When I walked in the place I knew I was going to get terrible service, and of course the thing at the front counter, did exceptionally beyond terrible!!! With a little side of crabby and weird. So, my take away all of his 5 star reviews were coming from people who he made money off of. If you're sending off a package and he has too put a little extra work on his part like scan a code and print the label, which they say he is able to do that. Went to mail something today and it was quick and painless. The owner (I believe) was helping me and he was very helpful, quick and there was no one in line which was nice. They sell wood boxes that are handcrafted as well for gifts and cards! He taped up my package for me and offered me lowest shipping cost. I go to the dance Shoppe nearby for my daughters dance classes so this is very convenient. read more

BUYER BEWARE: YOU ARE NOT CONSIDERED THE SENDER WHEN GOING THROUGH THIS LOCATIONWITH UPS. Im not sure of other carriers like FEDEX but UPS wouldn't allow me to submit a claim because Michael Mailboxez was considered the sender. I wish I was informed of this. I don't ship often so I was not aware. After already being frustrated my package did not make it to the receiver UPS informed me I could not process my own claim for the lost package. I had to go through Michaels Mailboxez to submit a claim through UPS as they are listed as the sender. To call and explain detail by detail all that was in MY package made me livid. I highly doubt any refund will come of this I'm so saddened my newborn nephew won't be able to get his first Christmas gift from his auntie that lives thousands of miles away. Other than that the customer service here is great and it's a neat little shop. Just wish I was educated more on the shipping of my package Update: I was told I would get a call back about the processed claim. I got no call back so I followed up today. Customer service was very nonchalant and careless. Didn't provide me any information or a claim number on the UPS package. Just got the ol' "sorry we got a lot of customers she"ll call you back" No care at all they got what they wanted out of me they could care less about my package being lost. I will no longer follow up. 88$ down the drain. SMH I try to support local businesses but this one.. never again read more

Whenever I need shipping or packing help in the northwest valley, I go to Michael's Mailboxez. Steve (owner) and Susan are always very helpful, honest and direct. They don't try to sell you services you don't need and tell you the easiest, cheapest, or safest way to send your package, money order, etc. As a bonus, when Steve is there, he always has Bailey with him. She's an Australian shepherd (I think) that is hands-down the smartest dog I have ever met! I love to stop in just to see Bailey! read more

My wife and I had two packages, 1 for USPS and 1 for UPS. Michael's Mailboxez is right around the corner and we thought it would be more convenient to one-stop shop. She went in and inquired if the prices for the USPS flat-rate boxes were the same and the person working informed her it was "a couple bucks more" to which she replied no problem. She returned home and asked what the normal price is and realized that their price was $6 more than what the USPS charge. Obviously, $6 is not a huge price difference dollar wise but it is a large difference percentage wise. If someone told me I was buying something for a couple hundred but when I went to pay it was $600, I would be equally mad. She called back up and the employee (owner?) she dealt with got on the phone and when asked why he said it was "a couple bucks more" if it were more than that, he replied that "we have to keep the doors open." He did offer to refund her $2 (not $6) but hardly worth the drive back there. I wouldn't want the lights to get shut off for losing out on our $2. My wife could have driven the literal 500 ft to the post office had the man been honest from the start or she could have valued her time more and used them for both. We have no problem paying a premium for convenience but we appreciate a straight-forward transaction. The attitude of the employee was the biggest turn-off and we will not use this store again. read more

I have been a customer since the day they opened 31 years ago. We were new in town and stopped in to ship a package back home. The owner of the store Steve Michael was there and helped us. We needed our items packaged and some of it was fragile. He reassured us that it would be packed safely. While we were there we enquired about a mailbox. Steve told us that we would get a physical street address and that way we would be able to receive packages from all carriers. We really liked that. Well, many years later we are still doing all of our business with them. We've used all of their services including notary, fax, business cards, shipping and so much more and we have always been happy with the customer service and the friendships we've made with them. Please do yourselves a favor and stop on by. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming that you'll feel like you've known them for years. By the way, our first package arrived safe and sound just like every other package we've sent. read more

the first thing the manager said to me was"this is going to cost a lot of money" I wanted to send a package fedX and he just started telling me not to while I was filling out forms for mailing. next they called fedX FOR A PRICE AND COULD NOT GET A PRICE FOR MY PACKAGE !!!! they complained to me about this like it was my fault.- I had to fill out another form ups and then wait in line again while they waited on several other customers -they were not at all helpful .especially the manager who acted like I was troubling him instead of giving him business.I know sending packages long distances is expensive but i don't like to be treated rudely because my service takes longer to process. Steve was so great to work with. I had an oil painting I needed to ship home to Virginia. He told me I could save about $15. if I went and got a box from another establishment close by, I don't remember where. He said I could get a box made for my painting, but he would have to fashion one. I really appreciated his giving me the information and the option. Time was more important to me though, and I opted to let him take care of the whole process. My painting arrived in perfect condition. I visit Arizona frequently. The next time I need to ship something home, I will definitely be going back to Michael's Mailboxz. read more
