I'm usually NOT the person who posts things however, I'm in need of some guidance. I'm new here and tried a hair stylist out (yes I've seen her work) However I sent her a picture, she said she could achieve it, I booked my appointment and sent my deposit via cash app. She then said the color doesn't include flat iron or press just color and wash and deep conditioned and to be honest I've never experienced a licensed beautician color hair and blow dry only and not flat iron she told me that'll be an additional $60 charge. Needless to say the appt time listed on her webpage said it would only take 2.5 hours yet my appt was at 1 pm and I didn't leave until almost 7pm number one. number two, it took a very long time for her to do the color. number three, I was always faced the other direction of the mirror to see the results as the colors are taking. Finally she washes all of the color out and blow dry and flat iron by this time I'm falling asleep I've been there so long work throughout the week, have school and a family to tend to. Originally it appeared nice until I got home fully checked it out and went to the work the following day and everyone was calling me Cruella because my hair is half blonde half reddish brown. SMH I've since then asked and been texting for her to correct my hair her excuses were: * My head (yes head and not hair) is too small that's why the colors weren't achieved. * She self diagnosed me and told me I had an iron deficiency which is why my colors didn't take * and lastly she said not every stylist will be able to achieve something else someone else did (THAT'S A GIVEN) but what should've been the professional thing to do is to tell a NEW client from start that you couldn't achieve it especially since we had a consultation PRIOR to booking an appointment for services. Since then I've constantly been texting her and she's been reading it because her read receipts on her iPhone are active and no response today I just upright asked her hello good morning will you be able to correct my hair yes or no ? No reply again and this time my message went green. So I'm assuming I'm blocked. $245 down the drain and what I asked for vs what I got ... Sorry for the long post ladies but I needed to get that out please anyone who is LICENSED, PROFESSIONAL, HONEST, have INTEGRITY, and can corext my hair please let me know for my birthday is coming and I wanted a certain look that I won't achieve due to the messed up color I know a lot of stylist don't like to go over other peoples work but what else can I do ? What do you all think ? Sola Salons makes the Stonewood Mall a much cooler place actually. Lol. The easiest way to access it is to park near the Kohl's entrance closest to the Sears side. Parking is free. Once you find the Kohl's entrance, you'll see the signs for the salon along with its own entrance so you don't have to access it through the mall. During the COVID-19 era, stylists are requiring appointments, a waiver form, and a text message or phone call before your appointment so they can greet you at the door. I followed Margie from Jae Valentine Hair Studio (also in Downey) because she does such a nice job. Prices for long, thick hair for wash, cut, and style are currently $70 (as of 6/16/20). Yes, a little steep, but you get what you pay for. Clean, stylish salon in which - from what I can tell - stylists rent their own rooms. Nansi was amazing! She did a beautiful job with my balayage and I have a LOT of hair. I loved that she had her own spot, so each spot is isolated completely like its own office. She put on Netflix for me while she worked on my hair. I'm so glad my friend recommended her because she's really good at what she does! read more

Don't waste your time with Daisy, I booked a 10a appt with her, she canceled an hour before my appt because she had "a family emergency". Whatever, stuff happens. She then rescheduled me for the following week for a 9a Thursday appt. I have kids/work and made the necessary arrangements for my kids. 9a I text her hey I am here, she text back claiming she couldn't find her keys but was on her way, I waited until 9:25 and texted again, hey how far away are you? Come to find out Ms. classy business woman blocked me on her phone and social media? What type of business person does that?. She wastes my time, got scared because she couldn't fess up to her lies and blocks me to not have to deal with my anger. Such a classless piece of human. read more

I enjoyed my hair service at this new concept salon. I saw my hair stylist Berenice Rodriguez whom I've been seeing for a few years. She is new to this location. I really liked the private self-contained salon where I had my hair colored and styled. She is an excellent stylist and I highly recommend her. read more

If I could give Krystal zero stars for unprofessionalism and lack of communication I would. I made an appointment her her via her Instagram page. Due to the current unrest the Stonewood mall is boarded up. When I arrived I called her I arrived and she didn't tell me where to enter, and said said cash only. I said I didn't know, I didn't see it in your email confirmation of the booking. She said I posted it on my IG story as if I have all day to check everyone's IGs story. Ok well we resolved that with Zelle. My appt was at 3pm. As I was walking around looking for the place, I get a message at 3:06pm she cancelled. She just let me walk around trying to figure out where to enter. When I called her a bit frustrated she asks me if I'm okay. Well no not really I've been walking around trying to look for your place. Katie Marquez is amazing! Let me tell you why, my story is I have always loved my hair, but around 43 I started getting more and more gray in my highlights around the front especially. Now at 50 The grays have become more and more and have made me look very washed out. I have never had my hair colored before and I thought I had a long time before I would need to, but I was getting more and more self-conscious about my grey hair. At the same time I still love what my hair in general looks like so I didn't want to change my overall color just the lightning from the grey in the front. I didn't know what I was going to do. I saw Katie posting different clients that have had gray hair and she did a beautiful job so I went in and asked her if she could help. And she did!
