Ohhhhhh where do I even begin... The only reason they have good ratings is because they give you five dollars off if you give them a five star review! This place is so unprofessional. Usually people go to a nail salon to relax.... you will not get this experience here. They have a weird habit of playing karaoke in the back super loud.. Got a gel manicure on Friday and it started lifting by Saturday. Called in on Monday said I can fix it on Thursday. Called in on Thursday and said my tech won't be in till Friday. I already had made plans for someone to watch my kids so I can go Thursday... so I pushed it for me get it fixed Thursday and they said another lady would be able to do it and to be there by 4:30. I get there at 4:15 the nail tech that is supposed to do my nails is still in the beginning stages of someone else's nails. I asked them nicely when she would be done and told me that she will fix my nails. I understand that she was going to fix my nails I needed to know what time because they were running behind schedule. They all started talking in their language another lady came to start removing the gel. She decided to pick and choose which nails needed to be fixed when they alllll clearly needed to be changed after I showed her. The nail tech was finally available and began to fix my nails. I had paid extra to add glitter my original time and now this lady is telling me she cannot do it. That I need to come again tomorrow to fix my nails while my lady is back in. They ended up calling her to see what they can do. She claimed that she did not know how to do glitter. How is it that it's so difficult to put glitter on someone's nails? And then to top it off I am the last customer. And now I am obviously a "trouble customer" then A new customer comes in and the lady so nicely puts her karaoke machine away and sits down on the side! What is this!? This place is so unprofessional I cannot believe this place is still in business. read more

I come here all the time...all of a sudden there is a new manager and she tells me they can't take me. I called ahead of time and she confirmed that as long as I got there before 7pm they could take me. I drove from my house and would not have left if she would have told me they couldn't take me. I don't even have gel on my nails today so the process would have been quicker. When I told her I called ahead she asked to see my phone because she thought I was lying. Super rude!! So inconvenient! I've only been there once and Helen took care of me. I had fills done and a pedicure. Out of all the nail places I have tried, this one by far has met my expectations. HELEN did an AWESOME job! My nails looked so natural. I highly recommend her. I went back a few days later because one of my nails broke/chipped and she fixed it at no extra charge. This is now my to go place for ever! *Tip: parking lot is very small and limited. There is also a small fee for using debit/credit card (.50 or $1, I think). My first time here Sun 10/21/18. So I called to ask how long was the wait for pedicure, lady said no wait. Ok perfect because I was a little pressed for time and my regular nail shop is in Carson so I decided to give it a chance. I arrive and the lot is extremely tight. I squeeze into the last space next to the wall where I was barely able to get out of my car without my door touching the next car. I go inside and to my surprise I see dozens of people. Half of the people are customers and the other have where nail techs. All the chairs are being used. The lady in the front asked can I help you ? I said yes I called about a pedicure then directs me to pick a color so I did and tried to figure out which chairs are the waiting chairs as I was not expecting to wait. I waited approx 15 mins. for someone to get started on me , which is not long but because I was pressed on time at that moment the 15 mins really mattered. 40 mins later she's finally done. It's not how long the pedi took it's the fact that you are giving people false wait time to get them in there and I don't appreciate being manipulated for my business. If she would of said about 15 mins then I could've analyzed my time (probably not have gone) & outfit and used those 15 mins more wisely than to wait when I didn't have too. Btw it was my bday and my bf surprised me with a day trip (hence my time press) Solution : give people an honest wait time because you never know what is going on in their personal life and maybe they may not show up that day but at least they can say you were honest and go back for more services. 3 Star because my nail tech did a nice job ! I've been to my share of nail salons and since moving to Downey 8 months ago, I've been searching for somewhere worthwhile. I saw Spa Nails yesterday and thought I'd give it a try. I would have been better off chewing my nails off. The woman would cut a piece of my toe nail and then pull it off - yes pull! She worked so quickly that she didn't even add any lotion or give the massage. That's the best part of a pedicure and I didn't get it! The woman who did my manicure was a little better though it was difficult to enjoy since the staff were talking (no yelling) to each other in their language. It was so loud that the owner (a man) came over to apologize and said, "sorry it's so loud. you know how women are." I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I'd rather have long cuticles and overgrown nails! read more

As soon as you walk in it's like swimming in the ocean. They have a very nautical theme going on. The ladies that work here are nice. I don't have sensitive hands but the ladies here are prone to have ROUGH techniques. It seems like every time I would come I'd leave with 1 or 2 cuts. I didn't have a lot of experience coming to different nail salons but that definitely was a MAIN reason I stopped coming here. The experience just wasn't pleasant. I don't know where to start, but I have to say that the owner is soooooo rude! then they start to speak in their own language that you don't understant a thing... but u know they are talking about you or other person w/an issue. The ONLY reason I keep going is because of Tina (she is the best doing pedicures) OMG I have tried various places, but noone like Tina. Recently my hubby went for pedicure and he was late (about 10-15mns) for his appointment, well the owner started to yelled at him that Tina cannot take care of him cause he is late blah blah blah... Thank God I wasn't there, well he ended up having his pedicure done by someone else, which wasn't the best, but he did it. On the other hand, I made an app w/Tina, was there on time (this was in Dec 2012 - was 9 months preggo) and when I arrived, she is taking care of other customer.. they made me wait for more thatn 30 mns and I was so mad. But I was trying to control my emotion due to my pregnancy... but gosh they are so horrible to deal with. When I arrived I waited ~30 minutes for a nail tech and then another ~30 with the tinfoil on my nails while other techs finished up their clients. When it was finally my turn, Cici did an amazing job with my dip nails. They're a great shape and not too thick like some places do it. I would go back to see Cici but definitely schedule an appointment because 2 hours for a dip set is too long. Great price as well $32 for dip. The place appears a little dirty and the smell is so strong it was a little dizzying for the first 20 minute. read more

Walked in without an appointment- got great manicure/pedicure, very reasonably priced, with cutest little flower on my toes to boot (usually not my cup of tea, but compliments rampant over little flowers, and I've got some ugly feet). So I came here with my cousin and we both had very different experiences. I got a spa pedicure and gel manicure. It was a Saturday so it was quite busy but they sat me down at a pedicure chair right away, my cousin waited about 30 mins. I didn't get the name of the lady who did my pedicure but she did a fantastic job. She took her time to really get down and clean up my cuticles.....greatly appreciated. I also got a paraffin wax treatment which was just an additional $5. Meanwhile, my cousin was left soaking a little too long and then they continued her pedicure at a manicure chair so they can make room for new customers. Mimi did my gel manicure and she was absolutely a doll. I had previously had a terrible experience at a different nail shop where the technician cut me in two areas very deep...so deep that the owner didn't charge me, not because I asked but because they knew it was a really messed up situation. Well, this experience was the exact opposite. Mimi took her time to shape my nails and was careful yet thorough with my cuticles and did a beautiful job painting my nails an awesome hot pink she helped me pick out. I wish I could say my cousin had even half the experience I had. Her nail technician cut her and tried to charge her $2 for another coat of gel polish on the sloppy job she had done. I wish I had gotten her name because my advice is to avoid her but if not that I can definitely recommend Mimi. She even tried to make it up to my cousin by offering her a free bottle of nail polish. If I lived closer I would make this my go to spot. The total for my spa pedi (with paraffin wax treatment) and gel manicure was $47 which is really quite good. read more
