After church I was feeling a breakfast spot and used yelp, this place showed up in my search so we decided to hit them up. We used the app on yelp for the waitlist and by the time we arrived we were seated right away. Thank goodness for that app because there was a lot of people in line. The parking lot was always crowded and luckily I got a decent parking spot. Now let's get to the food.. I decided to order the Racy Tracy which consisted of mushrooms, cheese, bacon and topped with avocado. The portions here are huge and this meal came with toast and a side of either spudz or hash brown and I opted for the spudz with onions and cheese. Those bad boys were dynamite! I really enjoyed this meal because everything worked together from the avocados to the bacon and cheese within the omelette. I'll be sure to come back to this spot because they have tons of signature dishes that I want to try out. So if you're every craving a cool brunch or breakfast spot be sure to give them a try. We waited over 30 minutes for the food to arrive with only half the tables seated in the restaurant. My son's meal was served with items he informed the waitress he was allergic to, and my order was incomplete. We brought this to the waitresses attention and she said it would take 15 to 20 minutes longer to correct my son's order since the balloon races were in Reno right now. I looked around once again, and only half the tables were seated in the restaurant and found that to be a very poor excuse. I asked to speak with the manager. The manager offered no solutions other than to wait and that he would comp the meal. Did not have time for a 2 to 2 1/2 hour breakfast. Visited on 6/22 and had an amazing overall experience. We haven't been here in forever (life gets busy) but we are excited to bring our kids and visits much more regularly. Today I ordered a usual thing for me and I always ask for no cucumber. I said please. I capitalized the request. I tipped $4. It does not matter, you gave me a load of cucumber anyway. Why do you even have a special request box if you almost never actually execute the request? Also, my Loaded Avocado Toast has avocado spread on it like its butter, not Loaded Avocado Toast. This was my first visit here! I am typically not a brunch person and was a little skeptical about coming here. First of all, we came at 1:45 and the place closes at 2pm, the staff was very nice and let us have a meal even though we came in so close to closing. Even coming there so late the staff were positive, had high energy and executed the same customer service as they probably do any other hour. The aesthetics were interesting, very casual and "cool" with all the art, drawings, and things hanging off the walls (photos attached). Our waitress Erin was really nice, gave us time to get our orders together and communicated with us when she went on her lunch. I ordered the bacon burger I believe. The food was amazing and even though I was not looking for brunch they definitely had a great lunch menu! The burger was huge, the garlic fries were good, and of course the orange juice was great (hear thats what they are known for.) The portions will definately leave you with leftovers for the next day. Great local spot for a hearty meal. We came to the north reno location with a party of 8. We were able to use the yelp waitlist option which is an absolute life slaver especially for big parties. We did have to 30 min wait but for a Saturday on a holiday weekend that is pretty reasonable! Our food was delicious, our wait staff were so personable and there was a good selection of options on the menu. We ordered some breakfast cocktails that were pretty tasty! The restaurant is open until 2pm so there are limited lunch options in the menu as well. The absolute surprise best tasting item was the pesto sauce which is an option to order with the omelets! So she said to go on the waiting list tablet and btw it's not updated so I dunno ,maybe a 15 min wait ? Maybe 30? She didn't even know. Went to coffee place next door and waited over 30 min got no tex t from waiting list. Came in she forgot about us. Then pointed to like 3 tables said u can grab whatever then.. there u go. She had zero customer service present. It got worse. We sat forever!!! Like the couple next to us and the group next to us were served food etc first when we came in way ahead of them. The server was out of it just seemed to want quick $$$ didn't care. Asked about certain sauces etc because I have a bad wheat allergy . He guessed and didn't care. He didn't even check for me. Honestly when someone has an allergy and the waiter doesn't check or care, I'm done with that place. That careless, dangerous attitude can harm someone. Base menu states 14 bucks for avocado toast. Pretty insane but typically a great meal so went with it. It comes with bacon. We asked if we could sub eggs for the bacon, guy said yes not a problem at all. They removed the bacon added two eggs. Just two. They then proceed to charge us 23 dollars for AVACADO TOAST. The employee could tell we were not happy. So he doubled down and killed us with his "kindness" attitude. Overall I will never go back. We sat inside, but it was just as hot as it would have been outside so I wouldn't recommend that. Our waiter was super friendly and relatable and he attended to all our our needs, going above and beyond for us. I got the Aloha Aikane omelette as a scrambled with a side of creamy mushroom sauce. The eggs were light and fluffy and the honey and jalapeños really worked well with the creamy cheese. It was absolutely delicious. And they have really great quality bread for toast as well. I so want to love this place especially because it is locally owned but most of my visits have been lacking. We went to the original location in Truckee for years before the ownership changed. I was happy when several locations eventually opened around Reno. For a long time, they were all very good but that no longer seems to be the case. The menu is nowhere near what the it used to be and it seems that they have taken off some of the long time favorites. Service seems to be another issue. It took a solid 15 minutes before a server even came over. The other issue is that the server forgot to put in the order for the kids food so they ended up waiting which made things challenging for the adults. The food itself was fine but nothing special that you couldn't find elsewhere. I think the Squeeze Inn has lost what made them special. The decor at this location looked tired and desperately needed a good dusting and the restaurant itself looked as if it could benefit from a deep cleaning. The prices have also gone up significantly. I always root for local businesses and I hope that they can get back to their original vibe and recapture what made them special. In the meantime, it may be a while before we are back. read more
