Great bakery and coffee shop! The bread looked and smelled amazing, but we only had pastries with our coffee. Everything we ordered was tasty. There is plenty of seating and a comfy loft seating area that was our fave. They have sandwiches, cookies, muffins, various breads, lots of deliciousness. This is a one of a kind, hole in the wall, artists, paradise in the middle of a tiny mining town. It is a exposed brick haven/cozy nook with the best baked goods I've ever tasted, diesel coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Every single thing that is made here is made with immense love and care. We had the breakfast sandwiches which were build your own. They give you a little piece of paper to fill out and check off all the ingredients you wanted. I ordered a bacon provolone and egg sandwich with basil, aïoli, greens, and a toasted croissant. It was so delicious, the eggs were so fluffy. It was perfectly made. Also, it was huge and very satisfying, and not very expensive. The baked goods were perhaps even more mouthwatering. The chocolate chip pumpkin muffin left us gasping in awe of its perfect density, lightness, and flavor. If consisted of light, fluffy butter, and a constellation of delicious semi sweet, chocolate chips. It was everything you've ever won in a muffin. The edges of the muffin were crispy and baked to perfection. We also had the cardamom croissant. That was rolled in sugar, and it was to die for. There is plenty of seating for everyone. The interior is immaculately decorated with art that you can buy off the wall. This place supports local artists and has a very cool selection of oil, acrylic and watercolor landscapes. I love the entire concept, and I will return it I ever have the chance. I came all the way from Massachusetts for this as it was exactly what I needed. This place is a gem of the west. read more

We are back. i just can't get enough of this bakery. Every time we come through Salmon and they are open, we stop by. You just can't go wrong with anything you order. If they are available, my top choice is the ham and cheese croissants. To ensure I got my fix, I actually called ahead today and had them set some aside for us. We also grabbed a Ham/cheese/raspberry jam/dijon croissant sandwich to split in our road trip. It was so good. First of all, its on their super buttery and flakey croissant. Combine it with the other ingredients and it packs a flavor punch that will knock your socks off. Try it warmed up...Mmmmmm. The ginger cookie and snickerdoodle cookies were tender and chewy--just the way I like them. I am so excited they have resumed their bi-weekly deliveries to the Bitterroot Valley (Hamilton MT). Oddfellows, you have no idea how happy that makes me. Please. If you are near this part of the country it is worth the drive to swing by. Call first as sometimes they close early when they sell out. Had an order sent to us and it was not the order that was placed, the owner or manager said that blue berry muffins are baked everyday and that the Lemon poppy seed is baked once in a while. We received 6 Blueberry and 6 chocolate chip muffins. I called and his response was we can credit back on the card or why don't you go to a bakery in California and get you lemon poppy seed muffins. Not very professional. Won't be recommending them any more. We tell everyone that if they're driving through Salmon Idaho that they need to stop. Not anymore! read more

You could just tell walking in that you walked into the right place. Smiling, attentive people behind the counter... LOTS of quality product (especially the sandwiches) sitting in the display case and, as it turns out, a very good cup of coffee. It wasn't an accident... I didn't just catch them at the right moment... this is a tight operation that delivers the goods. It's not painfully watching some lunk-head assemble your sandwich as he drags your tray down the row of bins of shredded lettuce and chopped tomato... it's adult, tight sandwiches, built with thought and care just waiting to be heated, if desired, or ready to chow straight from the case. Don't confuse that with tired old sandwiches that have been sitting in the case for hours because there is no turnover. These were the shit. In a good way. My friend went across the street to eat and was not happy when he came back from lunch and took a look at my world class ham and cheese on really good crusty-but-soft bread. Focaccia? Baguette? We happened upon this place while driving through Salmon on our way through Idaho, and screeched to a halt. We'd just bought a loaf of supermarket bread but we ignored it, once we got a nice sourdough rye from Oddfellows. I'm a home baker and bread snob, and this loaf was a delight. We got it sliced so we could use it on the road for picnics. It kept well and we savored it for almost a week. Sourdough keeps well and this was a great loaf for traveling. The only minor complaint I have is that the young lady who waited on us had no idea of the flour content of the loaves on offer-- she got the baker from the back, so we got to meet him and express our appreciation directly. read more
