Bertram's was my first dining experience while spending the weekend in Salmon over Labor Day. The service was good but the French dip was incredibly bland. The meat just tasted like overcooked beef slabs. It was large and tons of beef but you wouldn't want to eat the beef because of its lack of flavor. I tried putting ketchup on the beef just to help it because not even the au jus was helping. But that didn't do any better. :( The fish and chips were good but just one slice of lemon wasn't enough and no malt vinegar offered. We didn't get a "table check" so we could ask for these items so we just ate what we could and waved down for the check. Salmon is so small that there are not many options for food at all. You'll likely not have much of a choice but to dine here if staying for a few days, so I suggest just not getting the French dip. read more

SOOO happy this place is open again. Great beer and wings. I love the brown and black lager. Excited for the hazy to come back so I can try that. Ivy was an absolute delight of a server as well. We will be back anytime we return to Salmon. read more

What a great find! We did an overnight at the Elks Lodge in town during our travels to MT. and were ready to get a cold beer and a bite. They knocked it out of the park. We tried a few different beers, all were just great! Food was delicious! Best of all was the service! Got a real feel for the folks of this town, just super nice and genuine! We were fortunate enough to receive service from the on duty Manager, Jodi (hope I got it right). What a truly sweet lady! If she treats everyone like she treated us, then you can't let this one go! I gave the original Bertram's a 5 star rating. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad. The dressing they put on it completely covered the salad. Horrible and tasteless. My wife had a Chinese Chicken salad and she said it too was tasteless. My daughter in law had pub grub and a side of fries. No complaints other than 12.00 for a glass of beer was a little much. It took forever for the server to get to us. When she brought the food, she forgot to give us utensils. My daughter in law got up and got them. My usual tip is 15% but I actually felt embarrassed to tip her, let alone the 15% I gave her. Terrible food, terrible service. I'm going somewhere else next time. Oh, I didn't see the steak sandwich on the menu which was a killer sandwich at the original Bertram's. I dislike giving a one star rating but I have to be honest, and would be doing a dis-service to future customers looking for a good place to eat. read more

I have worked in many restaurants over many years and I have never seen such a mess. The food was decent but it took almost 2 hours to get it. Multiple customers were screamed at by staff, and there was no manager anywhere. I was told the owner was around but, I hope not because all I saw was one girl working, and a bunch of other people in the same kind of shirt, lazing about drunk on a busy service night. Dried on food on tables and chairs, and old food laying around the floor covered in bugs in multiple places. Feel very sorry if you've eaten there recently. Get a growler of beer to go! It's the only thing worth the price there! read more
