Whenever I have something to mail, this is where I come. Rarely a line, and never one longer than the post office, Moon Valley Postal Center is independently owned and operated with excellent customer service. I especially like that any address I've mailed to before is in their system. I just give them the recipient's name and bada boom: there it is! Most recently, my friend left her sun glasses case while visiting. I cruised in with the case and said, "What's the least expensive way to mail this without it being ruined on the way?" I have been going to Moon Valley Postal for 10+ years as I believe in supporting small local businesses and I enjoyed the "mom and pop" atmosphere. I'm on my third set of owners and the previous 2 were friendly and very much created a community (Moon Valley) atmosphere in the store. Not so with the new owners who took over late last summer. I would now describe the store and owners as cold, unfriendly and definitely not helpful. Last week I attempted to drop off 2 packages to return to the original merchant. Several stores do this (Old Navy, Gap, Natural Life) ...the customer wants to return an item. The customer fills a form on the company website, prints out a receipt, and a mailing label, and is supposed to drop off the return package to a mailing facility. Usually, the returning package needs to be resealed, and the new mailing label taped on. I've been doing this for years at Moon Valley Postal and, in fact, did such a return about 4-6 weeks ago with no problem. Easy-peasy. This time when I dropped off my packages, the employee looked at me like I had just dumped a pile of dog poop on the counter. I was then informed that the packages could not be returned in the manner they were left. Yes...I told the employee that I needed the package to be sealed and the return label taped on. I was informed "We don't do that." When I pointed out that it was no problem on a return that I dropped off previously, I was informed "We don't do that anymore." Hmmm...I wondered why the change in service? Was the employee too busy? When I walked in, there was no one else in the store (in fact, the last couple of times I have been in the store, I was the only customer there.) And the employee was just standing behind the counter. So, I don't think that sealing my packages was really taking them away from a bigger task. Is it a cost issue because I would need them to seal the package and return label on using their mailing tape? How much does a roll of clear mailing tape cost? So, after I was told that they "no longer do that anymore" I scooped up my packages and headed out the door to the UPS store across the street. Friendly staff and an organized store! I've never waited more than 3 minutes to ship something out, quick and helpful!

Owner Steve immediately was not happy to see someone in his shop. I was greeted with a "matter of fact" tone as I am looking for a package I've been trying to hunt down at different postal offices. He just stated "I don't recognized your name, so you don't have a mail drop here and I'm the owner Steve." All he did in his taking was wiggle his head like a sassy women in an 80s TV show. His associate standing next to him by the computer only looked in embarrassment while he glanced at his boss and at the computer again in the short 2 minute interaction I had here at this postal service location. They "require everything that the post office does in order to rent a mailbox" i was told. Including the address on your ID having to match the address on your proof of residency even though were in a pandemic and the MVD is near impossible to get into right now. Well, 2 things... 1. You're not the post office. 2. The post office, nor the ups store, have that requirement. read more

This place is quirky with the little dog and all of the handmade stuff for sale, but the staff is very professional. If you have the proper ID and fill out the paperwork, renting a mailbox is a breeze. Nothing of mine has ever been lost. It's also never really busy, so you get packages quickly. read more

We've always gotten wonderful, friendly, helpful service from Michael and Doyle at this business. We've not been to a USPS facility in about a year now (and not standing in those lines makes me even happier). Highly recommend! read more

This place is great! It's super convenient, clean and quick. I ship Poshmark boxes and Beautycounter samples to clients and it's always so easy to pop in and have them print my labels and let them take care of it! The customer service is also great - always friendly and helpful. They've even offered to help figure out a more cost effective option to shipping certain packages. Highly recommend! read more

I dropped of three packages with prepaid fedex labels. They provided a receipt evidencing 3. Only 2 reached its destination. According to fedex tracking, only 2 left their office. I provided the receipt and fedex tracking results. Their response "not our responsibility"! I'm out $79 and this postal service takes no responsibility. read more

I stopped in to print an email and fax a document. The man behind the counter assured me he could do it but added they would be closing soon. When asked what time they closed I was told 5:30. Looking at my phone it was 5:24 giving me plenty of time to complete this simple service. After a few seconds of looking for the email in my phone, the man says, "can you do it quickly?" Seriously, I was flabbergasted! Horrible business practices if that's how they treat their customers. First time there but will certainly be my last. Hard to believe an owner would act that way so I'm assuming it was an employee. read more

Unbelievably terrible experience with this postal center. I witnessed 3 people in front of me drop off packages for shipment. This old decrepit white haired man behind the counter appeared to be extremely slow and somewhat disoriented. He rude & short with customers and in every instance told the customers ahead of me and myself, that our packages weighed just slightly over the package weighs rounded number (ie: 2 lb packages were slightly over 2 lbs) and stiffing them for an extra charge for 3 lb weigh. I new he was pulling this on me because I weigh my packages before drop offs. To top it off, he told me that the only means of shipment was through FedX Overnight (over $100) and that UPS Ground ($18.50) was not an option. He would not give me a reason. I ended up taking my package to The Thunderbird & 7th St. UPS Store where they provided me with quick & courteous service using UPS Ground. I plan on reporting this opportunist to the BBB & Department of Weights & Measures. My advice is stay away from this unethical human being! read more

Old fashioned quality/friendly service. Nice to have Brian in our neighborhood.

The people who own this place treat you life family when I check my mail box we always talk about something. If you need a mailbox their prices are good and can't beat the customer service anywhere. read more
