Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing. When I paid for my order, the card reader showed that my $30.30 transaction had declined, so I paid in cash instead. Later, I discovered that the card charge had actually gone through. I went back the next day to get it resolved, but the barista said the manager wasn't there. I left my name and phone number and was told someone would contact me, but I never received a call. Since I was visiting from out of town, I had to leave the following day and wasn't able to return in person. Mistakes happen, and I understand technology can fail. My frustration is with the lack of follow up and customer service after I made the effort to resolve the issue. I hope they can improve how they handle situations like this for future customers. A quaint little cafe in the area! My husband and I stopped here for breakfast before heading to the Sawtooth national forest and had a nice meal. The servers were friendly and even let us sample their different iced chai drinks before placing our order. They have a diverse breakfast and lunch menu, so there's plenty to choose from. Found it! Found my new favorite spot (while on vacation) for a life changing chai blend - bhakti chai. Very ginger forward but sweet and spicy. I opted for the whipped cream on top, and it's a MUST! Homemade, full of flavor, and dense texture.l - YUM! Avocado toast is simple and sliced avocado, not mashed. Choice of sourdough or wheat, not buttered, just plain. Four pieces though! Took it home and added Sriracha to some slices, and garlic truffle oil and glazed balsamic to the rest. Service was great, personable and kind. Cafe was cute, and I really loved the art they had up of iconic celebrities. I'm excited to try a breakfast burrito, and am definitely coming back for the bhakti chai, ev.er.y.day. while I'm visiting! read more

Tired of ordering coffee and a pastry and every single time only getting the coffee until I have to go remind the staff to do their job and fulfill people's orders because no one wants to pay for something they're not even going to get. Or if you tell the staff, they'll make you wait even longer before they just grab the pastry you ordered to fix their mistake. I won't go here anymore and you lost a paying local customer because the service never gets better. It doesn't even get that busy, it shouldn't be so hard because the other coffee shops here take half the time and actually get you all your items you ordered. read more

Was in town for the week last week and asked my nephew where to get the best coffee in town and he said JAVA. Stopped in got a coffee and with an espresso shot. Wow, was great! First off, I love coffee & espresso. My favorite caffeinated drink to date is an Horchata Latte at a coffee shop in Los Angeles. BUT Java's Bowl of Soul might top it. It's so freaken good! My friend told me it's a mixture of espresso, coffee, and hot chocolate and alot of darn good spices. I said no to the whipped cream but don't do that!! Their homemade whipped cream is so thick & flavorful. It also doesn't melt in your drink right away. Great coffee and cozy- tight, little joint, lovely service....breakfast on the other hand was mediocre and high priced. Steamed scramble eggs don't cut it for me. Ham and cheese scramble only had a dusting of cheese. If I had known they didn't have a kitchen to do a full breakfast I would have stayed in Ketchum- My fault for not leaving after reading the menu. As somebody who constantly travels around US Western towns/cities, I always compare coffee shops, and this one is just average. My travels for work and play take me from Idaho to Colorado. Arizona to California, and beyond. I remember the best coffee shops well - those that offer fair prices, good coffee, good food, and maybe even diverse food options. This is all subjective stuff, I know, because we all like different things. Having said that, the espresso comes out with good créme, but the flavor is not that good. Not bad but just not that good. The food is average. Prices average. My all time favorite for both food and coffee is still Macy's in Flagstaff, AZ. read more

I live just a few blocks from Java, and I love it. Before quarantine I went to java here and there. During winter and fall,my friends and I would get Mexican hot cocoa. Sometimes before school I would get a blueberry muffin and a small coffee. Living in a small town, we do have our routines. I didn't have one until this summer. I had to babysit my brothers 3-4 days a week for four weeks. And everyday at 10:30,I would go to java and get a blended bowl, and a day-old. Now, 2 months later, when I go in, they know my name and already know my order. I brought my puppy. I can't leave my puppy,because he's so small and doesn't have a leash. They let me bring him in,and we're very kind to him. I let them hold him, and pet him. I will never forget how homey and loving this place is. They have been so safe during COVID as well. Let's just start by saying that I LOVE coffee. I am from Dallas, Tx, but in Hailey visiting my in-laws. The caffeine deprived headache was setting in when they recommended Java. I was quickly on my way. I was impressed from the moment I walked in. Great atmosphere and very friendly barista. I spotted the HUGE cookies, banana bread, and zucchini bread immediately. They all looked AMAZING. Haven't tried them yet, but I am in town for a few more days... there is still time. I ordered an iced sugar free vanilla caramel skinny latte. YUM. Starbucks has nothing on this place. My husband, Jared, ordered the bowl of soul. OMMMGEE. SO good. It was the prefect mixture of cinnamon and chocolate and out of this world yumminess. This is a beautiful little corner coffee and breakfast joint. The atmosphere is great and there are plenty of cozy tables inside and out. My only complaint is the portion size. They open early, service is friendly, great outdoor seating with a glorious view. That said the beans are bitter and the muffins leave something to be desired. They are an odd mix of overly sweet (icing) and bitter. Grab an egg sandwich or bagel instead and be prepared for a bit of a burnt taste to your coffee and you'll be fine. read more
