We drove up for the day from Twin Falls. We hiked Redfish TH and Bench Lake so by the end of the day we were tired and decided to take the Ferry back to the other side of the lake. That's when we came across Redfish Lake Lodge. It was truly spectacular. It's just an Oasis in the middle of the wilderness. So we got a room for two nights. They have it all. Great restaurant, bar, outdoor grill area with ice cream and fast food, general store, pristine beach with all kinds of rentals. (kayaks peddleboats SUPs motor boats bikes etc.). They even had a band the second night we were there. The scenery is just incredible with the Sawtooth Mtns in the background. And all the people who work there are wonderful. And the most incredible hikes are literally at ur doorstep. The ferry is fabulous and they really go out of their way to transport you. And the clientele are all clean cut, classy outdoor people. No one was smoking weed or anything or drinking excessively. GO! THIS PLACE IS HEAVEN ON EARTH! read more

We were quite disappointed in the food at Limbert's. Dinner took an hour and the prime rib was tough and overcooked. The next morning we decided to give it another go, since we were staying there in the cabins. Sadly, breakfast was equally disappointing. We ate at other wonderful restaurants in Stanley for the remainder of our stay. We recommend avoiding Limbert's altogether. read more

Wow! We celebrated our 46th Wedding Anniversary by coming to Limbert's for dinner. We couldn't have been more pleased. The atmosphere was incredible, the service from the wait staff (Bailey sp?) and keeping our water glasses full was impeccable and timely. The food was outstanding. We had the Halibut special and Prime Rib! For dessert Bailey indicated the Rhubarb Cake was the Chef's Mom's recipe... and it was very scrumptious! Friends told us that Limbert's has poor food and despite that warning, we went anyway and found the food to be very unsatisfactory. No need for a fancy restaurant, just keep it simple! E.g., Hamburgers (+ vegie burgers), Fish and Chips, Pizza, Burritos, Salads, Ice Cream, Beer, Wine. Combine Limbert's, Rustic Lounge and Lakeside Grill menus--same food, just table service or line up at the beach shack counter. The view and the wilderness are the best amenities! read more

Limbert's honestly probably deserves a better or worse rating depending on your viewpoint. In context, this place in a remote area of Idaho, it probably difficult to find anyone to work there and get food delivered. The view from the restaurant is unparalleled in Idaho, it's gorgeous and the building is a classic Pacific Northwest lodge. The food however varies drastically by the hour. Eating here is a roll of the dice if you are getting a wonderful meal or a McDonald's level of presentation. A lot of the plates are nonsensical and go against the traditional preparations in a manner that does not complement the dish. Such as a sunny side egg on top of a fried brussel sprouts appetizer or un-breaded calamari with fried lemon slices or a croque madame served in a pool of sauce with Texas toast thick bread. Overall though the food is good and honestly this is pretty much your only option within 10 or so miles. It's just frustrating that as a chef I can say few simple tweaks is all this place needs to be fabulous. read more

We highly recommend Limbert's for anyone looking for a great breakfast or a nice dinner while at redfish lake. Dinner might be a bit pricier than you first expect, but the dishes are great. We recently went here on a trip to redfish lodge and hiking in the area. We were really looking forward to our dinner after a long day of hiking. The lodge and restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the staff is friendly. We started out with a mushroom torte, which was absolutely delicious! We next shared a wedge salad. The salad was small for a wedge and and there wasn't enough dressing on it to even drizzle one part of the wedge with dressing. There was no blue cheese anywhere on the wedge salad and It lacked flavor. We asked for more dressing. We then moved on to the Thai Curry Pork. Let me start by saying that the pork was flavourful and delicious@ The sauce was nothing like a curry and very I'm very limited in the dish. It tasted like chili sauce mixed with some vinegar maybe? Like no curry I've ever tasted. It was edible and we decided not to send it back. On to dessert. We ordered a coconut cake with sorbet. When it arrived we could tell it it had been sitting for a while because the sorbet was melting off the plate.. The cake was like no coconut cake I've ever seen. It was about a quarter inch thick square square and tasted like cake mix. This was so disappointing that we had to send it back. When I think coconut cake I think I have a fluffy piece of cake with coconut pieces in the frosting or something similar. The sorbet tasted like alcohol-as best I can describe a bitter taste. This restaurant is not inexpensive ,of course being in a lodge and was disappointing. The rest of our experience at the lodge was amazing. Limberts at Redfish Lake Lodge was excellent! The ambiance is rustic and perfect for a lodge on a magnificent lake in Idaho. Service was prompt and pleasant. Our server was Kathy. She was excellent. Many of the people working at Redfish are seasonal so it is fun to chat with them. I had Stealhead trout. It was excellent! The others in my party had steak. We had a cast iron cornbread as an appetizer. The have a robust wine list as well. After dinner we sat on the grass listening to music! Highly recommend! read more

I love dining in older lodge restaurants and this one was no exception! The fireplace added to the ambiance and the view of the lake was great! We had lunch here as well as dinner that evening. There is not a lot of choices on the menu. It felt restricting at lunch as most of the sandwich choices were fried. The hamburger was good but the fries which were just ok. My husband said the fish and chips meal was unremarkable. Dinner was much better. I had the roasted chicken. Delicious! My husband gave good marks to the trout! I have been coming here for a few years and it is very inconsistent. I have had five star experiences and 2.5 star experiences. Unfortunately it wasn't a good one this time. So much salt on my food that it was hard to find flavor. Everyone seems exhausted and overworked. It is the tail end of the season so I imagine they are. Had dinner & breakfast here. Dinner was great. Had some of the best calimari ever! It wasn't that breaded, frozen Costco type that requires little effort. It was like real squid. Had a chef's special something which was pretty good, too. Breakfast was not too impressive though. Their omelette looked kind of artificial with chopped ham, like it was prepped early-morning. We were so disappointed in our meal and experience at Limbert's. The food was bland (the steelhead), cold (the gnocchi) and overpriced-$38 and $35 for those two dishes. The service wasn't good either despite an almost empty restaurant- only 3 tables with the same number of servers. The table next to us was getting great service, which only highlighted our deprivation. We will continue to patronize the bar and gazebo at Redfish but this will be the last time to eat in their dining room. read more

Limbert's, you just gained yourself a lifelong follower. This first time guest here, had an amazing dinner experience! I was so impressed with the service, quality of food, and portions! I left feeling spoiled and proud, with a belly full of delicious food. I highly recommend treating yourself when coming here. We had the cornbread and tacos for an appetizer- both equally amazing! For dinner we had the prime rib dinner and pan seared salmon. The prime rib was incredible and perfectly cooked! We each had a couple of tasty local beers to wash it all down with, highly recommend trying the Grand Teton Juicy IPA. We made reservations well in advance prior to coming and I truly think that's the way to go because this place fills up quick! During your stay, you're gifted with beautiful views of Redfish Lake. I really enjoyed the interior and the feel of stepping back in time to cowboy country. Limbert's is attached to the lodge and I encourage you to roam the area after treating yourselves! read more

What a great find in Stanley! I must say, it's a fine dining place in the middle of the mountains. Staff were accomodating and hospitable. There is indeed a waiting time for the food but the view (lake and mountain) is enjoyable and calming to watch. The food is delicious food reasonable. read more
