This restaurant is technically in Nevada City, Montana which must now be part of Virginia City…read more The burgers were fantastic and the Philly was very tasty. The building is an old western shack-looking thing, but the inside is nice and quaint. If you're passing through, stop and have some food.

If I were to have stepped back in time 100 years and had period Virginia City Star Bakery food it would have been exponentially better. Things are supposed to improve with time, experience, and technique. Not here, they take you back to the stone ages with food and service. Sat down with a joke of a server who seemed like she had never interacted with a customer before. How about a menu, how about some silverware, maybe some water, oh it's morning maybe offer some coffee. Nope, you must fend for yourself. Once we did get some coffee it was not consumable. Better off as a preservative for the decks of medieval pirate ships. Menu was a hot mess for "brunch" and priced like it was a Michelin contending Big Sky restaurant. Nope, iHop would embarrassed this joint. COOK THE HASH-BROWNS CLOWN!!! Scrambled eggs overcooked, bacon you could see through it was so thin. The only thing palatable was the sourdough toast. Likely homemade, but a 12 year old could make sourdough. And the jelly came in a plastic 1oz compote cup. Classy, real classy. Cooks and server all looked like they rolled out of bed 5 minutes prior to service. You pay at a "kiosk" prior to even getting service, so MAKE SURE YOU TIP $0 AS TIPS ARE FOR SERVICE RECEIVED NOT SERVICE ASSUMED. Save your money for subpar service and food and go elsewhere. $17 for 2 eggs overcooked, 3 pieces of thin sliced bacon, and hash-browns warmed to take the chill off but god forbid they were browned. Let's not even discuss the lack of any seasoning. But, they are going for medieval theme right?

We stopped here in our way to Missoula, MT and This place was amazing, definitely a must stop,…read morethey were friendly and very nice. You fill out a paper on what you want on your sandwich , from different types of bread, toppings and cheese,.. The food was very fresh, loved that they use their own products for sandwiches. They have so many things to pick from biscuits and gravy, breakfast pies among other things they offer. Freashy baked bread, pastries. And even have a deli with different types of cold meats. And if your in the mood for ice cream they have that too. They have picked, veggies, eggs, jarred fruits, jams. Different types of cheeses , dips among other things s . They do take credit cards or cash in case you were wondering like us.

I really had high hopes for this place, but it was honestly a little disappointing. The employees…read more(teens I think) were far from friendly. Seems like maybe they just don't like having to work there. I bought wheat bread, the kind of pillowy soft bread that reminds me of my childhood. It made excellent sandwiches, but is a little too soft for toast. I also found some beautiful fresh pears that were perfectly ripe. They were delicious. Of the canned goods, I bought dill pickles, black cherry jam, peaches, and salsa. They were all just ok. I think I make better at home. The rest of the store had some somewhat cool pantry staples, but a TON of chemical laden processed foods. Just a lot of sugary junk loaded with palm oil or soy bean oil. Pretty disappointing. The pastries were pretty sad looking too. Overall, the pears and bread were good, but the place is not worth the 30 min drive to get there.
