While we knew this restaurant would be a little on the pricey side, it was the best meal we had in Idaho, not just Stanley. There were lots of options and the first thing we started with was a loaf of the sourdough bread. When we asked how large it would be the waiter responded "the size of a small baby" lol. He wasn't entirely wrong either, it was a pretty good size. It was so good paired with the whipped feta and pimento cheese. I am not normally a huge pimento fan, but this was really good. Next we had one of the salads, but it wasn't the star of the show, still tasty though. The pierogis were quite good and had a good consistency. We did make friends with the table next to us who ordered almost 1 of everything on the menu and raved about even the stuff we did not try so it seemed like you couldn't go wrong no matter what you order. read more

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner here at the Stanley Supper Club. The lamb terrine was flavorful but it wasn't too over the top lamb-tasting for folks who may not have tried lamb, or it's not their fave protein. Hubby liked the smoked whitefish and said he would have it again. The house-made and baked sourdough was delish and we took a half loaf home to enjoy tomorrow. The sausage charcuterie board was great. The highlight for us was the house-made bacon which had a great spiciness. The bratwurst was really good paired with the house mustard, and the kielbasa was good as well, although not our fave. We just preferred the brat and bacon. We shared the fried chicken for two and it didn't disappoint. The coating was crunchy and well-seasoned. It did fall off, but if you held tightly, you could get a great bite of both the breading and the moist chicken beneath. They served three sauces with it which were all complimentary and offered a choice for everyone. The mashed potatoes were reminiscent of those we've had at a few fine dining establishments such as Joel Robuchon, (although these fell short of that, they were quite tasty and deserved of their own accolades). The shaved broccoli salad was the hit of the meal. It delivered on all taste elements. The ambiance reminded us of a cozy Bavarian restaurant. There was lots of wood, cozy tables and chalet-style decor. All that was missing may be a cheese fondue. I wouldn't be surprised if they offered that in the winter season. The prices were very reasonable and could fit almost any dining budget depending upon the menu selection. A rare find anywhere, but especially in such a small town. Don't miss this special place if you're in Stanley or the surrounding area. It's worth a visit just to grab a loaf of bread for your trail sandwiches. read more

What a fun date night this restaurant provided for my husband and me during our stay in Redfish! We discovered it on Yelp and were excited to try it. Despite not having a reservation, we walked in, and the hostess was incredibly kind to accommodate us. I didn't think we'd get a table! The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team: he's the chef, and she's the pastry chef, creating fresh, unique desserts daily. Our dessert was phenomenal. I know others weren't as lucky. Lucky because the food was amazing. The staff were kind in the establishment felt so curated and intentional, beautiful ambience. We came in here, hungry, and left very satisfied. Between my boyfriend and myself, we ordered the fried chicken for two of which comes with a quarter of sourdough slices and a salad in addition to the chicken and sides. We had the blackberry salad and it was absolutely delicious. The fruit was so fresh, which I really appreciated after a surprisingly hot day. The sourdough certainly better than my own loaf. I say this humbly because I thought me and my starter were the best. We also split a daily pasta. I really appreciate the different sizing options that allows to try more while not breaking the bank. What I think was a stand out was the house made Earl Grey tea and blackberry iced tea. I miss it so much. It was absolutely delicious and I really wanted to take it to go cup. Would recommend everyone sample it. For the fried chicken, I appreciated the diversification of dipping sauces. Each one was so unique and felt like a completely different experience. Although I would say we progressively got messier and messier as we eat the rest of the chicken mostly because the establishment was so nice we didn't want to get too messy. Since we sat at the bar, they had cakes on display for dessert and it was so tempting not to just eat it right there. However, we were inspired to grab a slice of each so we can enjoy it and watch sunset over the sawtooth. My fiancé booked Valentines Day dinner for us while we were staying in Stanley. The reviews had been great, so we were expecting a culinary experience, however, it definitely did not live up to those expectations. I am a vegetarian, due to health reasons, and we were told that they could accommodate dietary needs. I have been to many places that substitute items and create unique and tasty dishes, but the Supper Club was definitely not one of them. Our first dish was less than stellar. The Semolina & Sesame Bread was tasty, however, there were areas that were burnt. Along with the bread we were given a turnip mash, and instead of Brandade, a cold, limp, green vinegary vegetable dish, which I am not sure what it consisted of. It was so unpalatable that my fiancé and I could barely eat two mouthfuls each. The second course consisted of Twice Baked Sweet Potatoes and they were burnt. When I mentioned it to the server, she only stated, "Oh, yes, they were cooked twice" without even addressing the black areas clearly visible around the entire edges. We could not eat it. The third and fourth courses were so unpalatable, that we asked for boxes to take with us, figuring that we could possibly add something at home to make them taste better. The Spicy Carrots were not spicy and were cold. The Oyster Mushrooms were nothing more than a clump of mushrooms with no additional sauce or dressing. My fiancé ended up with a plain Pork Rib Cap, which he stated was "Okay" and definitely nothing special, while I ended up with a thick cut pastry "sandwich" with dried up beets inside. One bite and it went in the box, to perhaps repurpose as a sandwich or something else (It did not as we ended up throwing all of the food out.) The measure of a restaurant is the ability to time the cooking and serving of dishes so that the entree or appetizer is appropriately cooked and heated. Not one of the items was served to us warm as it possibly was intended to be, so we are not sure if it was supposed to a warm dinner or an entire cold selection like we were served. The only item on the entire menu that was good was the Pavlova. We received one to share between us. I am not inclined to return to this restaurant. The hype of the reviews over the "Best Fried Chicken" is what had us sold, but the actual dinner that was served to us was below underwhelming. Our check was $75 each, a total of $185 with a drink each, and most of the food was left on our plate or taken home and later thrown out. I would definitely not recommend a fixed course meal at this restaurant. read more

This place is amazing. My boyfriend and I went here two nights in a row when we were in Stanley. In the summer make sure to make a reservation, we got there 30 minutes before the restaurant even opened both times in order to secure a walk-in spot. There are people lined up waiting at the door to get in before they open. The fried chicken is a must, both salads they had on the menu were great, and the bread is amazing as well! WOW, WOW, WOW. What a delight! Had a STUPENDOUS meal for our anniversary dinner that rivals anyplace in the US! Seriously, the folks at Stanley Supper Club are providing a top notch dining experience in a relaxed setting in the Sawtooths. We made a reservation easily online via their website for our 44th anniversary dinner. Rayme and Hallie and took wonderful care of us as we kicked things off with a glass of wine and some of that delicious sourdough bread. Followed up with the strawberry fig salad which is one of the freshest and tastiest salads we have ever had in our 67 plus years! Entrees included the special carrot ravioli and the leg of lamb both of which were EXQUISITE in their own rights and full of wonderful flavors!!!!! And all of this provided for in Stanley Idaho. Yes, you should and could drive from Ketchum, Boise, Twin Falls or anywhere else within a 2 hour or more drive and not be disappointed. This restaurant ranks up there with the best and is another terrific dining option in little old Stanley Idaho. One of the best meals I've ever had. A family we met while hiking in the Sawtooth Wilderness told us that we shouldn't miss coming here. Spot on. Fried chicken was out of this world. Amazing spicy broccoli salad, sourdough bread was the best we've ever had. A mint (REAL mint) ice cream sandwich was like no other. Service was excellent and the owners are super humble and cool. We had the fried chicken dinner for two, with some tasty shaved broccoli salad, corn cakes, pimento cheese, and half a sourdough to get us started. Portions were huge, if you ask me and everything was super filling! We were blown away by the size and portions of the fried chicken dinner and to be honest I thought the breading was so well seasoned that the sauces accompanying the chicken weren't even needed! I felt like I was coming home to grandmas house and left feeling well-nourished and cared for, just like grandmas do. The interior feels cozy, warm, and inviting. When we walked in we were seated and weren't even approached by the wait staff for about 10 minutes. Finally the waitress came up to us and asked us what we wanted to order and I asked her what the specials were and what the pasta was and she said it didn't matter because they already sold out. We were just curious so we asked what it was and she acted very put out telling us what the special was. Then she said she'd give us some time to check the menu which we already had plenty of time and we asked if we could start with a couple of orders of sourdough bread she said she would take our order all at once and walked away. We were so distraught by the lack of service and professionalism that we literally picked up and walked out of the restaurant. I hope she's just having a bad night but it was very off putting. First time at this Restaurant. Had heard how fabulous the food is. Husband and wife owned business. It is truly worthy of its 5 stars and I would give them more if I could. 3 of us had the Pork Steak and OMG, have never had anything so delicious. We also had an order of the Pasta special. I know it sounds crazy, but this might be the best meal I've ever had. We got the fried chicken meal for 2 with extra sourdough bread and cake. And I'm dead serious, every single thing we had was like the best I've had of that item anywhere. Call way ahead and don't expect a call back. The only way to make a reservation is via phone vs the web like modern establishments. They DO NOT answer the phone and DO NOT check their voice mail. I arrived hoping to get a seat and was told they did not get my reservation. That sucked, but what really sucked was the way they made me feel. Like I was lying about leaving a message. They said the rechecked the messages while I was five feet in front of them. They never once checked a phone. Pompous and arrogant. Well we decided to return to support this fine establishment this summer on our annual Stanley vacation (52 years). We anticipated and planned to visit in person for some great food on their patio days in advance. Though we were disappointed the pot roast was not available, but were very satisfied with the creative and fresh items on the menu. We ordered corn pancake, fried chicken, and salads. All were fantastic. Our host quickly greeted us and kindly accommodated 3 of us and our dog on the edge of the patio and asked we keep our dog on beyond the fence of the patio, which we were happy to do. Our host without asking was kind enough to bring water for our dog as well. We loved the food and the overall experience.
