Seems like this is the spot when you can't get a table elsewhere. Small, but solid bar. Manager was super awesome when I went. I just had a decaf coffee at the bar, no hassle. They got a tv for sports in the bar. Dining room was pretty big. I got a wedge salad the second time. They have Caesar salads for $15 as of 12/25. Food was not as I expected it. The NY steak was ordered was medium well done and took a bit to arrived. When it finally deliver to my table, I cut a small piece and ate it. The steak was cold and informed the waiter that my steak was cold and he took it back and about five minutes later, he brought me a steak at the right temperature. I was very excited about ordering dessert. I looked online and noticed a photo of cheesecake with ice cream and strawberry sauce and told the waiter that I wanted to have that but he responded that they no longer have that. I then ordered dessert. As I was eating my one scoop of vanilla ice cream and vanilla covered with hard chocolate, I felt something thing and weird in my mouth. When I opened my mouth and pull it out, it was a long blonde hair! A freaking long hair in my dessert plate that reached my mouth. I showed everyone in my group what I had just discovered and all of them looked at it in disgust! I right away called our waiter and showed him the long blonde hair that was in my dessert and entered my mouth. A few minutes later, another lady came up with a dessert replacement and I told her that I no longer desired dessert and that I was disgusted and disappointed to have had a freaking long hair in my dessert and worse...in my MOUTH! I will never come back to this place and I understand things happens but to have my NY steak delivered cold and even worse, to find a long hair in my mouth when eating a dessert...is beyond low or poor service! I would inspect your food before eating it! Hope no one else experience what we did tonight. Made reservations the night before when we stopped in on a Friday night without reservations. Staff was friendly. Ordered the Mixed Green Salad and one of the Chef special swordfish. The chef specials change daily. When we read the menu the night before, we realized one of the dishes that caught our eye was not on there but a different and just as delicious sounding entree was available instead. Fabulous spot for great food, great drinks and great dessert. The staff is all beyond friendly and it is just an all around great venue. Among our group we had the halibut, meatloaf and sausage pasta. Every single meal was delicious. We finished off with way too many desserts which you can see in the pics. Eliza was our server. She was OUTSTANDING. She didn't miss on one recommendation, was funny, efficient and lovely. The young hostess was lovely, didn't miss a beat when we said we didn't have a reservation -"we have one table left outside" she said, after she asked where we would like to dine. Perfection in customer service! The food was FABULOUS. We had: the Bibb lettuce salad /perfectly crisp arrayed to easily share with the most lively dressing (rosemary orange vinaigrette) the bits of bacon and gorgonzola were perfection. The Idaho trout-pink and beautiful with a citrus glaze served with horseradish mashed potatoes, perfectly cooked broccoli and squash. The "lemon noodles"-lemon fettuccine made in house with pink shrimp and a light cream sauce. We picked these dishes to share and to accompany each other and they were perfect. I would be remiss if i didn't mention the wines, which were very good by the glass! We had a Viogner and a Pinot Noir, both equally delicious. Lastly, the lemon goat cheese cheesecake-oh my. Just order it! It's kind of a cross between cheesecake and a torte and totally delectable. You will never have another like it. Fourth or fifth time to Ketchum Grill. Previous times have been wonderful. This time Feb 24 2025, however, was a disappointment. The service was good as always, and the food wonderful. BUT, we waited nearly an hour for our order. We watched other guest after us be seated, order food, receive food, finish it, order dessert, finish and pay their bill before we received our order. We only saw action after my spouse ask why our order was delayed. The explanation was panko crusted trout takes longer to prepare. We were comped for one order plus a glass of wine. But, too late, we lost our appetite for dessert and just wanted to leave after spending two hours at the restaurant, of which half was waiting for food. Kind of ruined our night. read more

We love the Ketchum Grill. My husband and I have been dinning here for 15 years. We have a condo in town so we spend a few months each year here. We have tried all the restaurants in town and this is consistently one of our favorites and under reviewed. The historic cottage is lovely whether you dine inside in the winter or on the patio in the summer. The food is exceptional and a great value for a town like Sun Valley. There's a reason the locals dine here and keep coming back. It's a pleasure to dine somewhere with a staff you recognize and they greet you and tell you it's nice to see you again. Order the bread, appetizer, entree and leave room for dessert. They have some great value wines that won't shock your wallet. Highly recommend! read more

As a frequent visitor of Sun Valley, I had never tried Ketchum Grill before and i'm sad to say I will not be returning. Overall the vibes inside the restaurant are pretty good. We had a nice hostess and our waitress was nice as well. However, after reading the menu it was just a bit dated. But, still hopeful I went ahead and ordered the duck and my dad ordered the lamb shank. Once the food arrived, it was pretty obvious both of our entrees were completely over cooked. My wild rice was crunchy and my dad only had one carrot on his plate. For a $28 and $30 entrees, that was quite disappointing. I think this place has potential, but right now it appears they need to improve the quality of cooking for the price point they are at before we return. read more

Very disappointing. The four of us sat down and were greeted nicely. Ordered bottle of wine and some local brews. Two people sat at the table next to us, shortly after we received our drinks. Had a great final night in SV meal here. The staff was excellent and they were doing a good job with the various Covid requirements. I started with the shrimp cakes which were delicious but I was jealous of my two dining mates that got the wedge with the house made prosciutto. I had the steak which was done correctly. Coming to this restaurant on a nice vacation with my family was a great experience, the food and the experience all so amazing! The waiter was a kind and energized she was ready to take our order! Great service!!!! For appetizers we got bread and Brussels sprouts. The bread was served cold with butter, there where too different types of breads. Unfortunately I don't know the type of bread but it was very good. The Brussel sprouts where so good! They were served with bacon, goat cheese, and the flavors where amazing! The best brussel sprouts I have ever eaten! For dinner, this location was able to accommodate to our liking. My oldest got a cheese burger with nothing special, they where able to make a plain cheese burger. My youngest got a butter pasta blend with parm wich they where able to make for her. I got the Ziti, it wasn't the best. It sounded better than what it was but it might be likable to your tastebuds. My husband got the halibut, it was very good. Very overpriced for the food but overall it tasted Braised Rocky Mountain Lamb Shank - the polenta is below par which brings down the dish in comparison to the Lamb itself... the broccoli is steamed and without flavor so another one that's below expectations on this dish. 6/10 Almond Crusted Idaho Trout - Trout was delicious great seasoning and flavor... sides are average so pretty good. 7/10 Jerk Spiced Pork Chop - Sides are poor like stated but the Pork was pretty good, a little chewy but that's the deal with the cut. 6.5/10 Fruitwood Grilled Beef Medallions - So so good.
