I never leave reviews but, almost 3 hours just for an average almond french tip and pedicure. Over filed and left with cuts on literally every one of my fingers. Was repeatedly cut and when I pulled away I was told that I was being sensitive. When she couldn't do the french tip, all the nail techs hovered over me and started talking. Very unprofessional. Got a pedicure, and NEVER experienced any soreness until coming here. The worst part was seeing the nail tech clean the one time use nail clips and putting them back in the bag for re-use. read more

Ms. Hannah, Erica, & I have been crazy busy, so Hannah suggested with we take a little break to enjoy some pampering. Downey was a good halfway meeting point and, after a Yelp search, Moon Nails, which recently opened, looked like they could use some Yelp love. Tony greeted us with a smile and got our spa chairs ready for us. We booked pedis, which gave us the opportunity to chat and catch up. The prices here are very reasonable, and as part of their grand opening special we also received 20% off. The salon is clean and everything is sanitized. There are TVs (on mute) for your viewing pleasure and music. I was really enjoying the tunes, which brought back memories of the South. Decent new spot for pedicures near Downey Landing - Tony, Helen, & Tina were very nice and we had a lovely girls session! They offer several different pedicure options for great prices and right now (August 2023) they're having a 20% discount to celebrate their grand opening. We've been talking about a pedicure-meetup for a long time - as Yelpers from all corners of the LA area, we were looking for a salon halfway for us all which is how we stumbled upon Moon Nails (thanks to YES rockstar @NikkiB!!) - I called to make an appointment for the three of us to have chairs together and they were SO nice and accommodating and made sure we were able to sit together. We all got pedicures and had a great time - they were very patient with us and didn't rush us at all. They got us settled and gave us all a little bottle of water which is a nice touch. I never usually get nail polish so I can't speak to that personally - but my friends got polish and theirs looked great! I opted for their luxury pedicure which includes paraffin treatment and additional hot stone massage. My technician was Tina and she was very nice - but she was a little rough when holding my toes for the trim even after I pulled away and said "ow" lol. Also, she forgot the hot stone part of my pedicure and I remembered too late. Everything else was good though. They have a lot of chairs and nail stations and tons of color choices. Everything is very clean and they have a couple of TVs. Their chairs are a little uncomfortable though - they're positioned oddly and have a hard bumpy part in the backs and I couldn't find a way to adjust them or turn on massage so I'm not sure if they're massage chairs or what. Regardless, we had a nice experience and I'd definitely be back - their prices are great for the area. They're also right next to the huge mall, Downey Landing, so it makes for a nice day out. I kept showing her a picture for reference and asked multiple times for corrections, but the nails were not coming out as expected. I haven't gotten a pedicure (in this country) since the spa chairs began their debut, lol. I usually do it myself at home. I was very nervous, I don't even remember the procedure (I went to beauty school 23 years ago, and if you guessed, no spa chairs there, ha!). As soon as I sat down, they have me a nice tiny arrowhead water bottle. Ask me if the water temperature was right, gave me nail swatches to choose a color, the menu with a nice detailed description of what the different pedicures entitled. First timer! My mom and I arrived her on a Tuesday before 12pm. There were no customers and we were the only ones there so that meant we would be receiving the service first. I asked for two pedicures and the two ladies working in the establishment began filling it with water. Suddenly two young ladies arrive and the attention was redirected to them by the owner (appears to be the owner). One of the young ladies appeared to have been here before and was bringing her sister to get pedi and mani. The older lady took care of my mom while the owner began servicing the two young ladies and left me to wait with wet feet. I am big on fairness and this is not a fair treatment especially that I got here first before the two young ladies. I am writing the review while I sit here waiting to get serviced. The two young ladies might had an appointment, who knows. If that was the case then I should be told so. Letting me know that you will be servicing someone else before me would be the courtesy thing to do. This review is for the lack of communication and being skipped. The older lady has been a nice lady. For sure there are language barriers and that's not a big deal most of the time. Again, it's about treating people with respect and be respectful of people's time. The place looks nice and it's so close to my house that I wanted to give it a try.
