There is no more beautiful location than Limbert's rustic log cabin lodge at Redfish Lake, it's a magical place. Many times, a beautiful location means mediocre food, but Limbert's has outstanding food at a very good price. Redfish Lake is a magnificent setting for a lodge and restaurant. The dining room is a fine example of log cabin lodge. This was a popular style from the early 20th century and common in places like upstate NY, Lake Tahoe and many spots in the Western US. It's a very comfortable and attractive room, with views of the lake and Sawtooth mountains. Try to arrive early for the best tables. I started with the cauliflower soup, which was excellent and then had the kobe burger, which was really delicious and a bargain at only $14. I highly recommend it. The steaks and fish also looked very good, the menu is very fairly priced. The friendly and caring staff worked hard to provide gluten free accommodation for my wife. We are now hoping to return again next year, it's such a magical place. read more

This was a unexpected pleasure! The reviews are great but of course they are as the location is simply perfect. Rustic beauty on one of the most amazing lakes found, period. Our server "Gabrielle" started the evening. Extremely up beat and friendly and saw to every need. We both had their Prime rib. I added a Wedge salad and the better half stuck with the entrée which came with potatoes and asparagus that was fresh and cooked perfect. Now I eat a ton of meat at some of the best spots in the country. Not bragging but I do. If you have seen my reviews you know it. I honestly did not have high expectations for this meal. My wife and I spent Labor Day Weekend in Sun Valley and we decided to make the scenic drive to Red Fish Lake. An amazing place for children (fyi). After a long walk we took our appetite to Limberts - an old log cabin built by Mr. Limbert himself. It's rustic, cowboy decor was fitting and inviting. The service was down home friendly and the food...it took comfort food to a level of its altitude! I put any sort of caloric discipline to the wayside and chowed on the Chicken Biscuit Sandwich. Massive homemade biscuits with juicy fried chicken...it was worth the gazillion calories!!! If you want to enjoy a beautiful lake setting with the Sawtooth Mountains in the background and enjoy comfort food to the highest degree then you gotta check out Limberts:)! read more

We drove up for the day from Twin Falls. We hiked Redfish TH and Bench Lake so by the end of the day we were tired and decided to take the Ferry back to the other side of the lake. That's when we came across Redfish Lake Lodge. It was truly spectacular. It's just an Oasis in the middle of the wilderness. So we got a room for two nights. They have it all. Great restaurant, bar, outdoor grill area with ice cream and fast food, general store, pristine beach with all kinds of rentals. (kayaks peddleboats SUPs motor boats bikes etc.). They even had a band the second night we were there. The scenery is just incredible with the Sawtooth Mtns in the background. And all the people who work there are wonderful. And the most incredible hikes are literally at ur doorstep. The ferry is fabulous and they really go out of their way to transport you. And the clientele are all clean cut, classy outdoor people. No one was smoking weed or anything or drinking excessively. GO! THIS PLACE IS HEAVEN ON EARTH! read more

Last nights dinner was amazing! Skyler and a super attentive crew served us with excellence and enthusiasm. It was opening day at Redfish Lodge and the team had worked hard to transform it from winter to summer. We started with appetizers (I think we ordered them all x2) and ended with steaks, prime rib, gnocchi, burgers and salads. It was all perfectly prepared and served hot! Stopped in for an early dinner after a day's hike in the Sawtooths. Nice place, with the expected old-timey mountain lodge decor (ponderous wooden beams, etc.). No masks on the staff -- most of Idaho is still in denial (whilst dying) regarding COVID-19. Staff seated guests all together at tables in one area of the restaurant, rather than spacing us out. I hope that the kitchen staff were more aware of germs than the seating staff. There's a pandemic on, y'all! Two of us ordered the steelhead and two the gnocchi. Both dishes delicious, albeit smaller portions than we hungry hikers would have appreciated. Should have just ordered a burger with which to refuel ourselves. Or a side of fries, but that's on us. I ordered the wagyu steak. My wife ordered the chicken. We decided to share our meals. I gave her a strip of my steak, she shared a slice of her chicken. I took a bit of my steak with potatoes and it was like warm, not hot at all. I thought that was odd. I took a bit of my wife's chicken and it was hot like I would expect. Took another bite of my steak, and yet again just barely warm. The waitress comes over and asks how everything is and I was hesitant to complain, but I did say that the steak seemed just barely warm like the meal was prepared first and then my wife's. The waitress' reply was "I can't take it back now that you've eaten half of it." I just laughed. My wife asked if we could just heat it up in the microwave or something. The waitress was put out and said no. Probably the rudest waitress I've ever experienced. Didn't offer to solve the problem somehow. So, my cold steak was ok....could have been amazing, but it wasn't. Goes along with the last time I was here several years ago. read more

Paying customers should be able to express so that changes can be made. Steak was so thin. Especially for the price. The prime rib was perfectly cooked, the corn chowder was delicious, the melon and crispy prosciutto salad was fresh and really tasty.
