I originally left a review for this place years ago because I was a loyal customer and had been coming here since 2019. Unfortunately, over the years, my experiences with the staff have gotten progressively worse. I eventually stopped coming due to health issues, but also because of the way I witnessed them treat not only me, but my mom, my sister, and other customers. I understood that appointments were necessary, and when I did make appointments, I was sometimes treated fairly. However, I repeatedly witnessed the way other customers were spoken to and treated, which ultimately made me decide to take my business elsewhere. Yesterday, I decided to give them one last chance, and unfortunately, my experience confirmed why I had stopped coming. I walked in without an appointment, and the salon was essentially empty. I understood there was one customer being serviced, so I expected there might be a wait. I asked Vivian if I could get a Gel-X set and a pedicure. After talking amongst themselves, I was told there would be about an hour wait. I said that was completely fine and that I would come back. I noticed they closed at 7 PM, and they told me to come back around 6:30 PM. Because I have personally experienced being rushed when getting services close to closing time, I politely asked, "Are you sure that's a good time? I don't want you to feel rushed, and I don't want to feel rushed either." Instead of simply reassuring me or suggesting another time, Nancy responded, "Well, don't come then." That comment was completely unnecessary and, honestly, was the final straw for me. I simply walked out. A few minutes later, I called Vivian, who I believe is the owner, to explain how rude and disrespectful. I told her that the comment was unnecessary and she stayed quiet. What makes this especially disappointing is that this place used to be so nice and welcoming. I remember when the staff genuinely seemed to care about their customers. Unfortunately, based on my past experiences, what I have witnessed with other customers, and the recent experience, it feels like customer service is no longer a priority. These were supposed to be my birthday nails, which made the experience even more disappointing. I used to come here for my birthday every year, so it honestly meant something to me to continue that tradition. But after yesterday, I know I won't be returning. I ended up going to a new place in Pico Rivera called Glossie Nail Spa. I explained what I wanted, they welcomed me as a walk-in, offered me a margarita, and walked me through the entire process. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and genuinely made me feel like a valued customer. I will definitely be taking my business there moving forward. I don't normally leave negative reviews, especially for a business I supported for so many years, but loyalty should go both ways. I've been coming to Elite Nail & Spa in Downey for over 5 years. It used to be one of my favorite places to go, even though the customer service was sometimes hit or miss. Lately though, the quality has really gone downhill. The products they're using now feel cheap, and my nails don't last nearly as long as they used to. What really pushed me to leave this review was my experience today with Vivian. I walked in since they accept walk-ins, and she immediately told me they were completely booked for the next hour. I asked if I could schedule something for later, and she said no because they were booked. When I tried clarifying what she meant, she got extremely rude and argumentative. We literally went back and forth over something so simple. This isn't the first bad interaction with her either. She's consistently rude, talks badly about customers, and creates an uncomfortable environment whenever the manager isn't there. I eventually matched her energy because of how disrespectful she was being, and suddenly her attitude changed. I've supported this salon for years, but customer service matters. Being told to "make an appointment next time" and then immediately being told they "don't do appointments" made absolutely no sense. Then they finally take me to the station were they do only nails and before I sit I tell the nail tech that I'm also there for a pedicure and she said ok, proceeds to do my nail gel manicure but I'm thinking okay once I'm here I know they will not do my pedicure bcus at the same time they are taking all these other clients that don't have an appointment in and doing both mani & pedis while I had an appointment to do both. Then I said well I need my pedicure are you still going to do it, she said yes, a freaking hour passes just in my dip powder manicure and at this point I'm finally fed up. So I say i am not waiting another hour just for my pedicure if I already had an appointment. that's not fair your taking everyone else in and having two nails techs working on them and only 1 nail tech working on me. Then they try to gaslight me by saying, "oh when you call and make the appointment you have to say you want both service together" like WTF! They have never ever stated that the times I've made an appointment. I never got my pedicure and everyone that didn't have an appointment was done before me. It's ridiculous!! Very unwelcoming experience here. I went in for a regular nail polish manicure with french tip design. Price was fare but the quality of the service was very unpleasant and done with no care or attention and I even paid and tipped before the service. As you can see she did one coat of regular polish and did not care to clean up the French lines after application. Lines were uneven and so sloppy, polish is uneven and clumpy as well . This manicure was $30 mind you, other places charge $40 for gel x polished cleaned nail sets. Don't come here if your have a important event to go to because you will regret paying for the service and leave sad and disappointed. I'm very disappointed with my nails... I got a French tip last week and within days the white tip started to come off even though they are gel nails! I also asked for daisies on two nails and the lady could not make them look pretty, at the end I asked her to just keep them off. I went in yesterday for the third time and I will not go back. The first and second time I was charged $30 for short set with gel. Yesterday, they decided to charge me $40 and gave me attitude when I confronted them. They told me because they were short. I explained the last times they were short, she told me they weren't. I will start with the fact that the quality of service you receive will 100% be dependent on WHO is doing your nails. My first two visits were amazing (pedicures) but this third visit was the complete opposite. I asked for a deluxe pedicure and regular manicure... both came out uneven, bubbly, and they used an old top coat which needs to be replaced (see photos). The technician who did my toes was painting my toenails with sideways strokes instead of straight up and down and completely missed half on my toenail on many toes. I tried to politely ask for the technician to fix some of the mistakes and to help me with the ingrown toenails, yet I walked out with bad polish and ingrown toenails that i'll have to fix at home. I don't think i'll be coming back or recommending to anyone. IF you do decide to come, make sure to schedule an appointment here with someone who has good reviews and photos. read more

Nail tech cut my cuticles when she was filing my nails down. She then made a huge mess with the dip powder and to take off all the excess she started cutting away so much off of my skin on my finger tips of all the dip powder and gel that hardened there. So painful and disappointed with this! Never had a problem with regular gel manicure or acrylic here. Asked for a discount since I'm gonna have to get this fixed ASAP and they only discounted 5$ SMH. I had one of the best manicure experiences here at Elite Nails & Spa. I was in need of a gel manicure sometime this week but due to re-closure of salons for the LA county, I was forced to find a salon who would do my nails last minute. I called and they gladly accepted my walk in request of a gel manicure. Masks are required. The salon was very clean, they immediately ask you to wash your hands when you enter.
