Recommended lunch stop & the log cabin lodge is in a majestic setting. The lake, beach, big porch with the snow capped mountains in the background are picturesque. The Redfish Lake was cold, no one was swimming but it was perfect for kayaking & paddle boats. I was happy to have Wi-Fi and clean bathrooms. Very rustic and fun. The Lodge is from the 1920's and has stood the test of time. We stayed in the main lodge, it is a room with a sink in a corner of the room and the bath across the hall, we are talking old boarding house experience. We had the most wonderful dinner down stairs at Limbert's it was delish, so was breakfast. The grounds are so well keep with hiking, boating and kayaking available. The lodge sits on the edge of the lake which is so beautiful and you see the Sawtooth in the background. This was a fun trip. read more

I was in the immediate area camping for 9 days and spent some time hanging out at lodge. One day we rented an outboard motorboat. Even my dog was allowed to go on it. Two hours was more than enough time to see the entire lake. Another day we took the shuttle boat across the lake to hike to a beautiful large lily pad pond and a gorgeous waterfall. Humans were $25 each for the boat, only $3 for the dog! Well worth it. One day there was a huge thunderstorm. My dog and I sat at the lodge snuggled up and watched the entire storm from beginning to end. It was really amazing as we don't have those types of storms where we live. One day while we were doing laundry close by we decided to have breakfast at the lodge. Small menu, great quality! The 3 of us all had eggs Benedict. $14! And SO good! Bonus points for great service! When we arrived we were sat in the front. My dad, who worked in construction all his life, is a bit hard of hearing. The music and other patrons made it so he couldn't hear anything. The sweet waitress (stupid me I didn't get her name) noticed right away. Offered to turn down the music, then decided to just move us to the back of the restaurant where no one else was sitting. This made all the difference for my dad. I'm super impressed that we didn't have to ask. The waitress just saw the issue and took it upon herself to make it better. Honestly that rarely happens in my experience. She also told us a few local secrets, like where the lesser known hot springs are. She was a total sweetheart and very much deserved the 45% tip my dad gave her. Since we didn't stay at the lodge I can't say anything about the rooms but every worker we encountered was super nice and helpful. And the lodge itself was so cool in such a beautiful spot. We visit the area regularly, but are normally camping. We splurged this time and stayed in Lodge room #10 which looks out over the lake. It is a cozy room with a big fluffy bed and an electric fireplace for ambiance. There is a sink/vanity in the room and the bathrooms are across the hall. The shared bathrooms are very nice and clean. We had a lovely dinner prepared by Chef Jake and enjoyed some libations in the bar with their friendly staff. This is our happy place, so every visit is very special. read more

Recently visited for a wedding and while beautiful, it's a bit remote. So, just keep in mind that you aren't likely to have wifi or service for the duration of your stay. Stayed for three nights in one of the fishhooks cabins and the proximity to the lodge and lake cannot be beat. Pros: It's friggin beautiful The staff are incredibly nice. Literally all of them. There is tons to do: fishing, boating, hiking, biking. The drinks and food on site are seriously delicious. Cons: With no service or wifi it is incredibly hard to coordinate with people who may be staying in town or camping near by. The accommodations are expensive/not great: Our cabin was $299 a night and was an actual log cabin (where the air and light from outside seeps in) and a pretty dated bathroom with very little light. It was super super hard to see things inside and the whole house creaks at the slightest movement which can make it hard to sleep with multiple guests. The bed was super firm and not all the cabins have an iron. Overall, a pretty fantastic stay but they book a literal year in advance and the cabins are just too expensive for what they offer. read more

We stayed in Lodge #18 which is in the upper level of the main lodge, above the restaurant and bar. This had no impact on our sleep as the restaurant stops serving around 10pm and bar isn't large or rowdy. These rooms utilize a shared bathroom/shower facility, as described, and it works out just fine. The bathrooms are clean and spacious, and the showers are private and clean, and they provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. #18 is the perfect size for a single person or a couple. It was a warm weekend (first week of June), but the room has a window fan that helps to circulate air. Parking is available just down the stairs from the lodge, which is very convenient. The room was very clean and the bedding was comfortable. The room also has a sink/washbasin in it which was also convenient. It's also offered at a great price. I will definitely book this again. Rooms: The lodge rooms are small and cozy. They were clean and the bedding was excellent. Nearby activities: The marina offers all kinds of rentals: pedal boats, SUPs, boats, pontoons, etc. There is a grass lawn for picnics or activities, the lakeside beach, and great hiking. There's also a nature center in walking distance. Safety: Very safe, but be careful of ticks when going on hikes. Walkability: Easy walk to the Redfish trail heads for a variety of destinations including the Bench lakes. Steps away from the beach, lake, and marina. Food & drinks: Dinner at the lodge was amazing. Great flavor and presentation. The bar is full-service, but there is no specialty cocktail menu, so know what you want to drink. Great wine selection as well. read more

My husband and I were lucky enough to get a reservation in Lodge Room #18. Our room was impeccably clean and the bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed a beautiful forest view out our window. While the bathrooms were across the hall, they still felt convenient and were immaculate! The staff was professional, welcoming, and helpful. We didn't experience any problems with our stay. Redfish Lake is a treasure hidden in the sawtooth mountains of Central Idaho. I would highly recommend setting aside time to make the trip to Redfish and enjoy the many hikes, rivers, waterfalls, and of course the beautiful lake with views of Heavens Gate. Don't waste your money. Rented a cabin for three nights and we're extremely disappointed. To start, the comforter had someone else's blood stains on the duvet cover, Disgusting! The pillows and mattress here are the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. The mattress is so terrible we can actually feel the springs in the lumpy bed and after just one night both my spouse and I have terrible back pain. Such poor quality beds that we wanted to leave early! The room has a fireplace and when we arrived the room was left so Smokey that it burned our eyes and throat and we had to leave door and windows open in the cold night air just to get some fresh air so we could sleep. We are not impressed with the cleanliness, there are several cobwebs in the room and the bathroom walls look gross and dirty, like they've never been wiped down. For the amount of money we paid, I expect a lot more. I will say that views here are wonderful and the restaurant, Limberts, had excellent food. The quiet hours start at 10 pm yet the lodge allowed several very loud and obnoxious drunks to party on the back porch near our cabin until almost 11pm, when my spouse had enough and had to go ask a manager to take care of the noise. The walls in the cabin are also paper thin and we could hear our neighbors entire conversations as well as their crying baby most of the night. This was NOT the relaxing retreat we were looking for. I will not be a returning customer here. Our entire stay has been a huge disappointment. We were really looking forward to this and we waited a long time to come here, unfortunately it was a huge let down - from the dirty room and blood stains, to the terrible beds and surrounding noise. Save yourself the trouble and find somewhere else to stay and come here to Visit for day use only. read more

Let me say that if you read a semi bad review for this place, reviewers have no clue that we are in the mountains. Th view of the Sawtooth mountains off the lake, the hiking, the lake itself and the food all is amazing. The people here are great. It's awesome to see families come and enjoy nature at its best. My wife and I checked in to the only room available at the lodge in August, it has a queen bed, a sink and a great fan that installs to the window and you get both fresh air and create white noise.... The food was a true experience; their chef is from LA and produced amazing dishes for us. This is just an an awesome place to stay and enjoy. We will be back. Enjoy! read more

We love staying here! Being so close to the lake and spending the day playing on paddle boards and kayaks and eating at the Grill is one of our families favorite summer time things to do. This is a wonderful place! So wonderful to stay at Redfish lake lodge. I have been coming to Redfish Lake every summer since I was a baby and it is a magical place. The last 3 years we have stayed at the Lodge itself and each stay has been wonderful. There is truly no place like it. The beds are comfortable and each cabin and room has its own charm - the rooms are clean and the Lodge will supply with all you needs during your stay. The kids love staying so close to the lake and the river and hiking kayaking at the marina. The staff and management/owners are so sweet. The restaurant is a special treat as well. The bike rental staff even fixed my bike in just a few minutes - truly going out of their way. They found my necklace after we left and contacted me to send it back - that is truly unheard of. 5 stars all around just amazing and fabulous! read more

We hiked the Redfish Lake Trailhead and after a long hike we decided to take the ferry back and that's when we happened upon the lodge. Its honestly just spectacular. The place is a true Oasis. We fell in love and asked if they had any rooms available. We stayed two nights and just was sad to leave. All the help was so sweet and accommodating. The restaurant was incredible. They have everything for the perfect get away or family vacation. Next summer we are coming back with our kids. They even had a wonderful band play last night on the outdoor grassy area. The beach is pristine and the families that were staying were all wonderful and classy. No one was loud or acting stupid. No smoking etc. It was truly just perfect. GO! This place is downright MAGICAL. If you're addicted to your devices (e.g. phones, tablets, etc..) then Redfish Lake Lodge isn't the place for you. Here, at this lake, you have 1 job.. and that is to disconnect with the outside world. My boyrfriend and I are S. Floridians; our lives are pretty hectic so taking this spontaneous mini vaca up to Idaho was not only needed but well worth every penny. We stayed in the Honeymoon cabin which is located literally next to the lake. It's private and so romantic. Staff were pretty friendly given how young most of them are. The food at the lodge was amazing and super cheap (for us anyway). Presentation and flavors were 5 star dining quality meals. These same plates in Miami would run over $100 for 2 so we were very pleased. That goes for our bar tabs as well. The lake.. omg the lake. Let me just say this, I'm a beach gal. I love the ocean but oceans are lot like big cities in that they aren't calm and quiet like lakes are. Redfish Lake and its mountains, creeks, and trees just blew us away. At the marina you can rent a boat, paddle boards (I brought my own), bikes, pontoons, pretty much anything to get you going on an adventure. I had my wedding here this past weekend (9/23/23), and it was better than I could have ever imagined. My wife and I are from California and rather than have a local wedding we decided we wanted a destination wedding that would be one to remember. Redfish Lake was just that. The staff was incredibly helpful, sweet, and hard working which made our day that much better. The food was amazing and extremely well valued. To top it all off, the setting and scenery was breathtaking, with clear calm water, the sawtooth mountains, and crisp mountain air. Mice in our cabin. pooped & peed while making themselves at home with our food & fruit on counter. In the morning you see they/it run under the kitchen sink into a hole next to pipe ... yup that's what nice do, but not at 400.00 a night!!!! Gross and pathetic we couldn't enjoy the kitchen. Mice are in the walls upstairs bedroom as well. U can hear them in the walls scratching/chewing as soon as the lights go out.
