Window to order baked goods and coffee only. Avoid the line!

I had a delicious Reuben sandwich which was made with homemade sauerkraut with purple cabbage. What a treat! The fresh rye bread was perfect and the sandwich was just big enough not to be overfilling. I'm used to toasted bread for Reubens, but I didn't miss that at all. I suppose you could ask for that. Hubby had a sourdough blueberry muffin which was moist, not too sweet and had plenty of berries. We sat outside on the patio which offered plenty of shade and seating options. There was a line to order food and it did go a bit slow, but the man taking my order was friendly and thorough, and the food was delivered quite quickly to my surprise. The inside offered tables and several bar seats. This place is a gem and I am looking forward to returning to try the breakfast items.

Great breakfast. Watching the guy ride his unicycle away holding his box of pastries was entertaining.

The fresh black berry scone was amazing. Light and delicious. Latte was hot and yummy. Took a little bit to order our food and for it to arrive but worth the wait. The oatmeal pancakes are huge. Ambiance was comfy and cute.

Made a coffee stop on our way out of town and ended up staying for a snack! First, this is the place to be, when we arrived there was a line out the door... but then I noticed there was an express lane. Giving people an option of dining in and ordering from a food menu or ordering a beverage / bakery item, skipping the line. Genius! I ordered a Caramel Macchiato with Almond Milk, so delicious and creamy. The barista perfected the sweetness level too (I like mine semi sweet). My partner ordered the Idaho Kombucha, making me question if I wanted to double fist with my coffee and his choice. They have an extensive bakery menu, although they do run out quick, due to demand. We had to get a cinnamon roll of course, it was *chefs kiss.* It was so good, I dug in before I remembered to take a photo! Large enough to share between two, unless you're up for the challenge. The atmosphere was lively and cozy, with cabin vibes. Highly recommend!

In a town with very few choices, these guys could get away with a far inferior product. But they don't. There will be a line. It will move quickly. Your food will arrive sooner than you imagined possible. And it will be delicious. The coffee is hot, a good solid roast. Service is prompt and pleasant. There's a grab and go window for pastries. Enjoy

"We Got the Beet" was awesome!! Crag Sandwich was just ok - mostly bread. They were happy to put our to go orders in our personal Tupperwares we brought - save the earth! Love that they have housemade sauerkraut!

Ok, I admit it. I came here for breakfast each of the three days I was in Stanley. Why? Why not! Great coffee. Friendly faces. A variety of choices. The oatmeal pancakes were awesome. The Crag Sandwich with grass fed beef sausage and cheddar was very filling. If I lived here, I would definitely be a regular.

long line but worth the wait. biscuits and gravy with crunchy hashbrowns. Oatmeal or sourdough pancakes with burritos

What more could you ask for in small cozy town with big mountain feels?! This yummy bakery, that is! It's the cherry on top to a perfect mountain getaway. Come here to fuel up with all the coffee and pastries your heart desires. Not pictured are the cinnamon rolls and scones I devoured. Both equally amazing but those cinnamon rolls call my name and the French toast (pictured) pulls my heart strings. This is truly a Stanley gem and no wonder folks flock to this place, it's the lifeline for your caffeine and breakfast fix. Check out the express window- great for anyone who wants to grab and go! Otherwise, line does tend to go out the door but fear not it moves quick and shouldn't have to wait too long for your delicious meal. Enjoy, my mountain loving friends!

There were lots of options and the first thing we started with was a loaf of the sourdough bread. When we asked how large it would be the waiter responded "the size of a small baby" lol. He wasn't entirely wrong either, it was a pretty good size. It was so good paired with the whipped feta and pimento cheese. I am not normally a huge pimento fan, but this was really good. Next we had one of the salads, but it wasn't the star of the show, still tasty though. The pierogis were quite good and had a good consistency. We did make friends with the table next to us who ordered almost 1 of everything on the menu and raved about even the stuff we did not try so it seemed like you couldn't go wrong no matter what you order.

Hubby liked the smoked whitefish and said he would have it again. The house-made and baked sourdough was delish and we took a half loaf home to enjoy tomorrow. The sausage charcuterie board was great. The highlight for us was the house-made bacon which had a great spiciness. The bratwurst was really good paired with the house mustard, and the kielbasa was good as well, although not our fave. We just preferred the brat and bacon. We shared the fried chicken for two and it didn't disappoint. The coating was crunchy and well-seasoned. It did fall off, but if you held tightly, you could get a great bite of both the breading and the moist chicken beneath. They served three sauces with it which were all complimentary and offered a choice for everyone. The mashed potatoes were reminiscent of those we've had at a few fine dining establishments such as Joel Robuchon, (although these fell short of that, they were quite tasty and deserved of their own accolades). The shaved broccoli salad was the hit of the meal. It delivered on all taste elements. The ambiance reminded us of a cozy Bavarian restaurant. There was lots of wood, cozy tables and chalet-style decor. All that was missing may be a cheese fondue. I wouldn't be surprised if they offered that in the winter season. The prices were very reasonable and could fit almost any dining budget depending upon the menu selection. A rare find anywhere, but especially in such a small town. Don't miss this special place if you're in Stanley or the surrounding area. It's worth a visit just to grab a loaf of bread for your trail sandwiches.

When you first walkup to the hotel, you are met with a very rustic, cabin-esque hotel building where you wouldn't expect to find such a fine dining experience. We were sat outside which presented the opportunity to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Sawtooth Mountain range. We ordered several dishes for our meal and every dish was just as amazing as the other! Bigwood Baguette: This was a great start to the meal! The baguette was baked to perfection and had the perfect amount of crunch to it. It comes topped with an herb oil and sea salt which added the most flavorful touch. Soup of the Day: Their soup of the day was a White Bean stew topped with rosemary and hern olive oil. The stew was rich without being too heavy and the seasoning was perfect. Soy Glazed Brussels: The soy sweet chili glaze had such a nice balance of sweetness and the slightest hint of spice. The crispy rice noodles and crumbled peanuts added such a nice textural contrast to the Brussel sprouts, which in my opinion were cooked to perfection! They were seared well without being too burnt or crispy. Beets & Burrata: Hands down one of the highlights of the whole meal. This dish came with a handful of components, that when paired together into one bite on a crostini, resulted in the most delicious amuse-bouche. The burrata was so light and fresh and I never knew that it was the perfect pairing with beets on a crostini. A MUST have. Columbia River Grilled Steelhead: Absolutely stunning. The Steelhead was executed beautifully and the mushroom asparagus risotto was cooked to perfection. Honestly, compliments to the chef for what seemed to almost be an experimental pairing with adding the sweet pesto and blueberry gastrique. Never could have I imagined these flavors being paired together atop a piece of salmon and I will not ever soon forget how flawless this dish was. Pork Schnitzel: This was my husband's dish which I did not have a bite of, but from what I could tell, the Pork Schnitzel was very well done. It was thinned out and tenderized very well and the breading looked like it was golden-crisped wonderfully. I did get to try the mashed potatoes and can remark that they were some of the best I've had! I had some of the lemon caper beurre blanc that was drizzled atop the dish and I would do anything to be able to have a jar of that at home. I am going to talk about this meal for a long time. If you are ever passing through Stanley, Idaho, it would be a giant mistake to not visit the restaurant at the Sawtooth Hotel.

I came with a large group at the beginning of hunting season and had dinner here. Even with the large number of people in the area and our large party, the wait time for a table was not very long. The food itself was hit or miss. The burgers were under cooked so make sure to say how you would like the burger cooked. The salad on the chicken was dry and over cooked. Everything else was okay. The steak was the most enjoyed meal in our party. The breakfast was a bit better. The biscuits and gravy were good, but the hash browns were not very crispy. The cinnamon roll and pancakes were very good. The breakfast sandwich was good, but not very filling. The eggs were over cooked, especially the fried egg. The service was a little slow but I think that was due to the crowds and how large our party was. Staff were very friendly and everything was very clean. Overall, you don't have a lot of options here but there are decent options in this small town.

The gals behind the counter were nice but clearly running around like chickens. The website is down (and has been for a while, and still is as I post this review 10 days later), which is always a drag because I like to preview the menu and cross reference with Yelp photos. When I mentioned it, they were a little snotty, so I dropped it. I ordered two sandwiches, the hot roast beef and the ham and apple. Instead, I received the meatball sandwich in place of the roast beef. Honestly, I was fine with it, but the lady doubled down and insisted I had ordered the meatball one. Spoiler alert, I did not. The ham and apple had barely a whisper of apple, so the meatball ended up being the winner of the two. The real stars here though are the cookies. Yes, they are overpriced, but they are delicious. The flavor was ok but very messy. The salad was split for us and had romaine lettuce, shredded parmesan, croutons and dressing. The salad was crisp and fresh but the salad tasted like a bunch of individual ingredients and not a blended meal. The dressing was also scant. I forgot to photograph the meal but don't feel it would change my opinion. The ingredients were solid but the meal tasted like the items were stacked and no effert was made to blend them together.
