    Buffalo chicken wings
    Jamie S.

Hubby had a glass of the pinot gris and I had their signature drink, the River's Edge Sour, to start along with the buffalo-style chicken wings that were perfectly cooked and juicy while being crunchy on the outside. I had the steak frites and the steak was cooked perfectly medium rare to my request. Hubby had the bison steak and it was also cooked to medium rare perfection. The service was exceptional and much appreciated when our server told some inattentive parents their children were running around amok and needed to be reined in. He did so professionally and we saw that others were relieved how he had handled the situation. Other than the rowdy children (who were handled appropriately), the ambiance was good.

Classic small town bar/ restaurant. Rustic, cabin decor. You got you taxidermy on the walls, an old pool table, and just old school country vibes. There's two big rooms, one is the main dining area with many tables, the other room being the bar with more tables and a pool/ foosball table. We were more in the party mood, so we hung out on the bar side. We ordered some drinks and some of us also ordered dinner. I went for the vegetarian killer pasta. It was actually super flavorful and delicious. Exactly what I needed to balance out our adult beverages. It also happened to be karaoke night who can happened to be a fun surprise! There wasn't a crazy amount of people inside, but it was a great vibe and fun group of people regardless. The bartender was nice and the server would check in on us from time to time. Collectively it was a super fun experience and the drinks and food were pretty good and cheap on top of it! Definitely worth stopping in if you're looking for a good time.

    Pot roast sandwich French Dip

Top notch food and operation. A very nice place a long way from the major population centers. We loved the draft local Cider. We both were completely full and pleased with our choices of the pot roast French Dip sandwich and the western bacon cheeseburger. The fries were great. The service was perfect. Clean bathrooms and well organized dining area. We were sure glad to enjoy this restaurant almost 4 hours away from home.

Great onion rings that were substantial and also well cooked. Tough combination to pull off

Superb, simple yet hearty menu. Excellent execution. Perfect for a small town on the wide open range to tuck in and chow down. Onion rings are substantial and well cooked. The burger was super juicy and seasoned well. Great chili with elk meat. Just satisfying on every level. Would definitely stop in every time even remotely in the area. Worth a pretty long detour.

    Prime Rib

The Mountain Village always kills it! Started with the Bang Bang Shrimp tonight followed by the amazing Prime Rib. Great flavor! Not your normal fatty mess, theirs is lean and delish, cooked perfect with an elevated side of parsnips and carrots with mashed potatoes and gravy plus a side of Au Jeux and creamy horseradish. Paired with a Cesar salad that was so simply perfect. Great meal fallowed by so much fun square dancing!

We made a quick stop for some breakfast before we went fishing. The interior was super cozy and homey inside. It was super cold outside, and I loved that they had a fire going. I ordered the waffle meal and my husband ordered the chicken fried steak. My waffle was delicious. I ordered the special maple syrup with it, and it tasted amazing. I got so full from the waffle alone, so I shared my bacon and eggs. My husband said his food was really good as well. The service was great too. The only thing I wish is that they had a few more options, like perhaps french toast. This place is still a super great place to stop and enjoy some food.

Super good food!! I ate everything!! My coworker loved the food too we both liked the environment and the food was even better! The waiters were courteous and polite Traveling through, I thought it's better than most places around here Definitely coming back

First of all, the food here is all right. The tots were excellent, but that's the best I can offer in my review. I don't normally write reviews like this, but we definitely felt racially targeted during our visit - another group came in well after we ordered, and they were served their food long before we were. The restaurant was empty when we came in, mind you. They kept staring at us the whole time. The server was very brusque and rude when answering questions, but sang a different tune when she saw how well we tip. Really disheartening experience.

    Western burger, add jalapeños

Tucked away in Stanley. Awesome spot to stop if you're in the area. Came by on a weekday afternoon with 2 buddies after a morning of unsuccessful hunting. Fun ambiance inside, free wifi login on wood signs throughout the inside in case you don't have mobile reception. Super friendly waitress who gave us useful and honest recommendations and put up with one of my friend's constant questions. Western burger hit the spot. Beefy, good amount of bacon. We added jalapeños which are grilled for a smoky kick. Fries are solid. Nachos were a HUGE plate. Got it with juicy grilled chicken. I liked that it had melted cheddar AND gooey nacho cheese. Lime crema added a good tart balance, and the salsa verde and guac were in cups on the side so nothing got too soggy. Whole plate was nicely toasted in the broiler and chips were thin and crispy. Only downside/caveat is that it IS pricey, but hey I'm an expensive-city girl and the prices didn't faze me. Plus the quality was top notch, service was great, place was fun, and it's expensive to get supplies that far out. Bathrooms were clean and bright. View of the mountains outside the window is gorgeous. Hope to come back for another visit soon.

Both of them are chefs, so I'm very intentional about choosing restaurants for occasions like this. Based on everything we had read, we expected an exceptional experience. The smoked bread arrived first. It was interesting -- subtly smoky and intriguing -- and it made us curious about what would follow, though slightly cautious about how heavily smoke might feature in the meal. Unfortunately, when the Brussels sprouts were served, our excitement quickly faded. The first bite was overwhelmingly smoky to the point that it tasted like an ashtray. They were simply inedible. We politely shared this feedback with the manager, whose response was surprising: "Yes, a couple people have mentioned that tonight." That was the extent of it. There was no offer to replace the dish, remove it from the bill, or extend any gesture of hospitality. At this price point, I expect both culinary excellence and attentive service. The remainder of the meal was underwhelming and did little to recover the experience. We were seated next to the chef's counter and noticed that the owner/chef kept her back to the guests the entire evening, interacting only to hand over plates. For a restaurant that positions itself as elevated and experiential, the lack of warmth was striking. Overall, the evening felt cold -- both in hospitality and in execution. Sadly, it did not live up to the reputation. There are many wonderful, welcoming restaurants in Ketchum that deliver both excellent food and genuine hospitality. I would recommend exploring those instead.

People can have a bad day, and I never want to cast negative light on a small business, but this experience warrants a review. I ran into the store quickly with my 3 year old for some raw products and side dishes for dinner ...a super quick $100. When I got home 15 min later, I realized one of the items I had been carrying around the store was not in my bag. Since I had gone there particularly for that item, and specifically remember taking it out of the refrigerator when I first got there, I wanted to call and make sure they could put it aside for me if I had been charged for it OR that I hadn't accidentally left it out in the store not refrigerated and unnoticed. Since I wasn't provided with a receipt, I didn't know, but I did know that I took it out of the refrigerator and placed a few things on another table near the register as to not block anyone while still grabbing and dashing! Charged or not, I felt I had left it out somewhere and wanted to make sure it got back to refrigeration and didn't go to waste! You'd think this would be a simple conversation with the store owner. So I called the store to let them know. I tried to explain that I'd gone up to the counter with raw creamer, but it didn't make its way into the bag, so I wasn't sure if I was charged for it or not but it should be somewhere around the cash register area regardless! The owner curtly interjected while I was mid sentence that she did not charge me for creamer. I tried to explain again that I had taken it out of the refrigerator and she might want to check on the table with the soup containers bc I had placed things there before getting to the register. I wasn't trying to argue that I had paid for it. Her response was, "we did not charge you for creamer. Do you understand that??" I am not exaggerating, she said it just like this! To a customer!! Very shocked at her response and tone, thinking there must be some huge miscommunication, I tried explaining again that I was positive I had left it in the store, out of the fridge, regardless of being charged. And told her where I thought she should l check. I thought for sure this would resolve the conversation and it could end on a good note. I was not being confrontational at all b/c there was nothing to argue about! She then accosted me again and told me I did not "get charged for creamer" and then HUNG up on me!! The OWNER!! Acted like this!!! Over a customer trying to tell her she left the creamer out! Such a disappointment as the store was a great resource for me. I absolutely love supporting small businesses and local farmers, but can improvise elsewhere after this experience.

All the food is amazing - the Basque meatballs is a bit on the saltier side but the Sheepherder's bread is so crispy and buttery! Among the pintxos, I loved the seafood and chorizo gratin the most, but all are delicious. The braised lamb and potatoes are good - the lamb is juicy while the potatoes were flavorful and slightly crispy.
