and didn't bother to to write anything down and it was only my second contact with him that I reiterated the specs I needed for a project I was working , again never bothering to write anything down only telling me that it would be an hour to complete my order. I returned 2 hours later and it had not been touched or completed . I suggest if you need anything done professionally and without the added attitude of , " we're busy " head up the street to FedEx Kinkos in central . I went to this Staples because it is close to home. I first went to buy paper. Was astounded at the price for a ream of all purpose paper. To get the advertised ream for $2.99, one had to get a rewards card that works (mine has never) and then apply on line for a rebate! Hell no, who has time for this shit? When one can get it for $2.99 or less at just about any other store one shops? I also wanted Resume paper, the selection was very limited and a believe a bit overpriced and can also be picked up at a Walmart, Target, or Office Depot (my preferred office supply store) for a fairer price. I left without paper. Oh and the customer service was non-exsistence, other than pointing me in the direction of what I might be looking for as they stood around gossiping among themselves. However, I returned the next afternoon with my computer for the free PC Tune Up. An E-Tech was called up to assist me at the check in desk for computers. It was slightly after 3pm, and he was going to check my computer in until I asked the turn around time and was told I would not get it back today because it was late! Mind you the place was open until 7 or 8 pm. I opt out and asked if they scheduled appointments. Now informed that they did I made an appointment for the next day at 11am. The next day I arrive and check in my computer. I inform them I am having trouble suddenly connecting to the Internet as well as an ongoing annoying problem of computer maintenance messages popping up, and a virus program I bought from Staples not working anymore and not expired. The General Manager Shalamar, was there and assured me they would call when it was ready. I leave. Almost 4 hours later I get a call. I return and am given my computer and told there were no viruses found and that nothing was done so still ongoing have the on going issues and it has not been repaired, but I only find this out after asking! Couldn't someone have called me in those 4 hours and told me this? Maybe I would have given an OK to further investigate to repair the system! I was about to walk out when the GM said wait, there is paperwork they should be giving you and they are to go over it with you. I wait. The two techs bicker over why it isn't printed out. One sends it to the printer and walks away. I wait. I wait until the GM has the guy paged to return! He takes it off the printer and proceeds to go over the information based on my PC check up/ Tune Up. Apparent to the GM this guy is doing a half ass job of it, the GM listening in makes him stop and go over a section or two in a more professional manner. In the end nothing is resolved and I am presented with two options they can take to get my computer operating for $60 and an overnight stay of my computer. One which would delete all data I have stored and restore it to starting status. I opt to take it and make other arrangements and return to them as a last resort- which I openly tell them. I get my PC home and I play around with it for about 30 or 40 minutes. Mind you I have little knowledge of computer issues. I find a "restore recently deleted files from Trash " selection and click it. Presto my computer is restored in 90 seconds! But that apparently this was to detailed a fix for them to do at a Tune Up that took half the work day! But kudos to the GM, if he wasn't' babysitting them the entire day I don't think any of them would have done a thing the entire day! He even had to tell them to clean up the front counter and register area as I waited and waited for that computer report which turned out to be vital paperwork in helping me fix my own system problem. Glad I waited! Need I say, I have no intent on returning for anything here. read more

This Staples has deteriorated over the years. We went in recently to buy some items and were treated rudely by what we were told was a new manager, who refused to help us when we had trouble finding what we wanted. The store was nearly empty at the time. Another customer came to show us where something was, and expressed shock at the managers refusal to help (the "new" manager was a middle aged, slightly built, balding man). In addition, a staff standing near the manager was asked by us to help find something; he looked scared while looking at the nearby manager who had just kicked him out of the register line so I left him alone. Another time I went there to fax something. It just never went thru and I was on a deadline, so went to a Fed Ex and they had no problem faxing it right out at the same price. The Staples was nearly empty that time, too. Their bathrooms are no longer available for customers, another change for the worst. This place has the feel of a place going out of business. read more

The staff conducted our transaction quickly and they didn't complain that we only bought stuff that was on sale and in the clearance pile, ha ha. There was almost no one here while we were shopping, meaning no checkout wait either. They have a good selection of items and still a lot of clearance items too. Worst customer service every time I come to this location. Today was my last straw. I requested to have 2 books cut & bound & paid for Express Service so it would be done by noon today. incompetent, do not go there if you need anything from print shop. tried to get a signature stamp. you have to order the print? they call you say it's ready but you have to wait for them to actually do it when you get there so don't be fooled it's not really ready. in my case they lost mine apparently then the machine wasn't working. no apologies. i had manager come over who just shook his head in disgust and no apologies. out of desperation the print shop employee says well i give it to you for free - how? the machine isn't working ? went to office max. got it while i waited. bye staples read more
