This is my second time at the new location and I always leave more than satisfied! Tina has helped my nails grow so much, I go in for a gel manicure and a gel pedicure and they last longer than the 2 weeks. I highly recommend coming to Starlight :)

I've followed Mai and Tina for more than 15 years, and their work is truly in a league of its own. Beyond their talent, their customer care is unmatched. Tina is a gem--my husband has sensory sensitivities regarding his feet, and Tina is the only person he trusts because of how supportive and accommodating she is. Even though I live in San Diego, I make the drive every 6 weeks without hesitation. They are worth every penny! read more

The technician took great care during the pedicure, making sure everything was clean, relaxing, and comfortable. The massage and exfoliation left my feet feeling refreshed and soft. My lady took me for my first pedicure. This was the place as I was not sure what to expect. Cindy was a sweetheart and chatted me up during the pedi. The chair had a massager which was an added bonus. The ladies there are very efficient and don't waste any time. My feet look and feel alot better. I came in to get my nails done and was disappointed. I've been coming here for 10 years and never had been treated like this. I didn't like my nails because they were too thick and asked if Emmy, the owner, could redo them. She instantly denied me and began screaming at my when I told her they were too thick. She ended up charging me even though I was disappointed. Wouldn't recommend this place for anyone, they aren't loyal and you might not get what you ask for. They are so disrespectful!! read more

It was my first and last time coming to this place. During wax service, staff dropped wax on my hair and CUT strands WITHOUT my consent. After service, I asked if she cut (as there was hair falling off me) and she deliberately lied and said no. I was still charged $9 for eyebrows (which she also messed up, she made them rounded when I simply asked for a "clean up"). I had to call and drive back to the place to obtain a refund. No apology was given. I'm completely upset with the lack of customer service and will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have no problem paying if it is good work, however, if you're rushing, and you are not paying attention to me and you cut me or you put the wrong color and you rush me really have a problem. I will never go back to this place. I am so disappointed I give them a big zero so, I would say find another place where they'll pay attention to you and take their time regardless of how many people are waiting if your business is you're good people will wait! read more

I've been to a million nail salons and none of them can fully get all the ingrown toenail skin on my feet, which is very painful, until I came here!! I went this afternoon to get a regular mani And was left bleeding from 6 fingers . decided not to paint due to mixing of polish and blood not stopping . only peroxide was used and pressure from a towel . stayed to wait with guest that joined to see if blood would stop ( was bleeding nonstop for more than 30min) was still charged full price for mani . The customer service with Sugarist Kathy was shocking. I don't understand how someone in this type of field could be so unwelcoming and careless. It felt like she did not want to be there. She did not bother to introduce herself kindly or interact with me in any kind of way. She seemed very annoyed. She didn't care to make me feel welcomed or comfortable in such an intimate service. During the service I expressed to her that she was going too fast for me as I was in extreme pain from the way she was applying the sugar on my skin to the yanking of the hair. She stated that it was because I was on my cycle and because my hair was extremely long, now I understand it was long but like I said im not a newby to the pain of a Brazilian. She could've responded in a more understanding way. It just was not a pleasant experience for me from the moment she came out to get me from the lobby because of the customer service. I don't know if I got her on a bad day, but I wouldn't want any girl to experience the treatment that I did today. Sugar and Glow I hope you reiterate to your staff how important it is to make clients feel welcomed and comfortable, and to simply be kind and friendly, basic human decency. After having a TERRIBLE experience at another nail salon last month, I decided to come here because it's down the street from my house and because it had so many positive reviews. I came in asking them to remove the gel and dip that the other place butchered. The lady removed it with ease and pain- free! I usually dread going to salons to get anything removed because it always hurts. After the removal, she gave me a manicure. It was the best manicure I've ever had lol only because they always cut or burn me at other places. After the removal and manicure, another girl applied the dip powder on my natural nails and applied a gel polish. I am obsessed with my nails! Will definitely come back :) read more

I've been coming to starlight for almost two years now and I always enjoy my experiences every time. The customer service is good, the employees are super friendly and always do a super good job recreating my inspirations (I always get acrylics).
