Best scones I have ever have--period. Love Stanley Baking! I wish we knew about this place earlier in our trip rather than near the tail end. Their food is fresh and delicious and caters to all dietary needs. One thing that clearly stands out (outside of the scones) is the homemade jam. Stopped here for some pastries while in town. I would have gotten breakfast or lunch but we had already had breakfast by the time we arrived and had left town by lunch time. We got two cinnamon rolls, a chocolate croissant and a chai latte. Everything was delicious with the croissant being my favorite part. I like that they require masks inside but the outside area was a bit of a zoo for me and frustrating to get through a bunch of oblivious and rude people not wearing masks and not social distancing. I think I've been here before on work trips to Stanley but it's been too long that I don't recall. Prices are excellent for a town this far from anywhere and the service was friendly and efficient. Definitely planning to stop for breakfast the next time I'm in town- it looks incredible and they put sweet potatoes in their breakfast burritos! read more

This is the best food in Idaho! Fresh healthy ingredients...Homemade with love! The friendly staff and warm vibe is welcoming. The quinoa cakes and eggs were amazing. I love this place so much that I would love to volunteer just so I could learn how to make these amazing dishes at home. They have the best lattes in town and my husband specifically loves the "Milky Way." There is always a line but the food is more than worth the wait. They are only open till 2 pm. Wow. Thoroughly impressed by this place. Stellar reviews are well deserved. The setting is quaint and just as you'd imagine here in Stanley. Clean tables and welcoming smiles. The food is wow. I just randomly chose Jacks badge with oatmeal pancakes. Those pancakes.... I normally don't finish pancakes, these however, prompted this review. My wife had the French toast and while they're good, they're far from a highlight. Get the oatmeal pancakes ;) Overall, I've been to many breakfast places in Idaho... and I think this one ranks among the best. read more

Its the simple things that are hard! A perfectly cooked fried egg! YEP an EGG people, so simple yet its hard to do. Slightly crispy on the edge but not enough to not easily cut through. Soft buttery egg that melts in your mouth just cooked enough but not over cooked runny yoke but not raw. Consistent yoke cooking through the yoke, not hard on the outside and runny on in the middle of the yoke. PERFECT! The Pancakes and real maple syrup were pretty good too. My daughter had the Gobbler sandwich and I had a bike WOW that was really good as well. I want that next time. STOP HERE and EAT. read more

This seemed to be the place to get brunch in town, and we're glad we did! Not only did we wake up in scenic Stanley, but we also stuffed our faces with amazing food. We had the cinnamon roll, sourdough pancakes with eggs, veggie sausage, the multigrain toast (great bread!), quinoa cakes and hot chocolate and a cappuccino. The coffee was the only item that I didn't thoroughly enjoy (tasted a bit burned), but the rest of the items all hit the spot for the two of us. WOW, What a Fabulous little Cafe & bakery. They serve breakfast all day. Which was wonderful as we had a very late breakfast after our morning hike. The food was delicious, cooked to my liking, especially the eggs. The staff is great, very attentive even though they are extremely busy. I had the Classic Breakfast, not too much, not too little. The potatoes were scrumptious and crisp. The coffee is strong but that was okay, seemed to fit the area. Great bunch of people and they played great tunes that day. I have no idea why this place gets positive reviews. It's completely chaotic. The staff is extremely rude and they act like they can't stand to be there. With the exception of the guy who took our order, he was nice. The temperature is very hot inside. Food was expensive and so disappointing. I don't mind paying more for quality but this wasn't quality. I got the Turkey sandwich. There was barely any meat and it was very soggy. The yogurt with fresh fruit was good. My two year old and her cousin were playing with a curtain and the female employee yelled at my nephew and told him to stop and made him start crying. I was shocked! Maybe she could say it a little nicer? He was barely touching it. Maybe don't put a curtain right where guests sit at the table? They also don't have any soda if that's what you're looking for. And you have to ask for ice. But good luck getting anyones attention to bring you anything you need. I won't be back! read more

Can't Visit Stanley without a stop here. This little bakery has helped put Stanley on the map. Only open for breakfast and lunch and closed in the winter. They shut down mid October and open in the spring, so you gotta be quick. But so worth it. Try the ( real/authentic) sourdough pancakes and grass fed sausage. Loved this place. The location is impeccable and the food is incredible. We came up to kayak Red Fish Lake and were looking for a real hearty breakfast. THIS IS THE PLACE. They have a good amount of seating (indoor and outdoor) and plenty of coffee to start. Had the french toast because Bigwood Bread is what's up. Hashbrowns were excellent and crispy liked I asked for. Also I bought one of their goji berry energy bars and it was delicious! I want more Stanley (Baking) and Idaho in my life. Will be back as soon as I can! This place is unreal. We went here twice during our brief visit to the area. It is hard to understand how such good food is coming out of a town with 60 people. Exceeds the high expectations of a Bay Area Foodie. Had breakfast and lunch. Sandwiches were awesome. Very good and fresh breads and meats. Breakfast excellent too. Just OK. We had heard so much great stuff about the breakfast - but ours was pretty average. We had the Basque and it was just OK. Chorizo was like a rock. Scrambled eggs with black beans in the mix would have been far better if not mixed together. Omelette with onion and red peppers was slimy. Neither of us could eat the potatoes.Some weird flavor - MSG? Probably not because few places use that anymore. We were both sick when we got back to camp. And why is there a pile of tortilla chips on the plate? And the scone...hmmm. Very large but no points for size. It was blueberry and all the blueberries were on the outside. Overall, if you go there order something basic like fried eggs and bacon with toast. Accomodations for COVID seating and ordering were spot-on. read more

I think there are only a couple of options in Stanley for breakfast/brunch, but this place would be great up against any of the many places in my hometown. My husband and I ate there both mornings we were in Stanley and guiltily went again for a snack for our drive... which means we had pancakes and french toast with bacon and eggs for breakfast and then a blackberry scone and ham and cheese croissant for a snack that day. So bad, but so good. Specifics on the food - we liked both the sourdough and the oatmeal pancakes... they were very soft and melt in your mouth, but with crispy edges. The bacon and the sausage seemed like high quality. All the baked goods looked amazing and the two we tried were. The coffee was strong and tasted great. The first day we were there I was sad to see they served the pancakes with fake syrup, but on the second day I noticed you could pay extra for the real stuff, which of course I did. read more

The food was great but the service was not top notch. It's a small place that resembles a diner but there's no wait service. We walked in and there was no signage about what to do. After sitting at someone else's "claimed" table and asking questions we got the lowdown. After our meal (oatmeal pancake and potato mountain) I wanted to buy some treats to take home which requires waiting in a line. The young guy was not helpful; I asked him to pack the fruity scones for travel...the bag seeped with oil. Thankfully I had an extra plastic bag before packing them. They have all types of expensive schwag ($22 for a Stanley Baking hat) to purchase so they know tourists haunt the place; the local population is under 500 I believe. The cashier was very nice. I would say it was absolutely NOT worth the 50 minute wait. We got an iced golden milk latte (nothing special) a cinnamon bun, a savory croissant, and two cowboy cookies. With tip it was like $18-19 ish. The baked goods did not make up for the wait time, as much as I'd hoped they would. I honestly don't know what people see in the food here. It is average at best. I ordered the special of the day: Chorizo omlette. It was NOT good. But I ate it anyway and didn't complain because I was very hungry. No one in our group liked their meal much, so for taste I give this place a 1 out of 5 stars. That 1 star is for the homemade jam and people who work there. Do yourself a favor: buy some jam and go home and make your own meal. I think they are still in business due to lack of competition. After you order food at the cash register you get a playing card to take to your table and they bring you your food. Odd point: they don't bring you ANYTHING else. You are responsible for getting your own flatware, napkins, water (if you want it, which we did) from a counter by the cash register. Service was great. The girl who took our order was very nice and everyone who brought food or jam to our table was helpful and friendly. Food came out in a timely manner. We did not try any beverages/coffee here. maybe that is what keeps this business afloat? Or maybe it functions at a loss. read more
