My go to spot when in Ketchum visiting family, for sure. Whether the breakfast chocolate chip pancakes or the lunch burgers or pressed panini, I'm happy when I leave. Note that if it's peak breakfast or lunch time there will be a wait so order online if you can. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Some shaded areas if you're lucky. Dry blue berry muffins. No thanks. I'll make breakfast at the condo I rented for two weeks here in Ketchum instead before I head out for my biking, hiking and fishing excursions. Absolutely amazing on all fronts! Pros: delicious baked options, from fresh whole grain bread to muffins to cookies. Everything is baked in house, and throughout the day so sometimes you can even get a warm pastry. They're amazing Varied menu with options for everyone. As a vegetarian sometimes it's hard to find many options, but here they have multiple sandwiches, breakfasts, salads, and bowls that are either meatless or can easily be modified to make them plant-based Awesome coffee. They have a full coffee bar with drip, espresso, and iced drinks. I got a cup of their house brew, made by Dawson Taylor, and it was hearty and rich. They also offer free refills so you can take a nice ceramic mug and make yourself at home while you warm up Incredibly friendly service. All the servers were friendly, answered questions, gave suggestions, and were speedy. They also seemed to know a lot of locals which was sweet Lots of seating space, a big parking lot, and nice patio Prices are reasonable. Everything in Ketchum is expensive, but relative to other restaurants the prices were good I'll come back here again and again for a meal. This was delicious and a friendly place to hang out. I got a veggie sandwich and the whole grain bread was moist, they loaded in the veggies including avocado, and it was a huge serving. Their location in town is always a favorite when we're visiting Sun Valley. In past years it changed names (and menu) to Wildflour Cafe, but it was still delicious so all good. On our past trip to Sun Valley Wildflour seemed to be closed due to staffing issues (boo). It's not a trip to Sun Valley without a trip to Bigwood Bread Cafe so we made the trip a few min away to their bigger main location, Bigwood Bread Cafe. I'm not sure how I haven't made it here in my many trips to Sun Valley because it's even better and bigger than the town location. There's so much deliciousness to choose from on their menu- husband got a salad, one kid got the kids burrito, another kid got the BLT (he's still raving about it a week later) and I went with the avocado toast that's not actually on the menu. I"m glad I asked if they could make it since it was probably one of the best avocado toasts I've had. Everyone in the family was super pleased with their meals and ate really well and so we indulged in some salted chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Well worth it! We ate inside since it was a tad bit chilly, although they have an outdoor area too that my in-laws are fans of when they dine with their dog. Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and can't forget the friendly staff behind the counter...they just need more so they can open Wildflour's doors again! Really good casual breakfast and brunch place on the north side of Ketchum, with ample outdoor seating on their several patios. Be aware that the breakfast menu ends around 11:30, though that's not clearly marked on the menu. You order from a counter, and then food is brought to your table pretty quickly. I had the Spicy Pig sandwich, a pretty delicious twist on a ham and cheese, with crisp bacon and sliced jalapeños. Their shoestring fries are good, and all the baked goods looked tasty. read more

We stopped by bigwood bread for brunch (nice ring to it) to close out our sun valley trip. I'm glad we did. I love local places and it seems like bigwood is definitely loved by the locals. They serve their cookies in the grocery store etc. I got the build your own omelette and loaded that sucker up! Bread and jam was great and I added a side of the tomatillo salsa. Yummy! First time visiting, and the experience was awful. Took forever waiting in line to order and pay. We got a seat, and waited. After 45 minutes, I asked someone about our order. She said they were running about an hour on food delivery. No one told us that when we placed the order and paid. If they had, we would have walked out without eating. The person I asked got very snarky with me, said it was only 45 minutes since I ordered, it would be another 15 minutes. At that point, I asked to cancel the order, get a refund. She went back in the kitchen, and ironically, walked out with our order. The food was mediocre at best, nothing special. The server who brought the food was nasty, and basically threw the plates on the table at us without saying a word. We ate quickly, and left. Will never go back. $50. for two salads and went home and made a snack. Not sure why this place is ranked so high. The system for standing in line to order and pay, then wait at a table while the server walks around with your food, trying to find your number is a terrible system. I had the Baldy Power Bowl which was a bed of Tuscan kale with some quinoa (not too much, just a light touch), some fresh mozzarella, corn salsa, a little green & red pepper (also not too much as I don't like green pepper & didn't ever taste any of that) topped with 2 eggs and a basil pestoo. FantastIc blend of flavors & surprisingly delicious for a dish I was aiming to just have something healthy with. The woman who took my order was friendly & helpful. The place is still comfy & welcoming. I also had a hot tea, mountain berry, and it was delicious. Another plus is that their mugs keep your hot beverage warm even if you drink it slowly. This is the best place in town for a great lunch salad! There are lots of good lunch spots in town, and Bigwood is a staple especially for days that you don't want a super heavy lunch.
